Chapter 62 – The new hotel rules

"The day I found out and wanted to tell him was the same night he brought Zayla to our matrimonial home, asking me to take care of her like I'm some old lady," Sabrina recalled sadly, Matilda felt pity for her.2

"I'm sorry."

"That wasn't the worst. When I asked for a divorce, he still slept with me that night. He threatened to not sign the divorce papers if I refused him. I was afraid of losing my child because of how he did it and the number of rounds he went but the fetus was fine when I went for a checkup the next day," Sabrina nodded and spoke sadly. 

She was not able to tell anyone that part except Matilda. The latter went into deep thought, feeling that for Robin doing that, it meant that he was in love with Sabrina but she also knew that Sabrina would not believe it and rather asked,

"Alright. So, do you plan to have something with Martin? Do you feel anything for him?"

Sabrina shook her head. She did not feel anything before and she was certain that Martin could only be a good friend and a business partner. 

"No, Tilda. I don't have the energy to love again. I just promised him a real date because he helped Devin to get you out. The spy was his person," Sabrina said honestly, Matilda felt guilty for having put her through that.

"I see. Thanks for everything and I will find a way to pay him back when everything settles," she vowed. 

It had been years and she knew it would take a long time to pick her life back but she was going to try anyway. She was not going to give up. 

Sabrina disagreed and explained, 

"He did it for me and I will pay him back with a real date."

Matilda felt guiltier. Only if she knew, she would not have made so many demands. "You already made so much sacrifice for me. You don't have to…"

"I already promised him but it's nothing okay? I'm just happy to see you again," Sabrina smiled and hugged her. Matilda swallowed the rest of her words and replied,

"So am I but I'm so sad that you did not teach Zayla a lesson."

Sabrina pulled away, smiled, and said, "In small ways, I have. Guess what? Robin called for me to cook pasta and salad. I knew he never liked salad so he asked me to cook for Zayla."

"And you did?" Tilda frowned in annoyance. Sabrina nodded her head and smiled upon recollecting everything.

"I cooked alright but when they were ready to eat, I gave it to the maids."

Matilda laughed and gave her a high five. "That's my girl. He should enjoy Zayla's horrible meals. I doubt she can cook any."

"And did I tell you that he bought a necklace worth 1.5 million from me for 120 million and gave it back to me? I thought he was going to give it to Zayla after I had told him that the difference he adds to it is the value he gives his woman," Sabrina recalled and spoke.

"Brina, you will not believe me but I think that he is in love with you," Matilda could not help saying after all she had heard but Sabrina shook her head at the possibility. Even if it was after she left that Robin grew anything for her, 

"Then it's too late because this heart has no room for erotic love anymore."

A few days later, Martin was in his office and decided to confirm the reservation he made for himself and Sabrina since it was supposed to be the next day. This was his only chance to make a good impression so he was not going to take chances. 

For now, he never stopped sending fresh flowers to Sabrina every morning. 

Dialing the hotel's customer care number on his phone, he spoke as soon as the attendant answered from the end of the line. 

"Good morning, this is Martin Dane. I made a reservation a few days ago and my number is…"

"Yes Mr. Dane, I remember and everything is in place for you," the attendant smiled and spoke. Martin felt his heart thump a little, as he imagined how his first date with Sabrina was going to be.

"Great. I would like to make an advance payment as well."

"You don't have to worry about that, Mr. Dane. We have new management and policies have changed. You only pay for our services after dinner, when it's up to your satisfaction."

Martin frowned, imagining the reason for the change, which he thought to be risky to the new management. 

"So, what if I decide to not pay after dinner because I'm not satisfied with your services?" 

He asked seriously, wondering which businessman purchased the hotel within a short time and made such risky changes.

"Then that will be our loss," the attendant smiled and spoke. Since Martin had nothing to lose, he said,

"Okay. Thank you very much."

The next day was a weekend so Martin spent his whole day with his sister. He fed, cleaned her up, and chatted with her until she fell asleep before he went to get ready for his date. 

The maids have always seen Martin to be weird because he had two rooms. In the room where he kept Mara, no one was allowed to enter. 

The housekeeper in charge of taking care of Mara was a former nurse. She was the only one who entered and always ensured it was locked.

Martin showered and dressed formerly, looking breathtaking before he drove out of the Mansion, to Devin's penthouse. 

Because of Matilda, Sabrina never went back to her father's mansion. Lizzy had come to spend two days before leaving again. 

Tilda had even helped with Sabrina's dress and makeup and right on time at 7 pm, the doorbell rang.

Devin went to get the door, excited that Martin was making headway with his sister. He could not wait for Sabrina to completely forget Robin and start something new with Martin. 

Devin was certain that Martin would give his sister the happiness she deserved.

"Sabrina! You look dashing!"

Martin handed her another bouquet and exclaimed, his eyes carrying complex emotions, as his hands itched to hug her to his chest.
