Chapter 63 – Robin again?

Sabrina received the bouquet and passed it over to Matilda, who went to arrange them in a vase. 1

"Thanks, Martin, are you ready? And I hope you don't mind," Sabrina said, turning around for him to have a full view of the dress she wore. 

It was a body con dress which she would not have liked before but Devin selected it for her and she had to agree that she would not be able to wear it when her bump began to show. 

"Very soon, I won't be able to wear this dress."

Martin smiled with lust flashing in his eyes when he saw how her curves were displayed in the dress. 

"It's perfect for the night." 

Sabrina beamed and began to walk to the door when Matilda caught up to her and covered her shoulders with a fur coat. 

"Keep warm," Matilda smiled and said before saying to Martin, "Thanks for helping out."

Martin smiled and responded, "I will do anything for Sabrina."

Matilda nodded her head but did not say anymore. While the two walked away, a thought formed in her mind before she went back to the room she shared with Sabrina. 

Arriving at the hotel, Martin led Sabrina to the private room he reserved but was surprised to see two different tables. He wanted to ask but felt they were being given the option to choose where to sit since one table was close to the window while the second one was close to the entrance. 

Sabrina was encased by the luxurious and romantic atmosphere. The lights were slightly dim lights. A chandelier hung right above the table Martin led her to, which was close to the large French windows, so she could have a good view of the whole of New York City.

"I love it here. It must be very expensive," Sabrina exclaimed, excitement filling her heart. Subtly, she felt embarrassed for having been married to a billionaire for three years and had never been privy to a place like this. Martin was Satisfied by how happy she looked, feeling that he made the right decision.

"Nothing is too expensive for you, Sabrina," he said softly. 

A waiter walked in with the appetizer as Martin had requested in advance before Sabrina could respond. Steak and Prosciutto skewers with creamy Basil-Tarragon sauce. 

Sabrina loved the cozy and romantic atmosphere as well as the flavorful bites of marinated steak layered with prosciutto. It also did not cause her nausea, which made her grateful for Martin's thoughtfulness.

"This is good. I will research how to make it for later," she said, while she munched on it. Martin watched in admiration, hardly touching his food due to the beautiful sight in front of him. He wanted to kidnap her and take her far away. 

Far from Mara, Robin, or anyone who would try to break them apart. 

In the end, he shook his head, waving the thought away. Sabrina would hate him if he did that. 

"If you like it so much, I could always order some to be sent to you every day."

Sabrina would have welcomed the idea but not when Martin kept sending her flowers every morning. It would be unthoughtful of her to keep demanding more when she had nothing to offer. 

"Thank you but I would like to know how to cook it too."

Martin was displeased with her refusal but could not force it. What mattered was the fact that she was happy every day. 

"If you say so, then I will get the ingredients from the chef for you."

Sabrina beamed again, excited at the idea. It would make it very easy for her to reproduce what she was eating if he indeed got that for her. 

"I will be so grateful but we can't just keep on eating right?" She asked, Martin frowned a little,

"I don't understand."

Sabrina's lips thinned and she looked into his eyes, 

"Tell me about yourself. I want to know everything," she stopped eating and gave him her complete attention, which made him slightly uncomfortable but he tried to compose himself and forced a smile,

"Then you will just be in for a boring tale on a beautiful night like this," he avoided her gaze whiles he spoke. 

Sabrina hoped that he could just confide in her. Indeed, if Martin confessed that Mara was his sister like her father said, she would have to keep her distance. Mara was the cause of her most horrible childhood experience but what she could not understand was the reason why Martin did not want to talk about her, or was hiding anything about her.

"I believe that you did not just drop from the sky and began making millions," Sabrina said tactically and Martin chuckled while taking a first bite of the appetizer to cover the nervousness he felt. 

His sister hated Sabrina and he knew that Sabrina might still be afraid of his sister. For that reason, it was better for Mara to be non-existent. Martin chuckled before his expression turned gloomy.

"That's funny, and yes, I indeed had a family before but lost them in my teenage years. Mom and dad died together in a car accident and I've been an orphan since then."

Sabrina already knew that he lost his parents but for him to mention it again, she was saddened. 

"I'm very sorry."

"I've gotten over it and I have business to keep me busy," Martin smiled and his mood brightened, only for anxiety to set in once again when Sabrina asked,

"And you are an only child?"

"Yes, but I've always had Devin. He has been like a brother to me so I don't feel as lonely as you think," he winked, at the same time a waitress came to clear the table whiles she asked,

"Excuse me Sir and Miss, are you ready for the main dish?

"Yes please," Sabrina answered in their stead, excited to see what else Martin had in store for the night.

The waiter left and returning with the meal, the door to the private room pushed open and Robin walked in with Zayla. Sabrina's mood was instantly ruined and Martin was furious.
