Chapter 80 – Don’t let anyone in here and I repeat, no one
As soon as Aria saw her boss walking in with a woman in his arms, she quickly went to open the door to his office. 2
She realized that this woman was different from his whores. She was dressed decently, even in a suit. Aria did not also miss the worry lines on her boss's forehead.
When Robin got closer, she saw the woman's face clearer, realizing it was his ex-wife. Aria was shocked but had no idea what had happened for him to bring her here.
She could not also conclude that her boss was fucking his ex-wife because the woman looked too decent for that.
Robin could have taken Sabrina to a hotel but figured that would send out negative misprints about his ex-wife, especially with the news about her fake relationship everywhere on the internet.
He could have also sent her to her office but since he has never been there before, he couldn't.
He could not also send her to his penthouse because of Zayla so this was the best place. Dropping her gently on the three-seater sofa, he said to Aria who was still lingering around,
"I ordered food. Bring it over as soon as the delivery arrives and also, don't let anyone in here and I repeat, no one," Robin said seriously.
Aria nodded her head before closing the door. Whilst Robin began to work on his laptop, his phone rang and he answered since it was Zayla.
He realized that he had forgotten to check up on her after arriving at the office and felt that she was upset.
"Zayla, is everything alright, I forgot to inform you that I was at the office," he said softly. Zayla was saddened because she had received some pictures and needed clarification.
"Robin, are you sure you are at the office?" She asked, suspecting that he was in a hotel with his ex-wife.
Zayla was very bitter upon seeing that Robin had carried Sabrina in his arms from the hotel to his car. Now she was wondering if they were in another hotel.
"Zayla, is there a problem? I have a lot of work to do," Robin sounded irritable.
Zayla wanted to ask him directly but there was a call waiting and when she pulled the phone from her ear to check, it was her father so she said,
"It's alright, I will call you later."
Aria walked in a few minutes after Robin got back to work but did not knock in order not to wake her boss's sleeping ex-wife.
She dropped the food on a center table where Robin usually had his lunch. As he got back to work, he heard Sabrina's phone ringing from her handbag.
He feared the sound would wake her but he could not also invade her privacy by reaching into her handbag to silence it. Things were different now and he was trying his best to not anger her.
As expected, Sabrina woke up and reached for her phone.
"Brina, where are you? You said the meeting won't last for more than an hour but it's already three hours," Devin said worriedly from the end of the line.
Sabrina was having a headache and did not know where she was. "Devin, I have a headache."
"I'm coming to get you." Devin was about to hang up when Sabrina said,
"But I don't know where I am."
"You are in my office," Robin said, his voice startling her and she froze and looked at him. Instantly, she lifted herself to a sitting position upon realizing that she was in his office.
"What I'm I doing here?"
"You passed out after the meeting," Robin said so softly, it made her still from shock. She could not understand his reason for being nice to her.
Sabrina was tongue-tied since she did not want him to know that she was speaking with Devin whom she had claimed to be her ex.
She spoke into the phone, "Don't worry, I will take a cab home."
"No, I'm already on my way," Devin refused. Sabrina had no choice but to reveal,
"I'm in Robin's office."
"Then I will ask Martin to come and get you," Devin said, halting at the entrance of the elevator. He already knew that she had a meeting where Robin would be present but thought it safe to not ask how she ended up in his office, especially when she was having a headache.
"Okay," Sabrina agreed. When she hung up, Robin said seriously,
"You should eat and don't you think it's irresponsible to not have breakfast when you have so much workload? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."
Sabrina knew he was right, especially when she had a baby in her womb. She had promised her father to be more responsible but as soon as she got to the office with the pile of work since she had taken half a day off yesterday, she pushed her packaged breakfast aside.
"Thanks for not leaving me at the conference room but you should have sent me to my office," she said subtly. Robin scoffed and responded,
"I don't know anyone there. Will I leave you on the floor of the car park and drive away?"
Sabrina took an interest in the food rather than responding to his sarcasm. Robin was happy that she was eating and not too upset to refuse his food.
Sabrina noticed the other untouched food and said between bites of the salad he bought for her,
"The food is two which means you have not eaten too, so, who is the pot here?"
Robin could not say directly that it was because of her pregnancy that he was concerned but walked around to get the food and began to eat on his desk.
"Can I have water please?" Sabrina expected him to direct her to his fridge but Robin stood up and got the water for her and one for himself.
When Sabrina was done, she threw the leftovers into the bin and sat down.
"So how are you coping with the pressure?" Robin asked, trying to strike up a normal conversation.
