Chapter 98 – Robin faces Cobby after many years.

Robin seemed to know his wife better than she thought. To avoid the question he asked, she soon fell asleep. Robin watched her sleeping form, and so many thoughts occupied his mind about how he could have handled things differently that night. 0

If he had been a little patient, Sabrina would have still been his wife. He was not admitting to himself that he did the wrong thing because he was going to have two children, but he still felt like he had lost something precious.

It was not long before Lizzy walked into the ward with her father, Cobby. 

"She's sleeping," Robin said to Lizzy, who was almost going to wake Sabrina. Her hand froze in the air as Cobby said to Robin,

"Son, we have to talk."

When Robin's father was alive, Cobby always referred to Robin as a son, but since his best friend died, he never got to see Robin again. However, for the sake of the love he felt towards his late best friend, he could not hate Robin the way he wanted to.

Robin was a little uneasy because of how he had ignored Sabrina's father all these years when he had been his father's best friend. He looked at Sabrina one more time before going out to see Cobby. The man was straightforward, saying seriously,

"I never thought I'd see you close to my daughter again, and Devin told me everything you did."

Robin felt ashamed and lowered his head, remembering the way he had treated Sabrina over the years. The only thing she was good for was food and sex. He never tried to make her better, enhance her college skills, or anything. 

He turned a first-class business administration graduate into a housewife. He also felt ashamed of himself that Sabrina was far better after a divorce than when they were married. It was for this reason he did not want her to lose her glow anymore.

It was the reason why he insisted on Sabrina working from the hospital. It would enhance her skills better and help her to overcome every challenge in the business world.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I have every right to be in the life of the mother of my child," he responded with remorse. Cobby nodded his head and said,

"I agree, but can't you wait until the child is born?" He asked seriously, indirectly telling Robin that he was not needed in Sabrina's life at the moment. 

Robin was embittered but accepted it as the price to pay for all that he did to her.

"I'm sorry, but you know that bonding moments begin from the womb," Robin stated his reason for not backing down. It was the reason why he did not immediately try to get close to Sabrina when he missed her. 

He was afraid that her father would cut him off from her daughter for good. If that happened, he would have no reason to refuse. However, now that he confirmed her pregnancy to be his, he had every right, and nobody could stop him.

"Your presence causes her pain," Cobby said with a painful expression, remembering how Sabrina shed tears in his office that day. 

Robin felt worse, and though he knew that it was too late to have her back, and even if he tried, it wouldn't work because of Zayla, he was determined to make it up to her in every way.

"I know."

"And what are you doing about it?" Cobby asked him since he accepted the accusation. Robin looked him in the eyes and pledged from his heart,

"I will treat her better. Take it as a child who went astray."

Cobby shook his head. Taking Robin as a child who went astray? He had to think about that later since there was a bigger problem at hand. 

"Then what about your other woman?"

Robin could not leave a woman who was carrying his child and one who also saved his life in times past. Regardless, he could not tell Cobby directly and said, 

"It's complicated, sir. I promise that I will give Sabrina the attention she deserves and will not allow any harm to come to her."

Cobby knew that Sabrina's only pain was Zayla, for which reason he did not like Robin being in his daughter's life. His presence would constantly remind Sabrina of Zayla. 

"I don't want Zayla close to her, and I don't know what you are going to do about that."

"I will keep Zayla away from her, I promise. But Zayla should not be the one she should be afraid of. Mara is more harmful," Robin blurted out, and Cobby's eyes were covered in shock.

All along, he felt like he was insane since he was the only one who believed that Mara was alive. Devin was not helping on that front because of Martin, but for Robin to mention it meant there was more.

"How did you know about Mara?"

Robin was happy to have finally gotten his attention and quickly explained, "I have my links, sir, and that news about her death is not true. I just want Martin away from Sabrina because his sister is obsessed with him. The closer he gets to Sabrina, the more danger she faces."

Cobby already knew that, and if that was Robin's reason for forcing himself into Sabrina's life again, Cobby could not stop it. 

Devin would not be able to fight if he did not believe it, and Sabrina was already pregnant and fragile. She needs a man who understands the dangers to be by her. He said seriously. 

"Since you have promised to protect her from Mara, then you have my support, but I also want Mara dead," Cobby demanded.

He was too old, and his business was already weighing on him. Until Sabrina gave birth and took a few years to recover, she would not be able to handle everything fully. 

Also, Cobby did not have the resources to search for Mara. It could drown his company.

Robin smiled, glad to have found common ground and somebody else from the James family who knew about Mara and supported him. 

He was glad to have done all those investigations before time. The call came in handy. 

"I'm working on it, sir."

Cobby smiled a little and said, "I won't say thank you because you owe Sabrina more than that."
