While Xu Wei came out of the Lucky Cloud Pavilion under Wang Rao's protection, she raised her head and saw the silver sports car that sped by.

"Ah!" Xu Wei shouted as she pointed at the silver sports car. She turned her head back to Lu Jingqing and said, "Honey, that car is so cool! Let's buy one so that you can bring me back to the villa!"

This way, she would not have to suffer from motion sickness for so long. After all, she did not wish to go through the same experience when Wang Rao fetched her from Mount Qiu Ling.

'Isn't it the sports car from Iris Time Villa?!'

Wang Rao's heart skipped a beat, and he hastily sent a message to Shen Cizhou. [Boss, this is bad! Ms. Fu is driving again! And she's running! She's driven past not one but multiple red lights! Just how much money do you have to help her pay this time?]

Wang Rao then snapped a picture of the silver sports car and sent it to Shen Cizhou. 

When Shen Cizhou saw the red light at the junction, his heart nearly stopped.

Wang Rao replied, [I'm not sure if she's rushing to her death or not, but one thing I'm very sure of is that she won't be returning to Iris Time Villa for the time being. You should stop replying to my messages, pack all your money and stuff, and run!!]

The harsh winter had frosted the road in front of the Lucky Cloud Pavilion, and the forest on the mountain in the distance was blanketed in a layer of snow. 

Leaning against the stump, Gu Yanqi closed his eyes as he allowed the darkness to invade his mind inch by inch.

The hounds were growling several meters away from him. The sky was lit up by the blinding ray of light of the torchlights, and he could vaguely pick up the inaudible yelling and cursing in the air.

"Run!" 

The shouts and the voices of his teammates asking him to run were still within earshot.

However, where could he possibly run to right now?

He ran his fingers over the ring necklace on his neck as his eyes turned red around the rims.

There was nowhere he could run to. 

Two hours ago, when they had been on their way to the Zheng Mansion, their driver had been shot in the head, their car had gone out of control, and Li Nanli had fallen unconscious after sustaining a heart injury.

Half an hour later, they were cornered on an abandoned mountain range that used to be a military base behind the Lucky Cloud Pavilion. 

Nobody had expected something like this. After all, considering the influence of the Li Family in Myanmar, they had not believed that anyone would be audacious enough to ambush them, and it was exactly because they had taken their opponent lightly that they had been pushed into their current situation. 

Listening to the incoming barking of the hounds, Gu Yanqi picked up the gun beside him and took a deep breath.

Someone was getting closer and closer to him. He held his breath, and then a foot landed on the pile of fallen leaves beside him. 

There were only a few bullets left in his gun, and Gu Yanqi's first reaction was to leap up and snap the neck of the person coming. Then, just as he turned around and saw the incoming person, he froze.

The person was petite, and there was no expression on her face. 

The night had gotten even darker, and one's senses were magnified multiple times in a dark area. 

At the same time as Gu Yanqi saw clearly who the person in front of him was, a dazzling ray of light came from a distance. 

Gu Yanqi's pupils dilated, and he hastily picked up his gun to shoot at the source of light.

The torchlight rolled down the man's hand as he fell limply to the ground.

"Fu Zhi!"

Gu Yanqi pulled her over and hid her behind the trunk. Then, he looked at her with a stern expression as he hissed, "Are you out of your mind? What the hell are you doing here?

"Do you have any idea how dangerous it is? You will get yourself killed!" he snarled. 

Using the light from her phone, Fu Zhi could see that Gu Yanqi's eyes were red. He was grabbing her arms, and his voice was hoarse.

"Come on, let's go find…"

"There's no way to leave."

"I will find a way." He pitched his voice low and replied, "Follow me!"

However, Fu Zhi smacked his hand away. She looked at him calmly, pulled a piece of antiseptic cotton out of the first-aid box, and said, "I'm sure you know better than me, right? There's no way we can go now."

The entire mountain was under the control of their enemy. They could come in easily, but getting out of there was as difficult as nailing jelly to a wall. They were like turtles in a jar right now. 

The two of them did not talk to each other for a short while as Fu Zhi helped Gu Yanqi tend to his wound. 

"I want to go find Li Nanli," Fu Zhi said, breaking the silence. 

She sounded very firm and determined. 

Gu Yanqi closed his eyes, and a mixed expression dawned on his face when he opened his eyes again. 

"I was separated from him. Fu Zhi, you listen carefully to every word I am going to say next," he said. "The people around us are a mercenary group from Country M. The four people who got separated from me are dead, and I'm one of their targets." 

Then, he pulled another gun out of his shirt and handed it to Fu Zhi. "Here, take this. I won't be able to save you, so you need this to protect yourself. Of course, I will try my best to protect you before I die."

Fu Zhi lifted her head to look at him. 

"Load the bullet, pull the bolt, aim, pull the trigger, and fire," Gu Yanqi said. Then, he pointed in the distance and added, "If they don't die, we will die."

Fu Zhi took the gun that Gu Yanqi handed her.

As if he was still worried about her, he gripped the gun tightly and said, "We don't have much time left. Do you remember everything I said?"

Fu Zhi did not say anything and just pulled the gun out of Gu Yanqi's hands. Gu Yanqi was caught off guard and fell toward Fu Zhi.

She dodged by standing up, and Gu Yanqi fell on the ground with a meaty smack. 

"F*ck!" He cursed aloud and got up from the ground. Although he found Fu Zhi a nuisance, she was the only one who had come all the way here alone to look for Li Nanli.

Thus, he suppressed his rage and said, "If you can't do it, you can wait for me here. If I'm lucky enough to go inside, I will ask Liu Mi to take you out of here."
