Everyone fell silent and stopped in their tracks.

The vice-captain turned his head around and said exasperatedly, "Why the hell didn't you follow our footsteps? Are you blind or what?!" 

Xiang Qian pressed his lips and said, "I'm sorry, Young Master Gu. Vice-captain, I…"

There was no point in saying anything right now.

Gu Yanqi's face was grim.

Yu Sheng then continued. "Young Master Gu, Xiang Qian didn't mean to do it. He will die if the landmine goes off. Please, you have to save him…"

'Save him? How can I save him?'

Gu Yanqi opened his mouth, and the light in the distance was getting nearer and nearer. 

Xiang Qian closed his eyes. When he opened his eyes again, he said decisively, "Don't mind me!"

He looked at Gu Yanqi and shouted, "Go! Don't mind me, just take President Li away!"

"Xiang Qian!" Yu Sheng shouted as tears began to form in his eyes.

Yu Sheng wanted to say something, but he knew that there was nothing he could do. Besides, they were in a war with the Phantom Lord, so they could not be swayed by their emotions.

Jiang Zheng's eyes were red around the rims, and tears began to fall from his eyes. He gritted his teeth and hissed, "The Phantom Lord! I will certainly kill them all after I get out of here! I swear to God!"

The rest of the members looked the same as well.

"I'm sorry, Young Master Gu, President Li, and vice-captain." Xiang Qian took a deep breath and continued. He lowered his head, and his face was filled with tears. "I can't continue to serve you, President Li… Yu Sheng, there is some money in my bank card. I was saving it for my future wife, but I won't have the chance to get married. I'm now entrusting it to you, and I hope we can be brothers again in the next life!"

A gust of frosty wind blew, and snow began to fall again. In front of them was the way out, while behind them was bloodshed and endless darkness.

"Ms. Fu!" Xiang Qian was dumbfounded. He instinctively tried to lift his leg, but Fu Zhi pressed his foot back on the ground. "Don't move unless you want to die."

Then, she began using the dagger to pry the soil apart.

Standing frozen stiff, Xiang Qian stared at Fu Zhi.

When he realized what Fu Zhi was doing, he said, "Ms. Fu! Please don't mind me! Demining is not as easy as you think. You should go ahead and leave with President Li! My life is worthless, so it's fine if I die!"

"Fu Zhi!" Gu Yanqi had not expected Fu Zhi to be so bold either. When he realized that she had gone back to save Xiang Qian, his face turned pale. "Stop messing around! Do you really think you know how to remove a landmine after reading two books?"

"Young Master Gu is right. Ms. Fu, I really appreciate you coming back to save me, but you really should leave now. Otherwise, it will be too late!"

Gu Yanqi pointed at the vice-captain and ordered, "Bring a few people with you and take Nanli down the mountain first."

"Yes, sir!"

Liu Mi then asked, "What about Ms. Fu?"

Gu Yanqi rubbed the spot between his eyebrows and snarled, "Don't ask me! I don't know."

A voice in Gu Yanqi's head was telling him that there was no way a 17-year-old girl would have so many survival skills.

Xiang Qian remained standing, frozen stiff.

Even Yu Sheng and Jiang Zheng were looking at them with bated breath. 

Xiang Qian's heart was pumping fast in his chest. He could see with the flashlight that Fu Zhi's forehead was filled with sweat.

"I will count down from three. Then, you'll move your leg."

Xiang Qian held his breath. "Ms. Fu, I… I…"

"Three, two, one."

Yu Sheng grabbed Jiang Zheng's arm and closed his eyes. 

One second, two seconds, three seconds... Xiang Qian felt a cold breeze on his cheek. 

He had no idea why but he felt pain in his cheek.

There was no explosion.

He looked at the landmine, as he could not believe that he was still alive. He turned to look at Fu Zhi and was assaulted by regret when he remembered his attitude and the things he had said to Fu Zhi in the house.

"I… Ms. Fu, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have misjudged you. It's all my fault."

Xiang Qian was, after all, a 20-year-old young man who had not experienced much in his life. Initially, he had been prepared to perish with the Phantom Lord, but right now, he only felt sorry for treating Fu Zhi badly.

"Ms. Fu, I will not…"
