World Leaders

This time, the dark room was filled with more than 100 people, all originating from over 40 pillars, world leaders from all around the world.1

Representatives from China, Rome, Russia, Japan, Africa, Israel, India, Greece, Spain… Almost every country has someone representing them. 

It was to be expected, after all, this is the first meeting involving the entire world after the events of the tribulations happened. Everyone came with important information to share and a plan they wished to discuss.

This meeting was hosted by the American president, Elizabeth McCord. A senior general, with a full uniform, stood steadfast next to her. 

"Thank you, everyone, for coming to this important meeting," she greeted.

Elizabeth made a short welcoming speech, and then she started by giving an update to America's status post-tribulation. She listed the cities that have managed to safely defend themselves and the ones that have to be evacuated.

Afterward, General Max Campbell, who had announced himself as the leader of the American Confederation, talked about the current situation in the eastern and southern parts of the continent.

If the situation was anywhere like before, there would be a subtle rivalry between the two. However, now it was absent, as the two really had many things to resolve within their own area. 

In fact, instead of the Americans, the most fierce debate was shown among the Russian representatives, as they were now separated into two factions - the Rus Imperial occupying the western parts of Russia, and the Red Faction occupying the eastern parts. 

Right now, there is no Russian authority, and the representative that is supposed to come has been replaced by a famous figure from the Romanov family., the richest and most powerful family in Eastern Europe.

After discussing the current situation post-tribulation, the world leaders started to discuss about rebuilding their respective territories.

"Survival is important, but we need to take push it further. We need to start rebuilding the cities and reshaping our future," President McCord said.

With that, the discussions have shifted into talking about opening communication lines and transportation. Projects of building safe sea transportations and railroads were talked about as well.

However, General Max disagreed with the suggestion, "Before we can consider these things, we should eradicate all the Abyss pits. That is our priority."

After he finished speaking, Zhao Fan, the old lady and the representative figure from China decided to speak up.

"Keep in mind that we still have the second tribulation coming at Day 1000, in about one and a half years. How far are we prepared for this?"

The girl next to Zhao Fan, Christina, looked in the direction where Devita was standing and said, "I heard that Alex was still missing. Without him, how much do we know about the second tribulation?"

After hearing that, the world leaders started to whisper amongst themselves. It was obvious that the absence of Alex the reincarnator made them anxious. After all, they had been relying on his information to survive the challenges thus far.

Devita stood up in response, with a resolute expression, and said, "I am sure my husband will return soon enough. There is nothing to worry about"

She was trying her best to convince them not to worry, but considering that Alex has been gone for more than a month and during the tribulation to boot, they can't help but think of the worst-case scenario.

Suddenly one person, who has been quiet, speaks up. The man was the Vatikan leader, the pope himself.

"World leaders, I came today to bring good news."

The sudden announcement made everyone turn to look at him with a questioning stare.

"We, the church, have been waiting for the coming of the apocalypse for thousands of years. Now that the end of the world has come, we have been prepared."

Hearing the announcement, General Max narrowed his eyes and said in irritation, "This is not the time for preaching."

The pope turned to look at General Max and said, "Not quite…, today, I am happy to open the Vatikan safely guarded secrets. The doomsday pillars and the tribulation has been written down by our founder since 2000 years ago. I am inviting you all to come to teh Vatikan and see how we are prepared for the coming tribulation. With enough faith, we do not need to hang our lives to the fate of the reincarnator."

Many of the world leaders scoffed, thinking the pope was just spurting out nonsense out of nowhere. However, President McCord thought differently. She has followed most of the information, and she knows that the Vatikan has managed to take control of the surrounding nations. Italy, Greece, France, and so on. 

The pope added, "Fear not, as what we are all facing right now is part of the Gods' plans."

The meeting proceeded to talk about the situations in the other countries. Soon after, the meeting was adjourned with a plan to meet again the next month.

Vatikan, Rome

The pope came out from the pillar after the meeting with the world's representatives. Dozens of people wearing silver armor have all been waiting for him. They are the Templar Knights, the pope's steadfast guardians and helpers, and they drove the pope back to the Vatikan palace, on the road where thousands upon thousands of people could be seen cheering and praying.

He stopped in front of the Vatikan palace and immediately walked inside, up to the top balcony. The hundreds of new recruits of the Templar Knights have all been waiting for their training.

After a brief look, the pope then walked towards his office, and he sat on his chair staring at an old, leather-bound book on the table. Although the corners of the pages were mottled and yellowed, the writing on it was still clear under a dim light, like even the forces of time couldn't touch it at all.

"It's all going as it was predicted 2000 years ago."

The pope turned the book to its first page and saw the name of the book's author, written in a neat cursive.
