A New Day At School
- The Next Morning -0
By the time I returned to the dorms, most of the other girls still weren't asleep. That didn't make sense, given the time—5 in the morning—so I only had about an hour to sleep before having to wake up again. It was a pain since I was very tired, but there wasn't really much of a choice for me, unfortunately.
I say 'most of the other girls' because there were a few of them who had already gone to bed, namely Obsidia, Lin Luo, and Bai He, while the others remained sitting in front of the TV as they were engrossed in some movie.
"… You guys are still up?" I asked, sighing in exhaustion as I entered through the door, opened by Qing Yue.
"Well, yeah. Can't sleep while you're still out there, right?" Feng Mian smiled happily, waving despite the black circles underneath her eyes. They didn't do much to hinder her beauty, but it was a bit out of place.
"Well, initially, I proposed that only I stay up so I can unlock the door for you and welcome you home when you get back, but…" Qing Yue gave a sigh. "Mei Gui refused, saying she should be the one to stay up, and one thing led to another and we all agreed to stay up together. Well, all of us except… you know. The tsunderes, heheh."
Well, I'm not sure I'd classify them as tsunderes particularly, but…
"What have you been watching, anyway?" I asked, taking off my outer jacket and raising an eyebrow at the large monitor.
"Oh, this? It's… uh… a cooking show," Yu An Yan said after some deliberation. "Yes, that's right, a cooking show."
"…" I didn't believe her one bit, but before I can open my mouth to ask more, Ling Xin leaned in and kissed me on the lips.
"Mm… don't ask girls too many questions, or else they'll find it annoying. They'll tell you what you need to know—if they don't want to talk to to you about it, chances are it's something they're too embarrassed to talk about. If that's the case, don't go prying, yeah?"
"Uh… right."
I pretended to agree with her on the surface, but in reality, my eyes were probing at the screen displayed on the monitor. It was a bit blurred out as it was in the background, but a sign with the name of the show was hung up on a wall, and it read…
'How To Be: Wife Edition'
… Ah, so this was what they were watching. Makes sense that they would be embarrassed about me finding out… though it's kind of cute, in my opinion.
Letting out a low chuckle, I waved them off and headed into my room, not even bothering to shower. I simply stripped and used Water Magic to quickly clean my body, then prepared to sleep. Outside, the girls shut off the TV since I was already home, and all of them entered my room with warm smiles on their faces.
In the end, that night, all the girls ended up sleeping in my bed, and although the experience was short-lived—only an hour before we had to get up again—for some reason, this felt different than all the other times we did something similar. None of them, even the… 'horny' ones, tried anything, but rather simply slept in the base meaning of that word. I couldn't quite place my finger on it, but in that hour… we felt more like a whole family than ever.
It would seem the show taught them quite a bit—and that was further proven after we woke up at 6 in the morning.

"Ngh…" Groaning with exhaustion, I slowly opened my eyes to the sound of my alarm, and shook my head a little to clear my mind. "God, that didn't feel like an hour at all…"
"It sure didn't," Xiao Su said, smiling happily as she sat beside me on the bed, a bright smile on her face. "Good morning, honey. The others are preparing breakfast, so it is my responsibility to help you get ready. Are you feeling well enough to attend classes? If not, I will contact the office and let them kno-"
"Woah, woah, woah. Hold on. I get that you all watched that show last night and all, but… this feels like we're a attendant-client relationship rather than husband and wife. Could you be… y'know, a little less formal?"
"A-Ah… so you found out after all…" Xiao Su blushed and looked away, averting her gaze from mine. "I apologize… it's just… I got a bit nervous, haha…"
I smiled and patted her head. "Now that's the Xiao Su I know. I don't want the professional receptionist you. I don't want the missing world-famous idol you either. All I want… is the real you. The shy, innocent, and most importantly—happy one."
"Xuan Kai…" Xiao Su's eyes lit up at my words, and she leaned in for a kiss. I met her lips gently, brushing against her for a few seconds before moving away.
"C'mon, let's go. We've got classes to get to."
Xiao Su nodded enthusiastically. "Mm!"

Downstairs, breakfast had indeed already been prepared. In the kitchen, Qing Yue and Ling Xin were still continuing their teaching program, with the goal being to educate all of the girls on how to be a good chef. Axilia worked as an assistant sometimes, but with her lofty personality, it was difficult to control her. The only one who could do that was me, and I wasn't usually around for this type of stuff. She only helped when she wanted to or felt like it, which was the opposite of most of the time.
While they did that, I sat down on the couch and opened up my Navigator menu with a simple tap of my finger.
"Now then… today's schedule is… hm?"
Pausing momentarily, I blinked in surprise at the words written in the second row of today's schedule—period two, right after homeroom. It read:
