The loan sharks heard her coughing and started making their way towards her bedroom.2

Mrs. Qin heard the footsteps approaching, and she could feel she was already close to her grave. But still, she opened the shelf on the nightstand and quickly took out a gold pendant.

There was no time to glance at it, so she quickly threw it under the bed and sat upright, as she continued to cough.

The loan sharks kicked the door open and saw her sitting on the bed and coughing. They were angry because they have been looking for the people living in the house, and she heard them but remained quiet.

"Woman! were you hiding here all along and allowed us to make a fool out of ourselves?!." One of them roared.

"What are you waiting for, grab her!." One of them ordered.

Mrs. Qin was truly scared as two rough-looking men approached her to grab both of her arms.

"What are you doing?! How dare you barge into my house to break my things?!." Mrs. Qin asked as she was dragged to the living room.

"You want to know what gave us the guts? Your husband borrowed money from us and failed to return it after the date of the return day passed. Where is he? call him out, otherwise, you will be beaten up on his behalf!." One of them roared angrily while pointing at her.

"My husband is not around. You must be mistaken about something. My husband is a construction worker, and we are doing very fine, he will never borrow money from the loan sharks!." Mrs. Qin said.

The one that gave the order to drag her out of the room, chuckled angrily as he said to her, "It's normal if your husband didn't tell you about borrowing money from us, but for you to lie to us that he is a construction worker :construction_worker:, you will be punished!."

"My husband is really a construction worker!." Mrs. Qin cried out.

"Your husband borrowed money from us to start a business and promised to pay back with interest before the loan expiration date, but he failed!." One of them said to her as he patted the golf club on his hand.

When Mrs. Qin heard him, she was convinced that they came to the wrong address, so she hurriedly tried to explain things to them before they would do something.

"But my husband is really a construction worker. He is not a businessman, and he has never tried to start any business!."

"Are you calling us liars? Beat her up so when that foolish man comes back, he will know we are serious!." The one that looked like their leader, and the one that gave the order for her to be dragged out, ordered.

As Mrs. Qin was already trying to crawl away, they pulled her back and started hitting her. 

Because she was a nurse, she knew to protect her sensitive/important organs. As much as she begged them, they continued hitting her.

Just then, Mrs. Qin kicked one of them and tried to escape, one of them that was closer to her, pushed her and her head hit the strong wooden center table in the living room, and she collapsed to the floor, unconscious.

She didn't expect to be pushed, so she didn't prepare to use her hands to save herself from the impact, hence her head hit the edge of the table before she collapsed on the floor.

Seeing her collapse on the floor without moving, there was a sudden moment of silence.

"Is she dead?." One of them asked in a nervous tone as the others watched on.

"What dead? She must be pretending. Get out, I will check for myself." Their leader said as he pushed the other one aside and walked towards Mrs. Qin and squat in front of her.

He touched her leg and said. "Are you pretending to be dead?! You should blame your husband for taking a loan from us and failing to pay it back despite knowing the consequences. If we don't beat you up, then he won't know that we are serious."

After saying all these, still, there was no movement from Mrs. Qin.

"Is she really dead? Did we kill someone?." One of them asked afraid.

"She must be pretending." The man said and just then, he noticed that Mrs. Qin's fingers were moving, so he pointed it out.

"See, I told you she was pretending!." The man said as he faces a low laugh. 

The others relaxed as well. Their job didn't include killing people. None of them wanted to go to jail for being a murderer.

Just then, Mr. Qin rushed into the house. He saw his wife lying on the floor without moving, a man squatting in front of her. 

Without thinking, he called out, 'Wife' and rushed over and pushed the man aside before the others could interfere.

The man lost balance and fell on the floor, while Mr. Qin rushed to his wife to scoop her in his arms as he cried out to her.

He felt so pained seeing the injuries and bruises on her body. She was even unconscious and she was bleeding from her mouth and head.

The others seeing that the 'supposed' person they have been looking for, came in and caused a commotion, their anger rose, and they gathered to beat him up.

They separated him from his wife and dragged him away from her and started beating him with their hands and the clubs and baton in their hands.

The man that was pushed down, stood to his feet angrily and came to join the others to beat Mr. Qin up when he saw his face.

He was shocked at first, and it took him a while to react.

"Stop!." He shouted to the others.

The others heard his order and stopped with their actions as they wondered the reason they were asked to stop.

"This is not the foolish man that took money from us, we got the wrong person!." The man said with fear in his eyes.

If it turned out that they came to the wrong house to beat innocent people up, their life would be over!
