At last, Fu Juan didn't dare to make another comment and concentrated on comforting her daughter.2

Because the facial expressions of the rest of the family were not good, Lanying forced herself to stop crying, and start eating the good that was served to her.

Although their appetite was ruined because of the mother and daughter's drama, that didn't stop turn from eating.

All through this drama, Jasmine was staring curiously at everyone, and when she wanted to talk, Jia Li shushed her and sent a piece of braised pork into her mouth.

Fu Juan has seen nobody was going to support her, so she had no choice but to ask Jia Li for help immediately after dinner.

She was the first to finish eating, and after she wiped her lips with the napkin, she fixed a smiling gaze on Jia Li and said to her, "Jia Li, I have a favor to as of you. Please be on the lookout for my daughter, she is new here, and naive like you."

When she had called Jia Li's name, all the members of the family turned to glance at her, to know what else she was up to. 

After those words left her lips, there were death glares directed at her from all corners of the dining room.

Fu Juan didn't get the chance to breathe, and the rest of the family didn't get the chance to berate her for her demand when Fu Hee beat them to it.

Fu Hee immediately fired up at Fu Juan, leaving all her manners and respect aside.

"Since when did my daughter-in-law turn into a caregiver for your daughter?"

Immediately, Fu ChuHua chipped in, "Does Jia Li look like she is idle? You want a married woman who is busy with her husband, child, and work to look after your daughter, how inconsiderate can you get?!"

"Do you think you can show up suddenly with an adult without notice, and then ask for us to take care of her?" Fu Lei said angrily with a death glare directed at her.

"Juan, you are very rude, and you owe all of us an apology before giving us a big explanation for all of this mess!" Fu Geming said.

Lastly, Fu Hua spoke with visible anger on his face, "Aunt, my wife is not a servant, if you need one, you know where to hire them. And I would prefer you don't involve my family with your matter."

Fu Juan had wanted to ask why everyone was firing up at her, after asking for help nicely, but her daughter stopped her from speaking.

Lanying guessed that if her mother continued to make trouble, they would be thrown out of the house the next day, so she had to stop her from speaking.

Fu Juan felt discriminated, against and left the dining area after that. Lanying did not lag behind either, she immediately followed after her mother.

Grandfather Fu sighed and turned to Jia Li to say, "Li girl, ignore my daughter and the young lady she brought with her. She failed to handle things in her marriage, and now she has come here to vent her frustration on everybody. But don't worry, I will take care of it tomorrow." 

Jia Li nodded, and as she was trying to get off her seat, her father-in-law spoke to her. He was still angry, so his tone wasn't gentle.

"Jia Li, if Juan ever makes trouble for you, report her immediately. Everybody here is ready to attack her and send her away, but she might take advantage of your meekness to cause trouble."

What Fu Lei said was true. Who else in that family was scared of offending Fu Juan if not for her? So, Fu Lei was giving his daughter-in-law your best advice.

"You don't even need to report her, you can go ahead and fire back like all of us. If she gets insulted, she really asked for it." Fu Hee said with an ugly facial expression.

Nobody will ever be happy with anyone that dares to disrespect them and challenge their authority.

Jia Li accepted their goodwill before leaving with Fu Hua and Jasmine.

As they took the stairs, Jasmine who wanted to walk by herself, asked, "Daddy, why was everyone angry?"

"Grandaunt did wrong, so everyone is unhappy with her." Fu Hua replied simply.

"Did grandaunt apologize?" Jasmine asked. curiously.

"No, not yet." Fu Hua replied and distracted her immediately, otherwise, she would go on to ask more questions he wouldn't know how to reply to her.

"Princess, do you want to spend the night with your mum and me?" 

"Yes! I would love it more if the baby mummy is carrying will come out quickly!" Jasmine said excitedly.

Jia Li chuckled and rubbed her head gently, "Don't worry, soon, you will meet your sibling."

That night, Jia Li bath Jasmine, while Fu Hua got her ready, and in the next few minutes, they were already laying on the spacious bed.

Fu Hua had a bedtime story in his hands and went on to read it to the active little girl who looked like she didn't have any plans of turning into bed on time.

Back In Fu Juan's bedroom, quietness was long gone. When Fu Juan went to have her shower, Lanying started crying and even cried herself to sleep after Fu Juan failed to comfort her when she returned to the bedroom.

Watching her daughter whom she loved, treated like a nobody in her own father's house (Fu Juan's father's house), a fire burned in her heart.

Back in Jia Li and Fu Hua's bedroom, when their little girl finally fell asleep, they both had a chance to speak to each other.

Fu Hua told Jia Li never to bother about his aunt and the young woman she came to the house with. He also told her not to be too kind, and to do things rationally, and not emotionally, otherwise, she would be seen as a pushover.

It wouldn't matter if he and the rest of the family would be there to protect her, but if she couldn't stand on her own, it would be very easy to bully her.
