Knowing the abnormal sharpness of her husband's senses, Long Jinjing dared not move at all. She could only peer at the sleeping Lu Zihao out of the corner of her blurry, tear-filled eyes.0

The truth was that she had only been half-asleep. The overall discomfort from her current condition prevented her from completely relaxing.

She heard all his mumbles about what was love and if he loved her or their sons. As soon as she heard him, her breathing and heart stopped for a few seconds. Fortunately, Lu Zihao was too preoccupied with his monologue to notice her reaction.

Then she heard him say that they loved their sons. Tears just flowed down without her control.

A month later, Long Jinjing was finally freed from her confinement which felt like forever. She followed all the rules to the tee.

She didn't have the same guts as her younger sister Iris who chose only the rules that she could tolerate. Even when Lu Zihao tried persuading her to bend some of the rules after seeing her constant discomfort, she still decided to follow the old confinement rules under her mother's strict hawk eyes.

When she finally took an actual shower, not a damp towel bath, for the first time since she gave birth, she actually cried tears of joy. She would have stayed inside the bathroom for an entire day if not for her maternal instinct to seek her babies' presence.

After the long-awaited and satisfying bath, she felt as if she had been born again, like she had shed her old, dirty skin. She took her time completing every step of her skincare routine without skipping anything (all Orchidia Beauty products, of course).

Her current skin condition wasn't the best but she trusted Orchidia Beauty to help her regain her skin's former glory.

"Feel better now?"

"Ah!!!"

Long Jinjing clutched her chest as she glared at her husband.

"Nikolai! You almost scared me to death! Please…just please make more noise next time and don't just sneak behind me like a ghost!"

Lu Zihao sighed. "I forgot that you have terrible hearing."

"My hearing is fine, thank you!"

He shrugged as he strode into the bathroom and stood behind her. His arms wrapped around her waist as he nuzzled her ear and neck. She shivered and gradually melted into his embrace.

"Any pain?" he asked.

She shook her head. "But I'm still bleeding a bit."

"So you're still hurting."

"N-no....not really."

He looked at their reflection. It was obvious that he didn't believe her. He thought that she was just trying to stop him from worrying.

Compared to Iris, her recovery was actually rather slow. She was still chubby, although her swollen breasts had shrank a lot and almost returned to their pre-pregnancy size.

She was worried that Lu Zihao would disdain her current, ugly figure but he didn't show any sign of it. Even when she stank during her month-long confinement, he didn't complain even one bit. She was utterly disgusted by herself that time but he still insisted on sleeping on the same bed with her every night. In the end, she stopped trying to kick him out of their bedroom.

"We'll stay here until our sons are weaned from my sister's breast milk," he said all of a sudden. "Then we'll move to our new house. You can also take the time to visit it and change the decorations and all that shit as you wish."

She turned around to face him. Her eyes shone with excitement. "It's ready?"

"Almost. My sister is helping out with the final testing of our house's surveillance system."

"Xiulan?"

"Yeah."

"Oh."

Although Long Jinjing didn't know the true extent of her sister's computer skills, she already had an idea that Iris' level must be quite advanced. Iris was a certified genius after all. However, she was still surprised that Lu Zihao, a leader of a full-fledged criminal group, would trust Iris with this kind of important task.

"She's giving a customized upgrade on Bacon's system," Lu Zihao explained. "The little devil personally volunteered to be integrated into our family's security system."

Long Jinjing covered her mouth with her hand from shock. 

There were too much information to digest from what he said just now. Her sister, Iris, was actually capable enough to make changes on an advanced AI like Bacon? Wasn't that too amazing? Was this really the level of a genius?

And…did Bacon really volunteer to watch over their family?

"You might feel uncomfortable about it at first but you're my wife now, Jinjing. I can't fully trust my own subordinates but I trust that little devil no matter how much the damn kid annoys me on a daily basis."

She shook her head. "N-no, It's fine, Nikolai. I also trust Bacon. I think he's amazing. Ketchup, too. Isn't Ketchup in charge of the security system here?"

"Yeah."

"Then…this arrangement, it's fine to me," she said. "I know that you're only doing this for our family's safety. I also agree that with your, uh, secret background, we need to do everything to safeguard our children."

He patted her butt. The corner of his mouth curved up in a devilish smile. "Good. And now, it's time for me to make out with my wife."
