The oath that clan leaders take when they pledge subservience to Vampire King Regus Aurelius is that they will follow 4 rules. 

1)Pay annual taxes to the crown 

2) Rally their clans and troops in times of war 

3) Not recognise anyone who assassinates or dethrones the current regime through shady means, and promise to hunt them to eternity if they so much so try 

4) Not make friends with individuals/ factions that are deemed as opposition to the crown. 

This means that should an external party ever try to overthrow Regus Aurelius, all of the vampire kind must answer to his call for aid, meaning, to defeat the crown one must beat the entire race ". Sebastian asked Max in amazement and when Max nodded in affirmation, Sebastian leaned back in his chair and said " Crazzzy "

The duo had come out to a bar in Warren City to celebrate the success of the auction, and were talking about Max's future plans inside a private room in the bar. 

Ever since Max had came out of the dungeon, he was gathering more and more information about the vampire kind and after understanding their customs and their practices he was able to find the best way to dethrone the king. 

" So, since external pressure is not an option, the only option is to build yourself up internally " Sebastian said as Max clinked his glass against Sebastian's and continued the conversation. 

" Exactly, the way that the vampire society works is that they have a ranking for all the clans under the crown of Regus Aurelius. 

While all the clans consider Regus to be king, their loyalty to him varies considerably. 

For example, the third ranked clan is the clan of the ex-vampire king and that clan absolutely hates Regus Aurelius for dethroning their patriarch. 

However, as things stand they don't have the right to challenge the throne as to do that they have to become the first ranked clan amongst all vampire clans ". Max said as Sebastian nodded his head and took a bite of the peanuts placed on the table. 

To him this was some eye-opening shit. 

" A clan's power is not only decided by its military prowess, but a combination of the prowess of its youth, its economy and its military. 

The rankings are altered every three years and the chief of the top ranked clan gets the privilege of choosing to challenge Regus Aurelius to a fight for the throne. 

 For the past 200 years, the first ranked clan has been the ' Caesar ' clan and they are puppets of Regus Aurelius.

Those bastards have been practically subsidised and supported by Regus Aurelius to stay at the top and they return the favour by behaving like a bunch of loyal dogs. 

It's disgusting to be honest, but it's not impossible for one to dethrone them as the number one clan, although it will take A LOT of work, it's very much possible. 

And once you are the number one ranked clan, you can officially challenge Regus Aurelius for the throne and it will be a fight where Regus can no longer rely on any of his banner men. 

If he's a man, it will be a one on one fight between me and him. 

If he's not, it will be a fight amongst our clans. 

Either way, it will spare the entirety of the vampire race from being embroiled in a war " Max explained his genius plan to Sebastian who clapped back in response. 

" Well, what's the plan for getting a clan then? Cause last I checked you don't have one " Sebastian asked Max, as Max's eyes brightened at the question. 

Very enthusiastically Max said " You remember my girlfriend? Asiva Nightblade Paratus? " 

Sebastian's face turned into a big ' O ' as his mind started to connect the dots. 

" Yeah, she's technically the leader of the Paratus clan that has been annexed by the Kingsman. 

While she wants revenge, I want her clan, and we plan to have a grand wedding after we take that back. 

That will make her the mistress of the Paratus clan and myself the ' Lord '. 

But outside help won't do, if we take outside help it will be considered as rebellion, and while we have the support of the Saint Maximus clan, we can't count on sweepers to win wars. 

To solve that problem, me and Asiva are going to join the third ranked clan under Regus Aurelius, the dethroned clan of ' Titus '. 

We will join their military and gain achievements under both the Titus clan and the crown, until the Titus clan lends us enough troops to take on the Kingsman clan.

Not only will we avenge Asiva's father, but also write our own future destiny with our own hands " . Max explained as Sebastian raised his glass to toast for Max's success. 

It was a solid plan, and the only thing that was left now was execution.

The road was going to be bumpy for sure, but Sebastian had a feeling that the group could see it through to the very end. 

" Well if you guys are joining the Titus clan, then there is no way that this dwarf is going to stay behind " Sebastian said as Max banged his wine glass against Sebastian's and chuckled out loud. 

" Ayee that's my man " Max said as he and Sebastian laughed and enjoyed, completely unaware that Marcus was currently heading with 2 tier 5 guards and 10 tier 4 henchmen towards their current location. 

The informant had been successful in tracking down Max's whereabouts and while he had advised Marcus not to cause trouble inside Warren City, Marcus was in no mood to listen to that advice. 

In his mind it was time to put an end to the masked man's life and he was personally coming to get it done.
