( Asiva's POV ) 0

Asiva just landed back inside the northern fort alongside Anna and Mira as the group rushed to meet with Sebastian and Max as planned. 

" What do you think the end result will be? Do you think the damage we did was sufficient? " Anna asked Asiva curiously as she was filled with glee and adrenaline after the mission 

" I think we did a good job, we killed at least 30% of their forces and caused major structural damage to their walls. 

They are bound to have sleepless nights for the coming month after this raid as they will expect an invasion " Asiva replied with pride 

Soon the group reached Max's office where the return stone was located and met with a crying Sebastian. 

" Why are you crying and where is Max? " Mira asked Sebastian, who had goosebumps all over his skin when he heard the question. 

" Ma-ma- t-the captain chose to stay back " Sebastian said, stuttering with his words as he saw the soul escape Asiva's eyes when he said those words 

" MAX DID WHAT? " Mira asked completely shocked as she could not believe that Max chose to stay behind 

*SLAP* 

Anna gave a tight slap to Sebastian at this instance as she glared at the dwarf defiantly. 

No words were spoken but Sebastian could see it clearly in her eyes that Anna was asking him why he was here if Max chose to stay back. 

Sebastian had no answers as to why he did not stay back, all his training with Kremeth told him that he made the right choice but his conscience told him otherwise 

If it were up to him, he would never leave Max alone, but the man chose to jump into enemy lines in what was a clear defiance of the coward's way.

If Sebastian was strong enough to fight the tier4 opponents or even have a decent odds of victory if he chose to stay back and fight, he would have considered staying back, but the odds of him winning as he currently was were abysmal. 

Sebastian believed that he and Max would be cowards for life, but the man changed after a couple of pumping victories and now he is trying to be a hero and change the world all by himself. 

Sebastian wiped his tears as Anna grabbed him by the hand and chased after Asiva and Mira who had already flown off towards the Southern fort. 

Asiva and Mira did not waste a single second once they realised that Sebastian had teleported back without Max as the duo chose to rush to the southern fort to save Max if he was still alive and struggling.

( Mazda's POV ) 

Mazda heard Max chant some ancient spell to call on the power of some ancient god whose name he had never heard before, however, what happened afterwards Mazda would never forget in his life. 

His enemies blood red eyes which gave him the creeps suddenly became a burning flame of purple as a chill went down Mazda's spine as he looked into the eyes of that being. 

His fellow tier4 warrior launched a flurry of attacks towards the purple eyed warrior, who took it straight to the chest without dodging, however, the attacks did way less damage than anticipated as the flaming armour reduced the damage significantly. 

At this instance, Mazda thought that the enemy was nothing special despite the purple eyes, however, his worldview was then shattered as the opponent stomped his right foot on the fort ground below and created a shockwave that crumpled the entire fort structure below him to dust. 

Mazda could not believe his eyes as he saw thousands of tonnes of rock turn to dust in an instant, propelling him and the thousands of warriors on the terrace of the fort into a freefall alongside chunks of rock and debris. 

Some of his men fell into flames, some were crushed under a rock as Mazda himself was stuck within a crack in the flooring with a large rock covering his way of crawling out of the crack with only a small slit to see through. 

Mazda tried to push the rock from over his head but soon realised that he had a broken ankle as he could not put pressure on his right leg at all. 

Mazda could not move the heavy rock over his head because of his inability to put weight on his leg, however, the rock turned to be a blessing in disguise for him as soon after the stomp, the purple eyed enemy let out an energy burst from his body so devastating that it incinerated everyone in a 200 metre radius instantly. 

Tier 4 warriors, tier 3 warriors, tier2 warriors everyone was incinerated indiscriminately as Mazda himself felt his skin burning even though he was buried inside the ground with a large rock covering him and only a small slit to see through. 

The giant rock above his head was halved by the energy blast as Mazda found enough space to crawl out of, but unfortunately for him he returned to absolutely nothing but the dead remains of his friends and subordinates. 

Having been buried within the ground, he was the only individual to survive the energy blast albeit barely as his own HP tethered at a dangerously low 12% level.

Anger, rage, disbelief, fear, horror, Mazda felt all these emotions at once alongside an overwhelming feeling of powerlessness as never in his wildest dreams could he have imagined that his prosperous fort would be turned upside down into rubble so suddenly by one man. 

At this instance the flight or fight mechanism inside his body was triggered and Mazda completely lost his mind. 

Consumed by his rage and broken dreams, Mazda overcame his fear as he leaned on his spear and shouted on top of his lungs " YOU FUCKING MANIAC, YOU DESTROYED MY FORT, I'LL KILL YOU YOU BASTARD ". 

Mazda vowed revenge, no matter what the consequences might be, eventhough he would most likely die, he wanted to take Max down with him.
