( Regus Aurelius's POV ) 2

' That darkness surrounding him, it's hard to deal with- ' Regus thought as his HP dropped to a dangerous 30% level. 

Right now against Lucifer and the others, he had fought the battle of his life by holding them back enough for the rest of his forces to retreat safely, however, he had now reached his limit with his subsequent movements getting progressively slower. 

[ Dark Storm ] 

Lucifer unleashed an attack whereby a dark storm cloud flew out of his sword and completely covered Regus, with the darkness element completely corroding the top layer of his exposed skin, as the vampire monarch suffered painful burns.

[ Disarm ] 

Before Regus could recover from the effects of the dark storm, the Mercenary King swooped in and used the move ' Disarm ' to send his trusty sword flying out of his hand, before the Savage King followed it up by sending an extremely powerful punch that could have shattered mountains, straight to Regus's gut making him keel over. 

*BAH* 

Regus spat a mouthful of blood and dropped to his knees as Avans circled behind him and wrapped his hands under Regus's shoulders and over his neck to force him into a body-lock as he pincered him down to the ground, rendering him immobile. 

Regus's HP dropped into the red levels without a sliver of yellow left as strength left his body with him slouching under Avan's grip. 

He had fought till the very end. 

He had fought till his stamina reserves literally hit their rock bottom, but now he was done. 

Not even having the strength to stand up anymore, he was completely at the mercy of his attackers. 

" Should have joined the dark faction when you had the chance you bastard " The Savage King said as he began to punch Regus on his face left and right as he enjoyed making a mockery of his defeated opponent. 

Blood began dripping out of his nose, his mouth, his cheeks and one of his eye was swollen shut. 

But despite the brutal beating not a single sound of pain came out of the vampire monarch as he had silently accepted his fate with grace. 

A death protecting his people was a noble one and he had no regrets if he went out this way. 

" That's enough, I'll do the rest now " Lucifer said as he asked the Savage King to move aside. 

Regus's HP had fallen below the 10% mark and if the Savage King roughed him up more he could accidentally die which would make Lucifer lose out on a tonne of EXP which he was reluctant to do. 

Dragging his sword across the floor with it making metallic sounds, Lucifer calmly walked towards Regus whose head was held down by Avans as he prepared him for his decapitation. 

" This is the end for you…. Goodbye old friend " Avans said as Regus spat a mouthful of blood on the ground and replied by saying " I'm no friend of traitors like you " 

Avans scoffed at the vain bravery of a dying man but did not bother replying, after all, he was bound to die in a few seconds.

( Meanwhile Sebastian )

" Brother….? " Sebastian questioned as he looked at the old man up and down and began wondering if papa Rajput had a secret son years before he had Rudra or Max. 

Max on the other hand covered his eyes and fell on his knees laughing like a madman as tears of joy began dripping from his chin. 

Fate was a funny thing, as on the same day that he lost his master, the universe had chosen it to be the day he refound his brother. 

He had always felt a familial connection to the old man, he had believed that he either shared the memories of his brother or was a chosen emissary that his brother had instructed to protect him, but before today he couldn't dare to hope that it was his brother himself! 

When the news broke out that his brother had been killed, he could not believe it- 

How could he? 

His brother was the strongest in the universe and there was not a damn Individual, the devil or otherwise who could kill him. 

But then his brother did not personally appear to dispel the doubts that he was alive. 

There were no traces of him to be found and there were hundreds of trustworthy eyewitnesses who had personally seen his health plunge to 0. 

Even Though Max's heart did not want to believe it, with all evidence pointing otherwise, his mind forced him to believe that his brother was indeed dead, never to return again. 

It was for this reason only that he did not dare believe that the old man was actually his brother, as the pain it would put his heart through if he did not turn out to be him would have been crippling for Max. 

However, there was no pain anymore. 

He recognised the voice that called him " Brother " loud and clear and there was only one individual who could have said it and that was his blood brother Rudra Rajput, a.k.a Shakuni The Undefeated! 

Max watched with anticipation as his brother calmly walked towards the heart of the battle where the other monarchs were preparing to execute King Regus, and saw clearly as to how with every step he took his power began to surge from tier1 to tier2 to tier 3 to tier4.... 

The hunch on his back began to disappear, the wrinkles on his skin began to sizzle out as his body began to fill out, regaining its muscle definition that made him look like his usual self. 

First it was the ' Grim Reaper ' sword that glowed in his left hand and then it was ' Excalibur ' which appeared in his right. 

White angel wings tore through his tattered old man robes as a suffocating pressure enveloped the entire battlefield. 

" Hahahahaha, HE'S BACK, HE'S BACK " Max chuckled and shouted in joy as he recognised the back of the man he had watched his entire life growing up. 

There was no question about his identity anymore, it was him! 

" THE GOD KING HAS RETURNED! "
