“Your surgery was very successful,” said Mother Gu as she suppressed the displeasure inside of her and hold onto her adopted daughter’s fragile hand as her heart ached. “The doctor said you are doing very well. Gu Wushuang had guessed it already but, even so, she was ecstatic when she heard the confirmation from her mother.

Her surgery was successful and Gu Shishi had completely disappointed the Gu’s couple. Gu Shishi would have lost all of her ability to compete over the Gu’s fortune!

But Gu Wushuang was naturally a sensitive one.

She looked around her room a little and asked dubiously.

“Where’s Daddy?”

Mother Gu sighed and said, “He was here during your surgery last night and he stayed until 4 in the morning. He had something urgent to take care of so he flew back for a business meeting.”

She had never paid much attention to what was going on with the Gu’s business. Everything was taken care of by Gu Jiangxin.

As the woman behind him, she didn’t understand matters of the business and rarely asked any questions. She was used to traveling around all the time.

She should not go right back to sleep after a full-body anesthesia.

Mother Gu dialed Father Gu’s numbers immediately.

Gu Wushuang, too, was used to Gu Jiangxin not being home so she didn’t think much of it either.

Mother Gu patted her on the back of her hand and smiled. “Okay, let your Brother Cheng chat with you. Mommy has to go use the bathroom real quick.”

She was young once too and knew that a couple needed their quality time together.

Especially during these fragile moments, Gu Wushuang could really use some tender loving care from a boy, which was why she decided to excuse herself.

Gu Wushuang smiled shyly and there was a hint of pinkness on her otherwise pale cheeks.

Nevertheless, before she could even start passive-aggressively asking Huo Wencheng whether the scar on her would bother him… she heard a starling news from him.

It rattled her from the ground up!

“Shuangshuang, Aunty has divorced Uncle.”

Huo Wencheng had a very complicated look.
