I AM NOT COMING WITH YOU
The couple was oblivious to what was happening in the audience as they watched them on the dancefloor.0
"Isn't it Mr. Briggs?" one of the female guests asked.
"Oh yeah, it is him... Hannah, look it's your boss." Her male companion said. They had a double date, too. The lady was surprised. Hannah is one of the employees in one of Cliff Briggs Company.
"Oh my! Who is that lucky lady? Gosh this is a shocking news!" she was about to spread the news on social when she suddenly remembered that the restaurant restricts the internet connection.
She was planning to take a picture of the woman he's dancing with, but she is far away from them.
"Pfft, I can't take a picture of her!" Hannah said with frustration.
"Will not your boss fire you if you do that?" her friend stated.
"Yeah you got a point." Hannah sighed.
"But if you could see them, the lady seems awkward to your boss. However, they really look good together." Another one commented.
"Yes, I do agree about it but is she the new girlfriend?" one of Hannah's friends asked.
"As far as I know he never courted anyone only these random women claimed him as their boyfriend but never did I hear that he acknowledged anyone of them. He is our cold hearted CEO and it surprises me to see him dancing with a lady..." Hannah knitted her brows pondering such thought.
"Really?? I thought he's a playboy?"
"Unfortunately, we couldn't get a glimpse of the lucky lady..." Hannah could hear the exasperation from one of Hannah's companion.
"Don't believe everything you hear, girl..." Hannah laughed.
On the couple's table...
"Honey, did we succeed tonight?" Liane asked her husband as well as looking at him.
"Hmm, it's a lot of work; we've got a lot of effort to exert for these two..." Frank then stared at the two dancing.
"Come, let's join them, I miss dancing with my wife..."
Frank stood, took his wife's hands, and went to the two dancing.
When they already near the couple, they heard Ingrid saying sorry to Clifford then Clifford laughed heartily. Frank and Liane stared at each other with a questioning look and then hastened their steps.
"Sis?" Ingrid jolted in surprise. "Why do you look so surprise?" Liane laughed while Ingrid blushed.
"Excuse me, Mr. Briggs..." the waiter then handed a bouquet of pink Camellias to Cliff.
"Aww... what a lovely flowers, it is indeed fitting to give..." Liane knew how Ingrid loves flowers.
"For you..." Clifford gives the flowers to Ingrid. The audience softly clapped after their dance.
Ingrid has vast knowledge about the meaning of every flower because she has a great fascination with it. When she looked at the flower, she blushed when it means 'longing for you.'
"Thanks!" she just shrugged about its meaning, knowing that it is only a courtesy from the restaurant.
"Ford, you take care of Ingrid, I'll just dance with my wife..." Clifford just nodded.
They exited the dance floor, and immediately the manager approached them smiling widely.
"Mr. Briggs, Miss Ingrid could we arrange the tour for the both of you at your choice place and date."
"Hmm, I don't know if I will take it, I could give it to Mr. Briggs' girlfriend... and besides, I'll be extremely busy these coming days."
"I think it's inappropriate to turn down their effort, what do you think, Ingrid?" he looked at her coldly.
"You–"
"We'll just leave our contact details, we'll arrange our schedules first, is it alright?" the manager nodded immediately.
"That would be nice, Mr. Briggs."
"Then, we'll take our leave." Ingrid again felt his hands on her back.
"Take your hand off me." She said, gritting her teeth. Cliff only snorted.
"And I am not coming with you in this stupid tour..."
Clifford ignored her again, and again, her annoyance resurfaced. When they reached the table, she sat down then looked at her watch.
"It's past ten already, I need to take my leave..." when she stood up, her wrist firmly caught in a grip. She looked at Clifford perplexed.
"Wait for me, I'll drive you home..."
"Thanks, but I have my car."
"I said, wait. Waiter!" She was stunned and tongue-tied. His voice was full of authority as if she could not defy it.
The waiter went immediately to them; he gave his gold card and paid for the bill. He instructed the waiter to inform the couple who were dancing that they'll head out first.
The couple then looked at their table and waved goodbye, and grinned widely.
