EVIDENTLY, Ingrid is not pleased, so not to make a scene, she just nodded, but she was so furious inside. She makes a façade not to show any unprofessionalism in front of a client, but it makes her grit her teeth secretly.0

"Uhh uncle Cliff, can I call you, daddy?" The child giggled. Ingrids annoyance could no longer be held back. Her face reddened with shame and anger at the same time.

"Hmm it depends, ask your mommy first, okay?" Then Clifford winked at the child. They talked as if she were not around.

"Mom?"

"No!" She answered vehemently and at the same time, glaring at her son. "and no buts." she added.

The trio then walked side by side, and they looked so lovely together. They looked like already a family of three. The diners murmured among themselves and were amazed by the scenario. Some even smiled at the sight of them.

"They looked so cute, and their son is so charming. I think he's trying to reconcile his parents." A woman in her sixties commented, and her companions felt giddy at what she said, and they all giggled after.

Their pace was slow that it seems like forever because of the child. Cliff kept on staring at the child, who is all smiles, and at the same time stole glances at the child's mother to see her expression. Despite Ingrid's constant frowning, he still felt so warm in this setting as though he's unquestionably the child's father.

The same shivers he felt the first time he saw Clark still lingered in his system, and it intensified even more. He again stole a glance at Ingrid, which happens that she also looked at him at the same time and is disconcerted. When their eyes met, she squinted angrily at him.

"So this is what it feels like to have a daddy, mom.." the child innocently remarked. "...mom, I no longer ignorant of what Tristan is feeling.." her child's words were filled with so much contentment that it radiated it in his eyes.

Ingrid was struck by her son that it made her misty-eyed. It sends daggers to her heart in ways she could not understand. She feels helpless. She's never been so vulnerable before in public, let alone before a man, as she always displayed a strong aura that makes her unapproachable.

While Clifford was in awe when he heard the child's expression. His heart squeezed because he knew what it feels like not to have a father when he was a kid.

"Is it because I can understand his need, that I could feel this child's longing that's why it seems like we are connected to each other?" He thought to himself.

In a spur of the moment, the child's hand was taken away from Ingrid, and in a flash, she only saw that Clark is already on the man's forearm, sitting on it. Clifford and Clark gaze at each other, and they seem to be they are silently talking.

That was the moment that made Ingrid realized that the two have a resemblance.

"Oh God! It cant be" she sweat and felt numb all over.

"Gary, I was just curious, what's the relationship between Miss Howard and Mr. Briggs?" Vanessa Reiley asked curiously.

"Ahh, an employer and employee relationship only. Also their parents are friends since college. But who knows they might be lovers" Gary smiled at the thought of his boss and the EVP as a family.

"Hmm.." Vanessa's eyes glimmered with envy upon looking at the two.

She's been working so hard just to have a long conversation with Cliff, only to be stolen abruptly by just an employee and, mind you, a woman with a child! She is so irritated at the thought of it. But she won't allow it.

'Make your friends close and your rivals closer.' She then let out a sinister smile.
