Ingrid left them carrying Clark back to the penthouse suite to change. After they ate lunch, The Jeffries went back to their suite to rest. Both Clifford and Ingrid were silent and did not know how to start the conversation. Clark, on the other hand, dozed off. Ingrid decided to broke off their silence.2

"Excuse me, Mr. Briggs, I need to put to bed Clark and I also need to take a nap. Is it okay with you?"

"I think I need to rest, too. Let's go together." He stood up and to Ingrid's surprise he took Clark from her arms.

"Wait that's my child..."

"I know, I was just helping you. I know how tired you are today and besides...."

"Besides, what?"

"Forget it, let's go." He stormed out of the room leaving Ingrid in agape.

'Ugh! This man is impossible. I am so tired I don't have energy to argue with him just yet!' she just followed them.

By simply following them, it gave her some warm feelings that is new to her. She did not feel it to her two exes, Sheldon and... She shook her head forgetting another painful memory she had the last time she loved someone after her college ex boyfriend.

She shifted her thoughts and tried to recall what happened that morning and it brought smile to her as she reminisce the ill-fated event she faced. She was just thankful that all eventually went well.

Meanwhile....

In the Howards mansion. John was walking to and fro and wariness was taking him as thinks about the article his secretary showed him. He was waiting for his secretary's explanation regarding this. Moments later, Gordon Pears, his secretary arrived.

"What took you so long?" he thundered.

"I could not reach Miss Howards phone as of the moment, master."

"But what did you find out? Are these rumors all true?"

"The Briggs Company's PR manager will release their statement later this evening, sir, and Mr. Clifford's secretary said that Mr. Clint Briggs will be arriving soon here in Vierra to have a private talk with you."

"What? Why have I not informed ahead of time?" John Howard's eyes narrowed.

"You were informed earlier sir, however, because of the left and right meetings and conferences we overlook such small detail. I apologize," the secretary lowered his head.

"Let the butler be informed that we will have a very special guest tonight. Now, leave!" the secretary hastily left the room.

Then Rose, his wife, entered the study room.

"Why are you enrage, John?" his wife asked him. John calmed his emotion first before he answered his wife.

"Gordon showed me an article regarding our daughter and Clint Briggs' son. Here read this." He gave her the tablet which contained the article regarding the 'rumor'.

She read the article and was shocked in its content. "...John what is this?"

"That I do not know. Clint Briggs will arrive later to discuss things of which, again, I do not have any knowledge of. Children nowadays are so impulsive!"

"I–uh–" his wife became speechless and she covered her mouth out of shock.

Clint Briggs was sitting in the VIP lounge of the airport waiting for his private plane that will bring him to Vierra to meet John Howard.

"Gary, what's the development?" Clint Briggs asks Clifford's secretary regarding his very special and highly confidential tasks.

"Still on the process sir, it is not easy to access such document because it is also highly confidential..." Gary paused for seconds and continued to speak. "...we just have to wait for the parties to arrive sir."

"Hmm..." Clint rubbed his chin. "..How about the other one?"

"We are still investigating it sir... it'll be revealed soon."

"I know, but we really must be prepared. Knowing that the parties involved are both feisty and fiery." Gary could only shake his head out of disbelief.

Both his masters have the same fierceness, he could never imagine if both of them will erupt. He could understand their way of thinking and how will they ever execute their 'plan'.

'If that moment arrives, I know it will be eventually the end of me.' He fearfully pondered.
