The Three Fiends
"Wha-?! But that's too dangerous! Why would you want to do such a thing?!"
The family of three looked at Ming Yue with shock as she revealed her intention.
"Let alone going after the Three Fiends, Redmist Sanctuary isn't what it used to be. It's become stronger and much more dangerous. It's become a gathering place for criminals and evil cultivators from all over the continent! It's grown to a point where you can find branches in almost every kingdom. And the four lords that kept guard of the original have changed", Elder Fei explained.
He took a scroll out, unfurling it, and handed it over to Ming Yue to see. Looking over it, the scroll turned out to be a list, a list of names.
Fourteen in total.
"This is a list given to every sect in the Human Continent. They are the names of the Fourteen Evils, each one of them lead a branch of Redmist Sanctuary. Not only are these individuals the strongest but each one was as dangerous as the last. The strongest of them is nearing the Heaven Realm."
The young woman read through the list, committing the names to memory before handing the scroll back.
"Is this all the information that they have?" she asked.
Elder Fei nodded.
"They're evil cultivators", he said, "They usually kill those who cross their path so there are very few people who have actually seen their appearance. Not to mention, all of them move alone. Finding them is one thing but coming out alive is another."
He then looked at her seriously, gazing into her eyes.
"Do you really want to do this?" he asked.
Ming Yue met his gaze with her own and nodded silently.
Just a few moments passed before Elder Fei sighed, softening his eyes and smiling.
"In that case, I won't stop you."
Despite his words, Cui Fen protested, looking at her husband in shock.
"But... it's too dangerous, why would you let her do such a thing?!" she asked.
Elder Fei turned to her.
"I might not be a cultivator anymore but that doesn't mean that I haven't lost my senses", he told her, "I don't know how strong Ming Yue has become but I'm sure of one thing, she's strong. I don't think I'll be worried about her when she goes against the Three Fiends."
"But still... she's still so young", Cui Fen reasoned.
She looked at Ming Yue worriedly.
"What if you really die this time?"
Ming Yue looked at her and smiled.
"Don't worry, I won't", she said, "As for the Three Fiends, you don't have to worry about them anymore."
Standing up, the young cultivator looked at Hongyu and back at the family of three.
"Stay here with them, I'll be back soon."
The child nodded as Ming Yue turned toward the three beasts.
"Xiao Yin, come with me. The two of you should stay and keep watch."
The owl flew to her shoulder while the fox and cat stayed by Cui Fen's side.
"They'll be gone before sunset", she said.
Ming Yue then walked out, standing outside the teashop. Looking in front of her, she saw a group marching towards the store. They were still a distance away but there were dozens, all with the intent of trashing the shop. Looking like bandits, they had their weapons drawn out and a bloodthirsty expression on their faces.
The one leading them looked to be the strongest, a burly man with messy hair and a scar running across his nose. He wielded a club, resting it on his shoulder, walking nonchalantly.
She narrowed her eyes before forming multiple wind needles.
"This must be the one that leads the gang", she muttered,
The wind needles shot off in an instant and in the blink of an eye, the group suddenly stopped in their tracks. As if frozen in time, they just stood there before dropping dead.
"That's one. There's still the killer and the lecher."
Ming Yue continued walking down the street, coming up to the dead bodies. She wasn't there to confirm their deaths but to collect their bodies. It took just a few seconds to bring it all into her spatial ring before moving on.
"There's still the killer and the lecher. Xiao Yin, see if you can find the killer."
The owl tweeted before flying off, meanwhile, she narrowed her eyes, scanning the city. Expanding her senses, she scoured the city in search of anyone that could resemble the lecher. There were thousands within the city but she didn't need to pay attention to the ordinary folks, only those who were stronger.
"Hmm, there's only a few Earth Realm cultivators here, which one of them is the lecher?"
Her figure suddenly vanished as she went from one place to the next, seeing the potential targets.
"No, no, no."
She was quick, evaluating them all with no more but a glance. That was all she really needed to determine who was at fault. Narrowing her eyes, Ming Yue hid within the shadows of the alleys, watching someone from afar.
It was a young woman, dressed very beautifully.
She wore white robes and there didn't seem to be any weapons on her. Walking down the street gracefully, she just continued on her stroll without a care in the world.
"Hmm, she doesn't seem like it but... her aura... there's something about it, doesn't seem quite right."
Ming Yue continued to watch her, there was a strange feeling about this woman but she didn't quite know what. She wasn't going to make a move just yet, not until she found out her identity first.
The woman just wandered from one street to the next, there didn't seem to be a destination in mind. And then, she walked out of the city, moving away from the footpath and into the wilderness.
The cultivator was about to stop until she noticed something ahead of the target. It was a shack, somewhat rundown but it seemed as if someone lived there.
The woman stopped and opened the door, taking a few looks around her before entering. In that moment, there was a very soft sound, the sound of whimpering.
Ming Yue's face darkened, forming the Zephyr Claws on her right hand.
"So she was the lecher, must've used a technique to disguise her energy."
Wasting not even a second, Ming Yue swooped in and broke past the door. Inside, she saw the woman holding a knife, standing menacingly in front of several children. There were four of them, huddled together in fear, tears rolling down their faces and trembling bodies.
The woman barely had enough time to turn around as Ming Yue grabbed her by the face with the Zephyr Claws and hurled her out of the shack. She didn't even bother looking back before taking out a blanket and covering them.
The children only heard a loud crack as Ming Yue carried them all and flew off. Before she did, she took another look around the shack in disgust. It was far from clean and had a revolting smell of piss and feces wafting around.
"Let's go, we're taking you back to your parents."
Bringing them all away, the children were in shock and awe but were shaken from their state after a booming crack of thunder. There was a brief flash as lightning struck down the hut and the lecher together, turning it into a crisp.
They looked behind her, watching a bit of smoke rise up from the ashen remains.
Making her way back, she descended in front of the gates where the guards looked at her in surprise.
"Weren't you that girl from before? That lightning strike, was that you?" the guard asked.
She looked at them and let the children down, pushing them towards the guards. 1
"I told you before, nothing will ever happen again."
