Revealing Herself
"Let's see if you can take this hit!" he shouted out in joy, launching a fearsome strike with his raised fist. 1
Ming Yue's eyes widened as her figure blurred, vanishing from where she stood.
In the next breath, she reappeared behind him as Pingba struck the ground, cracking it under the power of his fist. There was a loud bang along with a small shockwave before he took his fist out, leaving behind an imprint that was an inch deep.
"Where are you going? Come back here and fight!"
He spun and started to sprint after her, reaching out to grab her.
But the young woman was swift and nimble, diving under his arms before thrusting her sword up at his chest. Blood Moon howled as she used her full strength, stabbing right through his body.
"Hm?!"
As she pulled at the sword, she couldn't take it out. Looking at it, she noticed the muscles all around the sword bulging out, pushing against the blade. It was stuck.
"Ahaha! Did you think I would be that easy to attack?!"
Pingba laughed loudly before grabbing at her but Ming Yue just let go, slipping out of his grasp without Blood Moon.
The hulking man didn't even bother taking it out, turning around to chase after her.
"What are you going to do now? You have no sword!"
He reached down to grab a handful of the lifeless dirt, spraying it at her before swinging out with his other fist. Ming Yue jumped back before leaping out of the way as he smashed a tree down.
"Xue Yue, is everything alright?!" she asked.
Her eyes were glued to the sword as she continued to avoid his attacks.
"I'm fine, better yet, are you going to be okay?" Xue Yue asked.
Presented with this question, Ming Yue looked at Pingba, doing her best to avoid this endless chase. There were fist imprints all over the ground along with craters and cracks. The entire place was a mess but he was far from finished.
"Come on! You're boring me here! Are you just going to keep running or are you going to fight?!" he shouted before leaping up, putting his feet together as he dived down feet first. He landed with enough force to make the entire valley shake as dust and debris flew out.
But the Ogre didn't stop there, lifting his nose to the air, he sniffed before looking in a certain direction and ran forward,
As he did, the dust suddenly dispersed as a powerful wind came. In fact, it wasn't just wind but a large tornado on his path. Rather than show fear, he grinned holding his hands out and letting the tornado crash into him.
And the unexpected happened.
He wasn't blown away by the attack. Rather, Pingba stayed where he was and stopped the tornado instead!
Gritting his teeth through his smile, his arms wrapped tightly around it, taking hold of it. But the tornado was powerful, cutting and scratching at his body.
"GRRRAGH!"
He shouted out, twisting his body as he threw the tornado off its course. Looking from one side to the other, he searched for Ming Yue but she was nowhere to be found.
"Don't tell me that was your strongest attack! Are you going to hide after that?!"
Stopping in his tracks, the man looked down, feeling that something was different. Then he noticed, Blood Moon was no longer in his chest and now there was another injury there. There were gashes on his chest, cutting through the skin and bleeding out. It looked as if a fierce tiger had struck him.
Suddenly a flash of blue came by, leaving another cut on his hip and then one more on his thigh. They were deep, slicing right into his flesh.
"You can't run forever!"
Raising a leg, he stomped down, causing the ground to erupt and forcing Ming Yue to stop in her tracks. They were just a dozen meters away from each other when Pingba took a closer look at her.
"Not going to use your sword?!" he asked.
Her hands were open as both the Zephyr Claws and the Boltwind Nails made their appearance. Lightning sparked out of her body as Pale Moon was activated. Though her sword might do more damage, she didn't want a repeat of what happened earlier.
"Can't give him time to recover."
Thinking this, she made her move, charging forward with both claws out.
That was one thing that body cultivators excelled in. The rate at which they naturally recovered far surpassed that of a normal cultivator. In fact, Ming Yue could see the little cuts and scratches on his body slowly mending themselves, turning back into healthy skin.
She circled around him, attacking him from any direction and leaving lacerations all over. There were two ways for her to defeat him, either find a method of hindering his healing or attack faster than he could recover.
"You... can't... just... avoid... me... like... this!"
Pingba swung out, punching and stomping as he spoke. He did his best to track her down but she was far too quick for him now. He wasn't even thinking anymore, just attacking at every little hint of movement he could catch.
But the one known as the "Ogre" was known for his strength, not his speed.
With each passing second, more and more injuries appeared on his body, blood flowed out, dying his clothes red.
Slowly but surely, his strength as slowly fading as his strikes were getting slower and slower. But the power behind each punch was still the same, leaving behind the imprints on the ground. He grunted and groaned as each cut was followed by a stinging pain as if lightning shot through him.
"GRRR, THAT'S ENOUGH! DEMON'S FACE!"
He roared out, producing a loud shockwave that pushed Ming Yue back to the edges of the fight. Suddenly, Yingba's body began to emit a dark purple aura as his muscles bulged out. His hair seemed to tremble as it grew a bit longer and even took on a violet hue.
Even his eyes changed with his irises taking on a golden color.
In a matter of seconds, most of the wounds on his body vanished, healed just like that.
And once the transformation finished, he raised both arms and smashed them into the ground, causing an earthquake as the entire valley shuddered. And from that first strike, Pingba started punching the ground incessantly, creating one shockwave after another.
Not even Ming Yue could endure it for much longer as it knocked her around and rocked her internal organs.
A bit of blood dripped out of her mouth before she wiped it off, looking at her enemy.
"So he had something like this up his sleeve", she muttered, "How do I deal with this?"
Standing up, the cultivator released the Boltwind Nails and pointed her finger at him. Dozens of Wind Lances formed before shooting off but he knocked them out. And then the Zephyr Claws vanished as she raised a hand at the sky, bringing forth clouds where lightning cracked down on him.
She kept her distance, slowly overwhelming him with an endless assault. He might've been two levels above her but no one could endure all of that.
But Pingba just came out with one surprise after the next, breaking out of the onslaught. This time he was much faster than before, reaching Ming Yue's position in a matter of seconds. His right arm was already raised up high and ready to pummel her.
But she deftly avoided it, leaping back as he struck and then lunging forward, taking out both Blood Moon and the Black Blade this time. There was a clear ring as both swords came out, resonating with one another as Yingba flinched.
If one sword wasn't enough, how about two?
