Back to Five Element City

The next day, the Eternal Blade Sect seemed quite busy now as many were preparing to depart for the capital city. Nearly everyone was going except for a few elders as well as many of the disciples. Only a select few would be coming along including Elder Fei and his family.

Ming Yue had long left the Eternal Blade Sect, watching the gates outside.

Both Xiao Yin and Hei Yue were by her side, curiously looking at the sect.

"They should be coming out soon."

Soon enough, the gates opened and several carriages alongside dozens of people filed out. They walked in an orderly fashion, surrounding the carriages. All of them were dressed in the same uniform, carrying swords in their hands.

They marched forward, walking down the road and making their way to the capital city.

Ming Yue stalked them from a distance, just a kilometer or so away from the leading group.

The trip itself was largely boring, just a few days of camping followed by constant walking. There did happen to be one or two beast attacks but nothing they couldn't handle. Of course, the more dangerous beasts happened to be swiftly dealt with by Hei Yue and Xiao Yin.

It didn't take long for them to reach their destination.

Five Element City was in sight.

The young cultivator stopped and looked at it from afar. The first time she had come was years ago for the Youth Dragon Tournament. She was fifteen at the time and now, she was twenty-two years of age.

She glanced back at the members of the Eternal Blade Sect before moving ahead. entering the city.

"They'll reach here by night, might as well go ahead and find a room."

Making sure not to catch anyone's attention, she melded in with the crowds of the busy streets, walking around and seeing the city again.

The streets were filled with all sorts of decorations and vendors. Everything seemed incredibly glamorous and things were incredibly busy because of the tournament. She stopped near the middle, looking straight ahead. At the center of the city was a great palace, the home of the emperor and the imperial guards.

"I wonder if Lord Tang Guang is around."

Seeing that palace, she was reminded of him, the Emperor's Sworn Brother as well as the Head Administrator of the Jade Dragon Pavilion. He left quite the impression on her, a person of power and confidence.

Ming Yue looked away, putting her attention on the busiest part of the city, It was the arena, a large coliseum that took up almost as much space as the palace itself. There was just enough space in there to fit everyone in the city.

Dozens of stalls and little shops were being set up, all with the purpose of making money for this event. On top of that, there were many guards around them, many of which were in the late stages of the Human Realm. Just a few were at the Earth Realm.

"Hm."

Moving on, the young woman strolled through the streets, casually looking around her.

"Ming Yue?"

But then a voice called out to her, it wasn't very loud and they didn't sound confident but they still called her name.

She stopped, turning around to see who it was. There was slight confusion on her face before she recognized them. Though, they looked very different now compared to before.

"Yu Fengtian?" she muttered.

It was none other than the young man she saved all those years ago. He along with his sister came from a branch of the Yu Family, one of the five noble clans that resided in the city.

The last time she saw him, he was a frail and extremely beautiful boy. There had been more than a few occasions where he had been mistaken for a girl instead. On top of that, he did not have a talent for cultivation. Even now, she could see that he was no more than an ordinary person.

But for an ordinary person to notice her, perhaps he wasn't as ordinary.

Seeing Yu Fengtian now, Ming Yue was somewhat taken aback. The beauty from before had matured and he had become a very handsome man. His hair had grown long, reaching past his shoulders. He had thin brows and long lashes as well as a dainty pair of eyes.

He still had the same look of a puppy, cute and alluring.

As their eyes met, his face turned into a bright smile as he quickly walked up to her.

"It's you right? Ming Yue?!" he said excitedly.

The young woman quickly grabbed him and vanished, taking him along. They reappeared within the quieter parts of the streets. She looked around, making sure that there was no one else around them before looking back at him.

"Ah..."

But it seemed that she had forgotten that he wasn't a cultivator.

"Wha- what just-"

Yu Fengtian had a dazed look on his face as he tried to keep his bearing. He tried his best to stand up but slipped leaning forward onto her shoulder.

Ming Yue carefully set him down against the wall, taking something out from her spatial ring.

"Here, this should help you a bit."

Handing him a little pill, he swallowed it whole, closing his eyes for a few moments and recovering from the effects. Afterward, he opened his eyes and looked at her brightly.

"I heard that you had died. Could I just be too tired?" he asked her.

"No, I'm quite alive though I'd like to keep it a secret if possible."

"Oh, I see."

Ming Yue knelt down and looked at him. Her eyes went down to his waist where a sword hung from.

"That's the sword you bought from the auction, you still have it?" she asked.

Fengtian looked down, putting a hand on it.

"The Star Seeker Blade? Of course, I don't really have many chances to use it but it is mine, I'd never give it up for anything else", he answered.

She smiled, sitting down next to him.

"Heh, how's your sister? How's everything?" she asked.

"She's doing great! She might be entering Heaven's Gate actually!"

"That's good to hear, and you?"

He had a somewhat embarrassed face, looking down at the ground.

"Well I don't have much talent for fighting but I'm currently a government official. I'm actually a part of the Jade Dragon Pavilion, working under one of the administrators."

"Oh really."

"Yes, I'm enjoying it quite a lot... I was actually on the way to the arena, I'll be helping oversee the tournament which... are you going to participate in it?" he asked.

Ming Yue shook her head.

"No, I'll be watching though."

"Alright! If you need a good seat just let me know!"

"I will."

After that, the two of them spoke a bit more, catching up on each other's lives before they had to go.

"Hm, since you are in hiding, might I suggest a place?" he said to her. 1

"Where?"

She was curious. After all, she planned on going into a random inn disguised but if there was a more suitable place, she'd want to know.

"It's the Peeking Crow's Inn, they won't ask for your name so long as you have the money. The rooms are also private, no one will be able to who you are or what you do inside. It's quite expensive but discreet."

Hearing his recommendation, she nodded while looking at him.

"Alright, I'll go see what it's like", she said.

Ming Yue stood up and held her hand out for him to grab. He took it and she lifted him up. They shared a look with one another before he said one more thing.

"It's good to know that you didn't die, my sister would love to meet you. She'd have so many things to talk about!"

She smiled.

"I'm sure there will be a chance."
