"The great gathering three months from now was canceled."

"Yeah, I heard." 

"It's supposed to be a way for the empire to rise to providence once more, earlier, the Emperor returned with a solemn expression."

"Right, I heard that as well."

"Umn, not only that. I heard that the lot had already received what they came for, hence, they will leave this place be for a hundred years."

"Right, they were searching for treasures right?"

"Yeah, the empire used almost all of its power to gather whatever treasure we can find in the south, even those possessing treasures or talent were recruited to come as well."

"Uhumn, even the east and west that were usually quiet, joined in, trying to get as much as they can."

"But I wonder, what kind of thing did they find to ignore the whole Myriad Earth Abyss continent's effort, are they crazy?"

"Hahaha, crazy? Just imagine, if a group of people that can actually make all of the continent's greatest power crawl to do their bidding just to receive their favor, how strong are they?"

"I bet, if you're that strong, even an Emperor will give his kingdom if you ask for it."

"D*mn, I also saw the royal guards' expressions, they were all enraged. To think that they've actually done all of that, yet to be pushed away like they didn't even request for it."

"Yeah, just thinking that if a person asked me to make a blade, then, in the end, didn't buy it."

"Uhu, what more if the four great powers did."

"They definitely hated those people, but what can they do?"

"I think they are called high humans? Because they are descendants of a God or something?"

"Yeah, they think they are superior to others?"

"Hey, you must've been misinformed. Do not talk rashly, there were six groups, and only one of them was that arrogant."

"Well, nothing we can do about it."

Mo Xie was strolling at the market due to Shang Ting wanting to do some cooking once in a while, it was also instigated by Tanya, she wanted to learn how to be a proper wife after all.

He was also provided with thirty servants, five guards, and a few maids to serve the manor.

Passing through the market, they heard the rumors. 

Mo Xie didn't know what to think: "Then, the gathering was cancelled."

"I guess all powers suffered some damage."

Shang Ting nodded her head: "Yes, but husband..."

Mo Xie acknowledged: "If a power was to suffer some sort of setback, they'll definitely want to recuperate from it."

Shang Ting looked at the peaceful citizens: "Then, this peaceful times."

Mo Xie nodded in response: "Yes, peace is but a time to prepare for war, and the time for peace is almost over."

"Blood will rain as dark clouds covers the sky."

He remembered it and frowned: "Then, I guess we can safely say that one of our children will be saved."

Shang Ting, for the first time didn't know whether to be glad or saddened, she couldn't help but ask: "At the price of thousands of lives?"

"Is there no other way?"

Mo Xie patted her head: "There are always sacrifices to be done to gain something."

"And it's not like we're the cause of it, you don't have to feel guilty about it."

"We're merely using this chance because we need it."

Shang Ting nodded her head: "Yes, I just hope that the death toll wouldn't be that big."

Mo Xie sighed: "We can't do anything about it, the population in this continent is many times bigger than the Fallen Leaf's. What we can do best is to wait and look for the opportunity."

After spending some time with Shang Ting at the market, the both of them went home, Shang Ting and Tanya started to prepare for dinner and will cultivate afterward.

Meanwhile, Mo Xie felt tricked. As he came to exchange his contribution points, he had just learned that one needs to at least be working for an entire month before they can exchange it all.

There is a rule too that if he can produce great results faster, he'll be earning elder contribution points and will be able to use it immediately.

There are three easiest ways to earn elder contribution points, one is for every students that breakthrough, there will be points depending on which rank. Even if the student already became an elder, it's still the master's points.

Second is by doing something for the sect, like providing some treasure, or maps, or something that can help strengthen the sect.

Third is by completing missions.

All of which depends on which cultivation, how valuable the treasure is, or how beneficial the mission would be.

"D*mn it, if I'd known, I would've added a condition for it." Mo Xie grunted as he made his way to the inner court.

"Elder!"

"Elder!"

As he passes through them, he was immediately greeted with respect.

Mo Xie's currently annoyed, hence, didn't reply to them and just nod his head. He kept looking at the disciples. After a while, he sighed: "Everyone, those that does not have any elders to teach them, I'll be scanning your body, provide no resistance."

"I will check and see if you're compatible with the art I'll be teaching."

His voice was quite normal, but it reverberated throughout the whole twenty kilometer inner court.

In just six minutes, all of the disciples available and had not taken in any teacher made their way near Mo Xie.

"That... guest elder?"

"Look closely, that's the Grand Guest Elder token, which means..."

"Yeah, in the sect, there were only three such people, and one of them is already dead!"

"Right, then... this young man must be?"

"A new one? He's the fourth?"

"Being taught by a grand guest elder, isn't that the same as being under the 24 elders?"

Mo Xie nodded his head. He started to scan them at the same time, he merely frowned as only a few of them are compatible: "A dozen or so..."

He then started to call out: "You with the pony tail, you with the red hair, and you with the strawhat."

"Also you weak looking boy with spiky hair."

"And you..."

He called about 18 that's averagely good and just for the heck of it, he added another 12 that's barely passable just to increase the number.

Then, as he was about to head to the outer court, he noticed someone.

"Sorry I'm late!"

Mo Xie looked and saw a woman, she removed her resistance and the former immediately scanned: 'Oh, perfect harmony!'

He smiled: "What's your name?"

"Replying to elder, I'm Xu Meilin!" The girl responded immediately, pausing for a bit she added: "8th rank inner court disciple, top 815!"

Mo Xie nodded his head: "Good, now, lead the other thirty, you'll be their senior disciple from now on."

"Go to the information hall to transfer to my school, collect your things and move."

"W-what? Me?!" Xu Meilin couldn't believe it as she looked at Mo Xie in disbelief.

Mo Xie rolled his eyes: "Yes, you, go."

"Y-yes!" Xu Meilin went to the rest that were called, but she was met with glares immediately.

Out of all of the thirty one of them, she's the only one at the 8th, the lowest amongst them is at the 4th rank, and most of them are 2nd rank inner court disciples! What right does an 8th rank inner court disciple has to lead them?

Xu Meilin felt fear, these are the people that she's most afraid of.

But then, Mo Xie spoke: "Just so we're clear, I don't care about your ranking in the sect, if you do not wish to follow my words, then you all can quit now!"

All of the thirty of them immediately looked down, they gritted their teeth and clenched their fist: "We will never!"

They can always enter another elder's tutelage, but to have an elder at the ranks of the 24 elders, it's almost a dream as the 24 elders barely teach and only has one or two disciples!

Mo Xie sighed: "Meilin, you don't have to tell me anything, if even one of them dares to disrespect you as their leader, I will know."

"But do not abuse your authority, you will be their elder sister from now on, you will protect them with your life in the future as well."

Xu Meilin's eyes flew bright as she cupped her fist respectfully: "Elder's words are mine to adhere forever!"

Mo Xie sighed and nodded his head before proceeding to the outer court: "I'll be looking for more suitable disciples, so all of you can cultivate in the school for a few days."

Xu Meilin and the others nodded: "Yes, elder!"

The other thirty disciples nodded their head: "Yes, elder!"
