Marriage contract

They finally came to the discussion of their contract.

"Okay then. Today we are here to discuss about the terms and conditions of the contract. Later we will sign the contract and finalize it." Xianwang continued.

"The contract is simple. The duration of the contract lasts 36 months. Which includes 4 months of official dating and 32 months of marriage life." Xianwang said it bluntly making the contract simple.

'3 years! What? you want me to spend all my youth on you?' Yuerui was shocked. But she didn't let that surface on her face.

She coughed a little and replied elegantly," 3 years is a very long time. I cannot promise you this much time."

By the time Xianwang has observed Yuerui, he knew that she would definitely bargain with him. So he deliberately overstated his terms.

"May I know why you can't promise?" He replied.

'Because I have to marry for real after our so called marriage, Mister. That is the reason!' she thought.

"Of course, it does. I need to know the medical condition of my future wife. And also if she is in sound health and if she is able to fulfill the duties of my wife."

Xianwang replied in low and seductive voice.

Yuerui subconsciously crossed her arms over her chest.

Seeing her innocent and scared face the side of Xianwang's lips curled into a smile. He was enjoying in teasing her.

"Mr. Kong, let me make one thing clear. Cough... Cough... There should not be any touching or something." Yuerui replied elegantly.

"That's impossible. We are gonna be a couple in front of people. So of course we have to act like we are close which includes intimacy. Or else people will get suspicious."

"Intimacy? What the hell are you referring?" Yuerui was terrified to her bones.

"Lady, don't act impulsively. I am not talking about making out in public. I am just referring normal things like holding hands, hugging and sometimes kissing." He said the kissing word in low voice.

"Kissing? Are you out of your mind, Mr. Kong?"

"What the hell is wrong with that? It's normal for couples."

"Normal couples do not kiss in public."

"So are you referring we can kiss in secret?" Xianwang replied with a mischievous smile.

"Never. Kissing can never be a thing between us." She said with firm voice.

"Then how can you make people believe that we are together?"

"The other two thing is enough. It can make people believe." Yuerui said hesitantly in low voice. She was referring to hugging and holding hands.

"Okay." Xianwang agreed immediately.

"I have agreed to your term. Now you have to agree to with my term."

"Tell me."

"Reduce the validity of the contract. Make it 2 years."

"Okay." Xianwang agreed immediately

which made Yuerui startled. She was thinking why this man is agreeing to everything she was saying.

"Then let's make it 2 months of dating and 22 months of marriage."

"Why do we have to act for dating? Isn't it all about marriage?" Yuerui had seen many contract marriage dramas but none of them had any dating period added to the contract. So she didn't get the idea of it.

"We can't just get married all of a sudden. We have to make it believable to people. We will say that we had already been together before you joined the office, then date for 2 months and finally get married."

This made sense to Yuerui. By this, she can also get rid of any rumor like she had seduced the boss or something like that.

"Okay. I don't have any problem." She agreed.

"Now let's talk about where we will live." Xianwang started to say something but he was interrupted.

"I don't thing we can act 24/7 in front of people. We also need some free time." Yuerui said.

"That's what I was saying. So we will move in to my apartment which is close to the office as well. So it will be convenient for both of us to go to office."

Yuerui didn't have any problem with that. So she nodded to Xianwang.

"Which makes us to what you will get in return of the contract. After our marriage of one year you will be promoted to one of the directors. You will also be included in the board of directors."

"You know, I don't need that, right?" Yuerui said with a straight voice.

"I know but I have to offer you something."

"Don't bother. I don't need anything. And also don't worry I will not make you penniless."

"Which makes me think something, Ms. Mai. You were not willing to marry me before. But you suddenly changed your mind. May I know the reason?" Xianwang asked.

Yuerui became silent for a while. She knew he would ask this. She kept looking down for a while then raised her face and replied with a smile, "I was just bored. I wanted to do something adventurous. That's why."

"You were bored." Xianwang murmured. 

He knew that the smile she was wearing was fake. He didn't know why but his heart ached when he saw this fake smile of hers.

"Well... If  that's how you put it then what can I say."

By the time, they were talking their food was served. Yuerui looked at the delicious food served before her. A thought came across her mind. She didn't hesitate and spoke clearly, 

"I have some other terms to be added in the contract." Yuerui demanded.

"Number 1: we will live in separate rooms. There's no need for any maid for 24/7 as well."

"You wanna spent alone time with me?" Xianwang said with mischief in his eyes.

"Oogh...." Yuerui rolled her eyes.

"In your dreams. I am saying that because by this we won't have to act 24/7."

"1 or 2 maid will be enough who will do the household chores like dusting, washing, cooking etc."

"Agreed." Xianwang immediately agreed to her.

"Number 2: If you are hungry while there is no food then call for food delivery. I am not gonna cook."

"Why? I wanna taste your cooking." Xianwang pouted.

"I only know how to boil water." Yuerui said with so much pride as if it is the most wonderful skill in the world.2
