Mo Xue'er placed the cigarette in her mouth and lit it up like it was second nature.

Then, after taking a big breath in, she said, "I know that he doesn't love me… but I am still willing to do anything for him. Haha, love is what makes women idiots."

"You seem to have a heartbreaking story," Huo Mian said quietly.

"Heartbreaking? No, not at all. I have him to thank for everything. Without him, Mo Xue'er wouldn't have existed. I was born into an ordinary family and attended a rising star competition in hopes that I would get a chance to rise to fame. He was at the competition as well and asked me if I wanted to become famous. I told him 'yes', and he decided to go against all odds to make me famous, for seven years. I went from a nobody actress to an international superstar. A lot has happened, but if it weren't for his help and support, I wouldn't be where I am today. Therefore, I am still grateful towards him, no matter how he treats me."

Huo Mian could tell that Mo Xue'er was very much in love with Huo Siqian…

"It's good to be appreciative. You are a sensible woman." Huo Mian looked at her.

"Haha… maybe. A while ago, he told me to leave this country, go to America and never come back… I didn't want to, but I also didn't want to say no to him. Today, he told me to sign with GK, so, here I am."

"Thank you for signing with GK, we won't let you down." By 'we', Huo Mian meant her and Qin Chu.

"No, I don't care about others, I just don't want to disappoint him." After finishing her cigarette, Mo Xue'er threw the butt onto the ground and quickly smeared it with her shoe.

"There's something that I'm really curious about," Mo Xue'er said.

"What is it?" Huo Mian looked at her.

"Why does he treat you so well?" Mo Xue'er returned Huo Mian's gaze and asked, enunciating every word.
