"But she doesn't have enough experience though, right?" Huo Mian purposefully asked.

"What? I'm sure your assistant is excellent just like you. Chief Huo, it's decided, I'll give the last spot to your assistant, Chen Jie. Then, you don't have to trouble the director. We're all busy people," Chief Cao said this in a vague manner, but Huo Mian immediately knew what she meant...

She nodded. "If that's so… I really have to thank you."

"No, no, you're welcome. Just speak up if you need anything."

After thanking Huo Mian and seeing her out, Chief Cao finally let out a long breath of relief.

Huo Mian was practically a vengeful goddess; she was too scary.

Actually, Huo Mian didn't have to deal with the chief of the human resources department anyways, she could've just asked Director Wu to directly resolve this issue.

However, she wouldn't do that. Instead of forcing people into a dead end, she always showed mercy when she could.

No matter who took over that position, bribery was inevitable. She wouldn't be overly sympathetic for everyone that was not being treated fairly, nor would she condemn others on God's behalf.

The only thing she wanted to do was to make sure that her people didn't suffer.

It didn't matter if Chief Cao's words about the last spot were true, she knew that Chen Jie would be all set.

After seeing two patients that afternoon and working for a while, she got off work. Before she could call Qin Chu, however, she saw him walk up to her.

"Is it business related?"

"You can say so. It's a high-class wine party, but you know the host."

"Who is it?"

"Rick," Qin Chu said.

"The owner of Seductive Fox?" Huo Mian was a little surprised.

"Mhm, Rick's family has connections with both the black and white sides. Today's the year-end party of Seductive Fox, and I think many influential people are going."

"Mhm, I'll quickly pack up and get ready."

Huo Mian left the hospital and got on Qin Chu's car. Because she didn't really like makeup, she just changed into the caramel-colored cocktail dress that Qin Chu brought her. It was both formal and cute.
