Seeing Huo Mian become silent, Huo Siqian smiled and said, "The only thing I've ever wanted was you."

"Huo Siqian… you're asking for something I cannot possibly give you..."

"What are you laughing about?"

Huo Mian hated how unpredictable Huo Siqian was.

"I'm smiling because… you really do see right through me. You're right, I am a monster, but Mian, even monsters have people they want to protect. You probably don't know what you mean to me. You probably don't believe a lot of the words I'm saying, but I can spend the rest of my life proving myself to you. Really, I can be better to you than Qin Chu can..."

"I won't accept anyone else but Qin Chu."

"What if he dies?"

"Huo Siqian, are you really not going to let Qin Chu go?" Huo Mian asked one final time.

"If you're willing to be with me, I'll let him go. If you love him, make that sacrifice for him..."

Huo Siqian uttered these words with a smile. If he had said these things to anyone else, they would think that he was joking.

"Fine. If that's the case, I have nothing more to say to you." With that, Huo Mian got up to leave.
