Seeing how serious Qin Chu seemed led Huo Mian to believe that her husband wasn't exaggerating.

"So Rick and Xixi… They're really over?" Huo Mian bitterly said.

"I think so… If you have a chance to hang out with Xixi, ask her to forget Rick. They might've had a chance before, but I don't think they'll end up together. Right now, Rick's situation doesn't allow him to make it work with Xixi…"

"Sweetie, you're being so mysterious. What situation is Rick in? Is he in trouble?"

"No, don't worry about it. He's just in a situation that he can't get out of. You'll find out soon enough, so don't worry about it for now. Rick especially told me that he didn't want anyone to know what he was going through. Compared to now, Rick would rather be the boss of Seductive Fox. It's simpler that way."

"Okay, I understand." Hearing that, Huo Mian stopped probing. She knew that Rick and Xixi still had feelings for each other, but why couldn't they be together?

"Sweetie, don't blindly worry about it… You worked so hard during the day and now you are still stressed over others' issues during the night."

"I think I've been too kind lately…" Huo Mian curled up in Qin Chu's arms and said coyishly.

"How so?"

"I ran into Huo Yanyan today…"

"Then?"

Huo Mian sighed and told Qin Chu what happened.

Finally, she conflictingly asked, "Sweetie, do you think I'm putting my nose in her business? I'm not even friends with her, and I have no obligation to help her. She might not even take it the right way. I know that she's a single mom who was cheated on and subsequently divorced, and I feel bad for her."

"It's normal, you're a mom now. One's maternal instinct overrides everything else."

Huo Mian nodded. "Mhm, her daughter is only a year older than Little Bean and Pudding, but their lives are completely different. I thought that Huo Yanyan found her happiness, but the guy was trash… Where is all the trash coming from? Disgusting."

Then drifted off to sleep in their conversation.

Huo Mian was busy right after her morning meeting.

She went downstairs for lunch break and saw Jiang Xiaowei's car.

Bella knew who Jiang Xiaowei was so she let the latter in without notifying Huo Mian, which took Huo Mian by surprise. 

"Dr. Jiang, how come you're so free today?"

"I'm here to have lunch with you. Will you do me a big favor by coming with me?"

"Of course, let's go eat a feast."

Jiang Xiaowei's arrival made Huo Mian happy.

They went downstairs to a barbeque restaurant nearby, sitting down in one of the private tatami rooms.

"You're not busy at the city bureau?"

"I'm not busy today. How about you? I heard that GK's been swamped with business?"

Huo Mian nodded furiously...

"What about Mr. Qin?"

"He's taking care of the kids at home."

"Pff… Really? Don't kid me." Jiang Xiaowei was in disbelief.

"Really, I am not lying."

"Uh… That's a beautiful sight. I'm scared to even think about it, the incredibly handsome, intelligent, athletic, cold, and mysterious Mr. Qin would be taking care of the twins at home."

"Mhm, and the father and daughters have a great relationship…"

"Okay, I am really impressed," Jiang Xiaowei admitted.

"He thought that he spent too little time with the kids, and I know that."

"It's not his fault. My husband spends a really limited amount of time with Yunchu because of his tight schedule too."

"Right, I wanted to ask you. You said on WeChat yesterday that Mo Xue'er was released on bail?"

"Yes, they let her go. The media doesn't know about it, that's why they didn't report it."

"Did Huo Siqian bail her out? Didn't he say that he didn't care?" Huo Mian curiously looked at Jiang Xiaowei.
