"Sure, Xiaowei, go ahead." Huo Mian knew Jiang Xiaowei wouldn't be calling for no reason, so she walked upstairs, away from the others.0

"Mian, are you close with Huo Yanyan?" Jiang Xiaowei asked.

"You know we were never close before, but I helped her twice after she fell from grace… When my daughters were kidnapped, she helped Pudding run away to find my husband… I know she's still at the hospital, and we're taking care of her daughter… The truth is, I feel indebted to her," Huo Mian said honestly.

"Oh, I see," Jiang Xiaowei said, as if she was deep in thought.

"What's wrong, Xiaowei?" Huo Mian asked.

"You know that sister-in-law of mine, right?"

"Wei Ying?" Huo Mian asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I think she's getting divorced… Everyone's going crazy and my husband has to go back to the mansion for family meetings every day. He tells me everything, and now I have a headache as well."

"Wei Ying's getting divorced? She just got married though, and they don't even have children yet, right?" When Wei Ying and Shen Mingxi got married, the entire city went into an uproar. The bride and groom were seen as the perfect couple in their social circle – Shen Mingxi was incredibly handsome, and Wei Ying was stunningly beautiful.

Yet, in less than three years, a seemingly-stable marriage ended in a debacle. 

"They're getting divorced because they're not pregnant yet. If they were, things probably wouldn't have gone this far…" Jiang Xiaowei sighed.

"Uh… is one of them reproductively challenged?" Huo Mian thought out loud.

"No, they both got checked up, they're fine… but I heard…" Jiang Xiaowei hesitated.

"Come on, Xiaowei, just tell me. You're leaving me high and dry here…"

"I heard that brat Shen Mingxi barely touched Wei Ying, and they rarely sleep together… Wei Ying's been in a bad mood because of that, and they always fight. That's why they want to get divorced."

"Isn't that a little overboard? Wei Ying's spoiled, but I heard she loves Shen Mingxi a lot. What happened?" Huo Mian asked, feeling bad for the couple.

"My husband said that it has something to do with Huo Yanyan."

"Huo Yanyan? Really?" Huo Mian asked in surprise.

"Yeah, Wei Ying's been crying hell at home and threatening to make Huo Yanyan's life worse than it already is… My husband told me about it, and I thought you'd know something… Do you think something's really going on between Huo Yanyan and Shen Mingxi? She just can't be compared to Yingying in any way, whether it's looks or background. Moreover, she's a divorced woman with a child. What does Shen Mingxi see in her?" Jiang Xiaowei asked; when she first heard what happened from Wei Liao, she was also in disbelief.

"Now that you've mentioned it, I remembered something," Huo Mian said calmly.

"What is it?"

"When I went to see Huo Yanyan at the hospital, I saw Shen Mingxi visiting her when I left… and he brought flowers… I don't know if something's going on between them, but there were definitely interactions between the two in the past little while… Why else would someone as cold and aloof as Shen Mingxi visit another woman? Also, a while ago, I saw Wei Ying and her friends pulling Huo Yanyan's hair and hitting her at a mall. Maybe it's because Wei Ying saw something… But honestly, I don't think there's something fishy going on between those two. I think Shen Mingxi just feels bad for Huo Yanyan. After all, she used to be one of the richest socialites in the city and now she's a single mother. I feel bad for her too… I don't have a certain answer as to whether Shen Mingxi and Huo Yanyan are together, since I never saw them doing anything overboard…"
