- 6:30 PM, at a high-end shopping mall -2

"Uncle Shen, I'm a little hungry… I want to eat fruit pizza," Tiantian said with her baby voice.

Shen Mingxi held her hand and looked at her lovingly. "Sure, let's wait for Mommy first, she went to the restroom and will be right back. Then, we'll go get food, alright?"

"Okay!" Tiantian nodded happily.

Shen Mingxi may not be very old, but he looked at the little girl with such fatherly love that anyone would mistake him for Tiantian's father.

Two women shopping near them saw the pair standing there. One woman grabbed the other by the arm. "Ying-Ying, look who it is!"

Wei Ying looked up and her expression changed immediately. She and Shen Mingxi divorced months ago, but she still felt a surge of emotions when she saw him.

"Ying-Ying, is that little girl that B*tch Huo Yanyan's daughter?" Wei Ying's friend asked with her jaw clenched.

"Yeah." Wei Ying once hired a private detective to investigate Huo Yanyan, so she had seen her daughter a couple of times. Therefore, she immediately recognized Tiantian.

"But… why is Young Master Shen treating that kid like his own? Do you think… that's his daughter, and you just didn't know about it?"

Wei Ying shook her head, her expression still as cold as ice. "That's not possible. If the kid was really his, the Shen Family would've done something already."

"Why would he treat a kid who isn't his own so well?" Her friend asked, very confused.

Wei Ying stared at Shen Mingxi and Wei Ying, her heart bubbling with jealousy and annoyance.

"Ying-Ying, let's go." Her friend tried to pull her away since she knew that Wei Ying was still hung up over her ex-husband.

Wei Ying, however, shook her friend's hand away and walked towards Shen Mingxi and Tiantian with large strides.

"Ying-Ying, what are you doing!" Her friend immediately followed after her.

"Long time no see, Young Master Shen…" Wei Ying pretended to be calm and collected as she greeted Shen Mingxi.

The latter looked up. When he saw that it was Wei Ying, his expression immediately fell. Anyone would be able to tell that he was obviously disgusted by her.

"Can I help you?" Shen Mingxi asked, his tone as cold as ice.

The only two people capable of being more indifferent than he was would be Rick and Qin Chu.

"What? I can't even say hi anymore? We were married after all… It's not like I killed your family or something," Wei Ying asked, her lips curled into a fake smile.

"Uncle Shen, I'm scared…" Tiantian knew Wei Ying often picked on her mom, so she was scared of the woman in front of her and immediately hid behind Shen Mingxi.

"It's okay, Tiantian. Uncle Shen is here," Shen Mingxi consoled the young girl patiently.

"Wow, Young Master Shen, you got a good buy one get one free deal… you're a dad before the bitch even got pregnant with you! But hey, stepfathers aren't easy to be, you're basically taking care of someone else's kid… You never know, maybe she'll completely turn on you once she grows up and runs back to her own dad. Then, you'd be left with nothing… and it'll all be too late. I'm just giving you a heads up," Wei Ying said. Her words had always been sharp and merciless.

After listening to her words, Shen Mingxi's expression immediately darkened.
