"I'm afraid that Miss Lu might interfere when I do end up finding the girl. After all, there's no way the Lu Family has no idea of the whereabouts of that girl after all these years."

"You're saying the Lu Family has been secretly protecting her?" Ian asked.

"Very possible," Huo Siqian purposely tried to add a smokescreen.

"If that's what you're worried about, you can rest assured knowing that Lu Yan is currently in Pakistan. She won't be able to disturb you unless she can shadow-clone herself."

"That's good to hear."

"The deadline of one month is fast approaching. I hope you will keep your words, or else I will personally find the girl, even if it means bathing the entirety of C City in blood… And for you, don't think for a second that you will get out of it in one piece just because Nalo is on your side."

"I have not had those thoughts, Master. I will do all I can to deliver what you've asked, rest assured." Huo Siqian smiled and hung up the phone.

"Boss, are we really going to do what Mr. Ian has asked and hand over Miss Huo?" Ah-Cheng asked anxiously.

"I have my own plan for this. Did you relay the message to her like I asked you to?" Huo Siqian asked.

"Yes, she says she understands everything, and will do what you've asked. But… is a month really enough time?" Ah-Cheng asked.

"A month is more than enough to destroy a husband and wife's relationship. It just so happens that the target is Mian, she's a little hard to deal with because of how smart she is."

"It seems like Miss Huo will be having a pretty rough time for a while."

"President Qin, Mrs. Sun from the IT department is here to see you," Bella reported.

"Tell her to come in." Qin Chu kept reading the documents without glancing up.

A woman in her forties walked in. She wore a black sweater and a pair of red wide-legged pants, looking sharp and competent.

"President Qin."

"You are...?" Qin Chu searched his memory and couldn't remember her name. There were just too many employees within the company; he was not familiar with anyone other than the high executives.

"President Qin, I'm Sun Xiaoxiao. I was the one that got admitted to the hospital a couple of days ago due to cardiac arrest."

"I see. Did you need something?"

"I heard you were the one that carried me onto the ambulance, allowing me to receive treatment immediately. My family and I are all very thankful, so we've booked a restaurant for later tonight, after work, to thank you. I know you're very busy, but I really want to show you my appreciation. I've also invited Miss Zhang, who was also present and saved me. She is a very nice girl, and she's been taking care of me while I was in the hospital."

"What time?" Qin Chu asked.

Qin Chu was just about to reject her offer. However, upon hearing that Miss Zhang, who was probably that Zhang Manlin, would also be attending, Qin Chu decided to change his mind last minute.
