"Qin Chu is here. He's staying with Mian in her ward."2

"I'll go and see her."

Su Yu stood up with difficulty but found he didn't have the strength to walk.

"Mian is in a bad state… She just lost her baby and is devastated… Yu, can you wait for a while and see her later?"

"No. I must go now," Su Yu insisted.

Resigned, Mrs. Su agreed. But Su Yu was too big for her, so she called two bodyguards in to help Su Yu go upstairs. 

On his way to the upstairs ward, Su Yu had guessed what had happened.

Huo Mian had planned to let him and Huo Siqian go and detonate the bomb herself.

But somehow Huo Siqian guessed her plan and rushed to her at the last moment.

He held her from behind and said something to her, taking the mini bomb from her somehow. 

Then Huo Siqian pretended to surrender to Leila and walked to her side before detonating the bomb… 

From what his mother told him, Su Yu knew no one survived the explosion except for him and Huo Mian.

It meant Huo Siqian succeeded; he killed himself, Leila and all the men she brought, including the wooden-faced clerk working in the shop of the service station. 

At the thought that Huo Mian had lost her baby, Su Yu hated himself and wished he could suffer the pain for her. 

Huo Mian had come to rescue him and ended up in this state. How could he face her? How could he face Qin Chu?

The distance from his ward to her ward was only 200 meters, but he felt it was as long as 10,000 miles.

Complicated feelings swirled in his mind.

Finally, they reached the door of the ward.

"Mr. Su, here we are. Will you enter?" the two bodyguards asked in low voices.

Su Yu stood before the door but didn't dare to enter. He was torn. He wanted to see Huo Mian but was afraid to see her at the same time. After all, the result was hard to accept.

"Yu… Shall we come tomorrow?"

Mrs. Su felt hurt inside for her son, afraid he'd get more emotional when he saw Huo Mian. So she tried to get him back.

"No. I'll face it sooner or later."

That said, Su Yu made the decision and said to the bodyguards expressionlessly, "You…help me into the room." 

When he entered, Huo Mian was asleep.

Standing beside the bed, Qin Chu was watching her.

Seeing Su Yu enter, Qin Chu looked back with unreadable eyes.

"You woke up." Qin Chu was the first to speak. 

Su Yu nodded.

He looked at Huo Mian and felt bad when he saw her pale face.

"Qin Chu, did Mian wake up?"

"Not yet. She's been like this after the surgery. But the doctor said she'll be fine. She got a strong concussion in the head and has been in a coma for three days. I think she'll… wake up soon."

"Qin Chu, the baby…" Tears welled up in Su Yu's eyes.

"The baby… is… lost."

Qin Chu paused twice as he spoke the four words as if he was using all his strength to force the words out.
