"Hi." Huo Mian waved back. 2

"The cafeteria food is pretty good, you can eat more in case you get hungry in the afternoon. We still have a lot of classes left," the boy reminded her.

"Thanks."

Not far from Huo Mian, Qin Chu glanced over as he was getting up and took notice of the boy sitting across from Huo Mian.

He immediately felt antsy as he noticed they were smiling and having a good conversation. He then took his tray of food and fought his way through the crowd, all while the girls screamed excitedly and observed.

"Can you get up for a second?" Qin Chu looked at the boy and asked.

"Why should I?" the boy snapped back, unwilling to move.

"Because I want to eat with her." Qin Chu glanced at Huo Mian.

"I want to eat with her too." The boy was not backing down.

Qin Chu took out a meal card from his pocket and tossed it on the table. "There's five thousand yuan on here. Take this and go."

"Uh…." The boy was dumbstruck. He contemplated for a moment, what could he do with a five-thousand-yuan meal card? He could eat braised pork balls in brown sauce and fried carp with sweet and sour sauce every day, no problem!

"Deal!" The boy took the card and immediately walked away.

Qin Chu proudly sat down in front of Huo Mian.

"Kids these days lack some strength in their character," Huo Mian sighed with a smile. She then looked at Qin Chu and continued, "Benjamin Franklin, could you give me a meal card as well? I promise I'll disappear in a second as well."

"Stop kidding around, Honey," Qin Chu answered with much love and tenderness in his voice.

"Shh! Keep it down! We're exchange students right now, we don't even know each other."

Qin Chu couldn't help but smile. "You're so into it."

On the other side, Zhu Lingling was mingling well with the kids. She was crowned as the class belle, the best-looking girl, out of the class, which was quite a big honor in school back then and now.

However, the only thing was she would stutter when asked to provide answers by the teacher.

Gao Ran, on the other hand, did well in school and was also very athletic. Basketball, ping pong, you name it. He was good at all of them.

Zhu Lingling observed for a moment and sourly said, "Why doesn't this idiot just go straight to the gym? Why is he f*cking around here?"

Gao Ran then replied, "I'd very much like to do so to you." 

"F*ck, I'm going to peel your skin off!"

"Hey hey hey, watch your image, class belle," Gao Ran reminded Zhu Lingling, and she immediately dropped her violent gestures and gave Gao Ran a very lady-like smile.

"I won't be bothered with you."

On Qin Chu and Huo Mian's side, many students were discontented by the fact that they were eating together, especially the girls in Qin Chu's class.

"Isn't that girl also an exchange student? Why is Qin Ran eating with her when she's so average looking?"

"Maybe they know each other?" one of the girls guessed.

Huo Mian ate her lunch under the stares of many eyes and left the cafeteria in a hurry upon finishing.

She was about to return to the classroom, but instead, she ran into a familiar face – Wei Dong.

If it weren't for this encounter, Huo Mian would have completely forgotten his existence.

Huo Mian wasn't planning on saying anything as their last conversation had ended unhappily at Liu Siyi's wedding when she refused to help him.

It was no surprise that Wei Dong would be asked to participate in this program. After all, he was considered rich as well.

Beside him stood a young-looking girl. It had only been a couple of hours, and Wei Dong had already gotten intimate with a student. He was rather good at the art of pick-up lines, but little did he know that he would see Huo Mian here. 

"You… too?" Wei Dong trailed off when he suddenly remembered that the event was supposed to be a secret.

"Yes." Huo Mian nodded, her attitude distant. As she was about to walk away, Wei Doing called out, "Mian."

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry about last time, I was too impulsive."

"Last time? Sorry, I don't really remember what happened." Huo Mian then turned and walked up the stairs.

"Do you know her?" the shy girl asked Wei Doing.

"Oh, she's my neighbor," Wei Dong lied without thinking.

The first class after lunch was still math. Their homeroom teacher, who was also a math teacher, walked in with a thick stack of tests results.

"The morning test results are out, I'm so nervous," one of the students muttered under his breath.

Huo Mian, on the other hand, only stared at the board, her expression as calm as ever...
