"I agree and of course you can hug me…" Huo Mian smiled.

"Then wouldn't I be living off of you? Would you give me the cold-shoulder then?" Qin Chu teased.

"Huh? It's not the first day that you've been dependent on me!" Huo Mian said proudly.

Qin Chu: "…"

"Ever since you've become Deputy Director, you've become a lot more arrogant and my status at home has been diminishing…" Qin Chu teased again.

"So you should be glad I'm still Deputy Director. Wait until Director Wu retires in a few years and I become Director… Hahaha… Then I'd be the queen of the world and no one can disobey me!" Huo Mian said pridefully. 

"That's okay. I don't care if you're in hell or heaven, I will always be by your side, walking the same pace as you."

When Huo Mian heard Qin Chu's words, she smiled blissfully.

"Okay. Then I'll try to slow down so you don't fall behind…"

Huo Mian wasn't able to sleep the whole night. Now that she knew her child and husband were safe, she was able to sleep peacefully in Qin Chu's arms.

Qin Chu saw that she was sleeping so peacefully, he didn't want to wake her up so he carried her down to the sofa on the first floor.

Then, he got Uncle Li to get a blanket to cover Huo Mian.

"Young Master, should we carry Young Madam to her room?" Uncle Li thought it was a bit inappropriate for her to sleep in the living room.

Qin Chu shook his head and said, "There's no need for that. It's great she's sleeping so peacefully. You guys can leave the room but before you do, put some soft music and incense so she could sleep a bit longer."

"Yes, Young Master."

Just like how he was ordered, Uncle Li had all the servants in the house leave the room so Huo Mian could sleep on the sofa.

The music box in the living room played old English songs. The volume was low but the atmosphere was delicate. 

On the coffee table was a small incense burner with the relaxing smell coming out from it. Huo Mian was able to nap for a whole three hours.

She even dreamt of when she was small and went to the countryside with Zhixin to play. There was a clear river and little yellow wide flowers everywhere. In the sky were kites and there were also green paddy fields around.

Qin Chu wasn't sleepy at all, so after seeing Huo Mian fall asleep, he went upstairs.

"Chu, is your hand alright?" Yang Meirong saw Qin Chu come in so she asked amiably.

"I'm okay, Mom. You didn't sleep well last night. Go take some rest. I'll watch over the kids."

"You're still wounded. I'm not tired, so just leave them to me…" Yang Meirong knew Qin Chu loved his daughters very much but she was also worried about him after the car crash.

"It's okay. The wounds aren't a big deal. They'll heal in no time. Mian wrapped it up for me, so I'm fine."

When Yang Meirong saw how stubborn and determined Qin Chu was, she nodded and left the twins' room. She then headed downstairs to get lunch ready.

Pudding was now sound asleep, all curled up in the big bed.

Little Bean didn't want to sleep at all. Her eyes were wide open, and she was still getting IV. 

"Daddy, you're here…" Little Bean said in a cute voice.

"Mommy just gave you a needle shot. Did it hurt?" Qin Chu held onto Little Bean's hand and asked worriedly.
