Da Bai turned to An Lin with a peculiar expression, wondering why he was bringing up something like this.

However, to Da Bai's surprise, the woman was seemingly a little dazed upon hearing An Lin's question.

"Why… why am I dancing on top of a city wall?" she murmured to herself before her eyes suddenly lit up.

The woman's red dress fluttered as she stared into the distance with her beautiful, enticing eyes.

"I'm standing on the wall to wait for him, and I'm dancing so that he would be able to see me… What do you think of my dancing? Will he notice me? Will he see my dance and come back to me?"

Sun Yuluo was sobbing with tears. "What a moving story!"

An Lin and Da Bai's faces' darkened. "How is this moving in any way?"

This woman's fiance was clearly never going to return as tens of thousands of years had already passed since the era during which the Divine Dark Dao Sect was still around. Even if he hadn't died in battle, he would have died from old age.

He drew his longsword and rested the blade on the woman's snowy-white neck.

The woman in red stared blankly at Sun Yuluo with sorrow, confusion, and anger in her eyes. "Are you going to kill me?"

Sun Yuluo's hand trembled as he held onto his sword. "You're already dead, and so is your fiance. You shouldn't remain in this world!"

Tears flowed from the woman's eyes as she shook her head vigorously. "I don't believe you. He said he would come back, so he's definitely going to come back… I've waited for so long. What else can I do…"

Sun Yuluo was just about to say something when a sharp pain suddenly shot through his chest!

Blood splattered through the air and stained his blue robe red.

Sun Yuluo stared down with disbelief at his chest, where the woman's red sleeve had transformed into a sharp spear that had punctured his chest.

"Little Sun!" An Lin and Da Bai yelled in unison.

Everything had happened so spontaneously, giving them no time to react!

"You…" Sun Yuluo's eyes widened, and blood trickled down from the corner of his lips as he stared at the woman before him.

"Hehehe…" The woman's beautiful features were suddenly twisted by malice. "No one can stop me from waiting for his return! No one! If you want to kill me, then I'll send you to your grave first!"

Right at this moment, a white figure descended from the sky.

"Wind Sword!" An Lin suddenly flashed toward them, and his Evil-Slaying Sword instantly punctured the woman's chest, leaving an inky-black afterimage in its wake. "We're not trying to kill you, you're already dead! If you're dead, then you don't belong to this world. Perhaps the person you're waiting for is also waiting for you in the other world."

"R… really?" The malice on the woman's face slowly disappeared.

The woman's red sleeve gradually returned to its former state, and an elated smile appeared on her face as she stared at An Lin. "Is that true? Is he really going to be waiting for me elsewhere? It has been so long… what if he has already forgotten about me?"

"That's right, he's waiting for you there. If he has forgotten about you, dance for him, and he'll be able to remember," An Lin said with a smile.

This was the first time he had ever placated a ghost in his life.

The female ghost nodded lightly upon hearing this, as if she truly had been convinced. She took a few steps back and performed her final dance to farewell this world.

Her dance was extremely elegant and gorgeous, lighting up the entire gloomy city.

"So beautiful…" An Lin and Da Bai were both entranced.

A voice suddenly sounded at this moment.

"Um… Sword Immortal An Lin, I think… I might need some emergency treatment…"

A stuttering, agonized voice sounded.

Only then did An Lin and Da Bai recall that Little Sun had just been stabbed in the heart!

"I'm currently treating you, and if you want to live, you better shut your mouth!" An Lin glowered.

Sun Yuluo immediately shut his mouth and stared at An Lin like a startled chicken.

"I really do need to learn not to judge a book by its cover…

"The more beautiful a woman is, the more cruel and vicious they could be…"

Sun Yuluo suddenly muttered again.

An Lin: "…"

If he could, An Lin really wanted to just ditch Sun Yuluo and leave him to fend for himself.

Thankfully, An Lin was able to save Sun Yuluo's life after some treatment.

Everyone made their way out of the city and were at a bit of a loss as they looked at the boundless, inky-black world laid out before them.

Thankfully, all of them had prepared eternal direction indicators, so they did not get lost.

"Where do we go next?" Sun Yuluo asked.

Da Bai sniffed the air with his sensitive nose. "To the northeast!"

Sun Yuluo was astonished. "You can even smell ghosts?"

"The yin energy there is very dense, so there may be something important there, woof!" Da Bai spoke in an excited voice.

"Alright, to the northeast it is then."

An Lin had also sensed something out of the ordinary in that direction, and he continued onward atop Da Bai's back.
