Not long after that, both of them walked out of the mountain range. Up ahead was Jian Wen City. It was a small city, but it appeared to be prosperous and abundant. There were a lot of business vendors bustling about.

Xiao Tianfan led Ling Chuxi directly to the Xiao Residence.

"Second elder cousin brother, I heard that you went to look for a way to cure Grandfather. Why are you back so fast, and what have you done to yourself? Hmph!" Upon entering the courtyard, an eighteen or nineteen year old maiden came over and spoke sarcastically.

The young maiden had beautiful, delicate features, but anyone could hear the barbs and harshness in her words. Noticing Xiao Tianfan's disheveled condition, her expression turned even more mocking.

Xiao Tianfan glanced at her indifferently and did not say anything.

"Hmph, all that talk about finding a way to save Grandfather, but you end up bringing a woman back instead." The young girl did not let her off either, jealous of Ling Chuxi's stunning appearance.

"This is my friend." Xiao Tianfan could not resist providing an explanation.

"Grandfather's illness is severe and everyone in the family is worried to death, yet you still have the gall to bring a woman back ?" The young girl scoffed in disdain as if she did not hear what he had said earlier.

"Xiao Tianwen!" Xiao Tianfan raised his voice, his expression icy.

The young girl's expression changed and she instinctively took a step backwards, but recovered and raised her head arrogantly. "What, do you dare hit me again? Do you think you're so great just because you reached the realm of Great Fulfilment? You went to Nan Xia Country but ended up being defeated by a young maiden with a single finger. Don't think I don't know anything. You were pretending to be powerful in front of us, but you are still just useless!"

The young girl's words were merciless, and they pierced Xiao Tianfan's sore spot. Xiao Tianfan's face paled. 

Ling Chuxi also felt quite awkward. If it was someone else it would not matter, but she was actually the culprit that had defeated Xiao Tianfan with one finger. Looking at Xiao Tianfan's similarly awkward expression, Ling Chuxi did not know if she should say anything.

"Tianwen, stop making a fuss." A stern, majestic voice rang out suddenly and a middle-aged man walked over.
