"Ah!" The assistant regained his senses. They had come to bet on Nan Xia Country winning, so they probably were citizens from Nan Xia Country! He had been talking non-stop in front of her, so he really did deserve a beating. The assistant flashed her an embarrassed smile. "Just joking. Those were all jokes just now. My lady, you are a kind person with a big heart. Please do not take this to heart."0

"Hmph!" Ling Chuxi let out a snort. She glared coldly at the assistant, then turned and left.

Ling Chuxi had just taken a few steps when a delighted voice sounded from nearby: "Miss Ling, is that you?"

Ling Chuxi turned her head and saw a seventeen or eighteen-year-old man looking at her excitedly. He looked a little familiar, but she could not remember where they had met before. However, looking at the two well-dressed guards standing next to him,he was most likely not from an ordinary family.

"May I ask, who are you?" Ling Chuxi asked finally. This fellow had way too much to say. He was like a fly that kept buzzing beside her ear. If not for the fact that he had said that he wanted to treat them to a meal, she would not have bothered with him at all.

"Don't you guys remember me? I am Li Shaoqiu." The young man looked disappointed.

"Turns out it is Mister Li. I have not seen you for a few days and Mister Li looks more handsome than before. I almost could not recognize you," Ling Chuxi casually laughed, still unable to recall who he was. Of course, it did not matter who he was, as long as he treated them to a meal.

"Miss Ling, you guys wait for me first. I will treat you to a meal after placing my bet. I've waited very long for this opportunity." The young man named Li Shaoqiu did not realize how insincere Ling Chuxi's words were. He looked at them admiringly, obviously overjoyed.

Ling Chuxi and the rest had also stopped walking. Looking at the design of the light carriage which had been hit, it looked like it bore the symbol of Nan Xia Country, while the other carriage had the symbol of Wan Chuan Country.

"Ah! That's my carriage!" Li Shaoqiu cried out.

"What's wrong with you? Do you not have eyes?" Li Shaoqiu looked at his carriage which was almost falling apart. His face was red as he shouted at the coachman of the Wan Chuan Country carriage who was wearing a guard's uniform. It was fortunate that he had not been in the carriage earlier, otherwise, he might have been seriously injured, if not dead!
