Back at Torak's office, Raine drankher milk like an obedient child. When she finally put down her empty glass, she looked at Calleb and grinned.

"I didn't expect that woman here." Raine said defensively before Calleb could speak. She felt like the Gamma would accuse her of causing trouble.

"Don't worry." Calleb waved his hand dismissively. "I had her handled."

Just now Calleb noticed that Raine was actually quite mischievous and talkative. Ever since the day she could talk again, she has tons of questions for every conversation.However, Raine would only act that way when she was with Raphael or Calleb. Of course she would talk more to Torak than she did to the two of them, yet when she was with someone she didn't know, she tended to be as quiet as an ant.

"Really? I didn't cause trouble, right?" Raine jumped from Torak's seat and went to sit beside Calleb on the sofa.

"No. After all, what kind of trouble can you make in Torak's company? If anything, Torak will just have her memories erased." But they would need Belinda to do that job, just like when Torak killed someone at the hospital.

"Is the mate bond that strong? Until Torak can't bear to get mad at me?" Raine pulled her legs close to her chest and hugged them out of habit.

"You can put it that way." Calleb knew that in Torak and Raine's case, the mate bond only worked on Torak. But at this rate, who cares about the mate bond when Raine was so clingy towards Torak.

"Will the mate bond ever disappear?" Raine asked curiously.

Calleb frowned. "I have never heard of the mate bond disappearing." He answered truthfully. "Why do you ask that?"

Calleb assumed based onRaine's sullen face that there was something moreto her question.

"Nothing." Raine shrugged her shoulder, trying to act nonchalant yet failing miserably. "Serefina said if there was no mate bond between Torak and I, Torak would have killed me already because he doesn't like weak creatures." Raine confided.

"Nah, don't think too much about what that witch told you." Calleb snorted when she mentioned Serefina's name. "Torak will not kill you even if you are not his mate. This era we live in now is not the same era like centuries ago when you can roam around and kill anyone that annoys you." He tried to explain it simply.

"But Aeon said the same thing." Raine mumbled. She remembered that both Serefina and Aeon told her the same thing and those words kept bothering her.

"Yeah, both of them are annoying." Calleb slouched against the sofa and turned on the television. "You shouldn't take annoying people's words seriously."

Hearing Calleb's statement made Raine chuckle. She turned to watch the television instead of pursuing the topic further.

Not too long after that, when Raine and Calleb were enjoying watching a reality show program, someone pushed open the door. Raine turned her head while Calleb continued watching since he already knew who was coming.

"Torak!" Raine's smile bloomed from ear to ear as she rushed towards her mate.

In no time Raine had her arms wrapped around Torak's neck like a baby octopus as she giggled happily. She was very happy today.

"What a pleasant surprise, my love." Torak couldn't help but smile seeing how happy Raine was. Everything that makes his mate happy makes him feel the same way, even if it was not related to him.

Torak peppered small kisses on her ear that were ticklish it made Raine giggle more.

Raphael wondered at how different Raine seemed today. He placed a pile of documents on top of the table thensat beside Calleb.

"What happened to Luna? She looks incredibly happy today." Raphael asked Calleb, who didn't spare a single glance at the love birds.

"She passed the exam." Replied Calleb curtly, his focus still on the television. "But pretend that you don't know. She wants to tell Torak first about this." He added when Raphael was about to approach Raine and congratulate her.

Raphael, who almost stood up, sat down again and looked at Calleb in confusion. "And how did you know if Luna didn't tell you?"

Lazily Calleb glanced at the Beta. "She has been acting that way ever since she saw the exam result. What else do you think the result of the exam would be?" He explained with an 'it's so obvious' tone.

Meanwhile, Raine dragged Torak to his leather chair, sat on his lap and opened the University's web.

"Look, I passed!" Raine pointed at the result of her exam with the word 'passed' at the end. Her score was quite high that she couldn't help but brag about it.

"I know you will, my love." Actually, Torak had known about Raine's score before she didbut he would never let her know. He hugged her, careful not to squash her body. "What do you want as a gift?"

Torak would give her anything and everything she wanted right away. He loved spoiling her.

Raine looked at Torak seriously. "Can I ask for anything?"

"Of course." Torak ran his fingers along her black hair. "Anything for you."

Raine thought hard about it and, seeingher brows wrinkle in deliberation, Torak chuckled. "No need to think that hard, I didn't say you can only ask for one thing."

That means Raine could make a list of the things that she wanted and Torak would grant her all of them.

However, there was only one thing that Raine really wanted. "Can I tell you on my birthday?" She asked.

"You can ask for another gift on your birthday."

"No. I really want this on my birthday."
