THEY MUST FOLLOW YOU
Not only Cane left with Iris, but he also took alpha Dristan and some of the warriors from the Red Claw pack too, leaving Koda in this pack. He was an insignificant person in this whole project, he was even no longer a beta of the pack.
Sir Elijah and his warriors also went to the Howling Wolf pack as well, which meant, all the labor duty and everything related to the build up of magical device at the tunnel would be Lou responsibility.
It would be a long entourage and there would be a welcoming party for the king in the pack.
At this point, Lou felt like an abandon child, who was being left alone to get the chore done. He felt sick to his stomach, knowing he fell straight to Cane's trap and now he was trapped here!
"Damn you, Cane! Damn it!" Lou threw anything that he could reach and smash it against the wall, while Sabian tried to calm down his master.
"Master, you need to calm down, you need to calm down, or else someone will hear you cursing the alpha from the Howling Wolf pack," Sabian said desperately. He had warned Lou about this, but he didn't take it seriously, thinking he could counterattack whatever plot Cane threw at him, but as it turned out, Cane was too cunning for him to handle.
More so, people in the Riverside pack were in favor of the alpha after they were fed and clothed, the luna also contributed with the effort and was in good terms with the people in this pack. They would be in trouble if they heard Lou cussed the alpha out.
Lou grumbled, he paced back and forth, his skin was itchy, as a burning rage crept on his skin.
"Master, why do you so interest in that woman? You know the alpha likes her, you will put yourself in trouble if you pursued her, right?" Sabian couldn't understand this. His master was usually very cautious and didn't act out of impulse, but right now, he chased a woman like a madman, knowing who that woman belonged to.
"I want her," Lou grumbled in frustration.
And that was the answer he would give Sabian, whenever he asked. Ended the question. It was only Lou himself, who knew why he really wanted Iris in the first place and no one could pry the truth out of his mouth if he was not willing.
==========================
Iris entered the carriage and was surprised to see it. "Is this… the same carriage as before?"
The interior and the exterior of the carriage had changed and the crest of the Riverside pack had changed into a black wolf, which was a symbol of the Howling Wolf pack, but Iris was sure this was the same carriage.
"Yes," Cane nodded, as he entered the carriage as well and sat down next to her.
Iris tilted her head at him and frowned. "Why? You took the carriage of the alpha from the Riverside's carriage? I thought, you don't want this thing because…" Iris's voice trailed off, but Cane understood what she wanted to say.
"I have asked people to clean and change a few things in this carriage, Haco had done his job too to clean up everything," Cane explained. "More so, this carriage made of a rare and expensive wood, it will be a waste if I don't use it."
This carriage must have been used by the alpha to sleep with countless women during his journey, it was kind of disgusting, but then it was built with expensive wood and was designed beautifully, it was built in such a way, which made the passenger was comfortable inside.
Cane didn't like to waste such good things, more so, Haco had put spell around this carriage as well. It was a waste of effort if he threw it away.
"So, this carriage belongs to you now?"
"This is an official carriage for our pack."
Iris was slightly taken aback with the way Cane said 'our pack', but the alpha had immersed himself with all the reports that flooded in from all the spies that he put in various places.
Aside from the former six spies, Arthur had trained more spies for Cane to use, that was what Iris had learned when she read his reports. Cane knew she was reading them and didn't mind it.
"I don't know if you are into a luxurious thing," Iris stated.
"Everything has its own value." That was how Cane saw things.
And with that the half day journey to the Howling Wolf pack began. They would return to the pack after almost four months away.
If Iris was correct, the woman would be around six months pregnant, it would be another three months before the baby was born and they knew the truth that it was not Cane's baby.
But, during that time, all the pack would treat the woman like she was a savior, just because they thought she was carrying the firstborn from their alpha, an heir.
An heir was so important for a man in this world, that was why, many men in high position had more than one woman, aside from their own mate.
"Cane." Iris tugged his sleeve, calling his name in small voice.
Cane knew how to read people, that was how he could get himself out of trouble, thus he knew when Iris was being conflicted and something was bothering her mind. 1
"What is it?" He put down the report and gave her his whole attention.
"I don't think your pack will accept me."
"Because of that woman?" Cane didn't even mention her name. He watched how Iris nodded. "You are their luna, you don't need their acceptance. They must follow you."
Iris was frustrated to read what he said. It was easy for him to say that when people followed him without a second thought.
"People assume she is carrying your child." Iris grew agitated when she mentioned that.
