THERE IS MORE ABOUT IT
The lycan could smell his scent from far away, but he was too busy to stare at the woman before his eyes, touching her soft skin to make sure she was real, basking himself in her presence and her sweet scent, though she looked so confused, but he missed her confused expression too.
Only when Haco opened his mouth and spoke, he paid him some attention. "Long time no see, old friend." Cane smirked, the corner of his lips tugged upward viciously.
"What do you mean old friend, we are not friend," Haco said, as he approached them and the beta and gamma followed behind him, they were not sure what was going on, but from the way Iris reacted, it was something crucial.
"Are you sure?" Cane asked, he grinned in amusement to see the realization finally dawn on the sorcerer.
Ethan and Jace glanced at each other, because Cane didn't use to be so expressive. He was smiling and grinning now.
"No way… no, there is no way this is happening…" Haco staggered back, as if he was afraid to come closer to Cane, until he fell on his butt.
"What is it?" Jace demanded. Ethan came to find him when he looked for Haco, at the same time, he managed to take care of the situation in the pack, so it wouldn't escalate further, while Kaz and the other had been sent to dungeon per Cane's instruction.
There wouldn't be someone, who would disrespect Iris anymore, right? They would think thrice before they did so.
However, the problem with Sofia had not been solved, he was not sure whether he had to move her from the luna's bedroom or not, because Cane didn't give any instruction relating to her, he only said to leave the matter, as if it was not his concern where that woman was sleeping.
"No way… no way…" Haco shook his head, but his eyes fixed on Cane.
"What do you mean? You irk me now." Ethan scouted down and followed Haco's line of sight, aside from Cane's strange behavior and his red eyes, he didn't find anything that could make this sorcerer as shock as this. He was literally so pale, as if he was seeing a ghost. "Mind to explain why are you like this?"
Meanwhile, Cane stood up and stalked toward the sorcerer.
"It has been a while and you look so old," Cane said, amusement dripped from his words and Haco was still in denial.
On the other hand, Iris knew that she was right. She had done something to make the lycan came to the surface and now it was him, who occupied Cane's consciousness.
"Damn it! How can you do this?!" Haco cussed under his breath. "What you have done to the alpha?!"
Ethan and Jace frowned so hard, they felt like they had missed a lot of things when the conversation between Cane and Haco barely started.
"I did nothing, my moon is the one, who had done it." Cane's eyes filled with warm when he talked about Iris. He glanced over his shoulder to see Iris stood up from the ground and approached them, but when he extended his hand for her to take, Iris ignored it, which made him sullen again.
"Iris, what you have done?" Haco asked, his question was akin to a whisper, as he was still in so much shock. "Iris, whatever you have done, this is not right, this is too dangerous…"
Cane grabbed Iris's waist when she was about to lower herself so she could talk with the sorcerer about what happened.
"Wait! What is actually going on here?" Jace asked in frustration because even Ethan had no clue about this situation. "Cane, why do you have red color? This is not new moon yet."
"He is not your alpha, beta. He is the lycan," Haco said.
"Oh, crap!"
==============================
They were currently in the alpha's study room, staring at Cane, who curled himself in front of the fireplace, resting his head on Iris's laps, sleeping.
"What now?" Jace asked, he stared at Cane, but his mind was blank, he didn't know what to think, while Ethan was completely speechless. This was not something he expected to happen in the middle of the urgent situation.
There were a lot of things that needed Cane's approval and no plan would work if they didn't know what the end goal of it, since Cane didn't explain more than they should know in order to finish the task they were given.
It was Cane, who knew about the bigger picture of the whole plot, but now he was… gone? Was that the right word to say for his condition?
"Haco, do something, is this temporary thing or what?" Jace was frustrated beyond word.
Meanwhile, the sorcerer stared at Iris, who had been very silence ever since she told them about what happened, but he had this inkling that Iris didn't tell them the truth.
She only said Cane suddenly dropped to the ground and the lycan appeared in his stead. No, that was not something possible to happen without any prior action that caused it.
"Can both of you leave? I need to think about this matter, I can't think if you keep pestering me about a solution that I don't have now," Haco grumbled, he chased the two of them away. "Both of you have a lot of things to do, right? Go now and take care of your assignment." He shooed them away. "Keep demanding me now will not help with anything. Go away."1
Ethan and Jace were grumbling and arguing a few more before they finally left the room. The beta made a nice gesture to pat Iris on her shoulder, as if telling her to not mind with what happened before. Iris didn't respond to that.
"So? Will you tell me what actually happened?" Haco asked Iris once Ethan and Jace had left the room. "There is more about it, right?"
"Yes. There is more."
