Iris could feel there were a lot of black magic stone once they entered the mountain area, the deeper they went inside, the stronger the feeling was. It was almost suffocating. 

At first, she thought, Haco did something, since he spent some time in the mountain, though Iris was not sure what he was doing here, but then the amount of the black magic stone was too much. There was no way Cane would give a lot of access to magic stone to that sorcerer. 

"How many?" Cane asked, his voice was stern, but his expression was devoid from any emotions. 

Meanwhile, the king and lady Cyan rode ahead of them, they were talking to each other, as the king complained about a lot of things and the mistress listened to that rubbish. 

"Thirty… forty… I am not sure." Iris furrowed her brows deeply, as she was being a little bit agitated with this ominous feeling. 

Cane nodded, but he didn't say anything. He was very quiet, something that he used to do whenever he was deep in thought, even the air around him became so reserved.

"How strong the black magic stones are? Can you tell?" If it was black magic stone, Iris should be able to handle them, as long as they were not very deathly, like the one Haco had created the last time. 

"I am not sure…" Iris replied honestly, aside from those magic stone that Haco had created for her to practice, she had never touched another creation of black magic stone from another sorcerer. She didn't even know how many she could handle. 

Iris took a mental note to ask Haco to teach her more about the power she had. She didn't have time to ask about that because the sorcerer was pretty busy nowadays and so did she, especially with the matter of the member of this pack and the lycan, those things drained her energy. 

"I don't think those stones are not so deathly, but there are so many of them…" Iris explained, she could only say that much about her own ability. 

"Okay." Cane nodded and became very silent again.

Meanwhile alpha Dristan frowned with the conversation between them. He couldn't hear anything, as the two of them spoke in a very low voice, they literally read each other lips, something that he couldn't pick up. 

This large group went deeper into the forest and Iris was right when she said they went straight to where she could feel those black magic stones. 

"My king, why don't we take a rest for a while here?" Cane suggested when they crossed a brook. They were in the clearing area, there was not many trees here. 

The king stopped his horse and then gave his attention to Cane, after he ignored him a whole time because of his tardiness. 

This didn't feel like going to hunt, but they simply took a leisure walk inside the mountain, since the king and his people didn't seem to be interested to look for the white fox. 

"What? Don't tell me you are tired already, you have come so late and now you want to rest?" King Aeon narrowed his eyes dangerously, but it barely affected Cane, as he replied. 

"My mate has weak body, if something happened to her during our journey, I will need to go back with her."

"Ask one of your men to take her away if she can't handle it!" the king barked, but it was lady Cyan, who spoke to calm the situation down. 

"Why don't we take a rest for a while, my king? Luna Iris looked unwell, if something happened to her alpha Cane will be distraught." Lady Cyan smiled to calm the king. 

So, it was Iris. 

Cane intentionally threw Iris out as his excuse to taste the water and now, he could tell that lady Cyan's target was his mate. What she was up to? Did she want to know whether or not Iris could sense the black magic stone like she did back then when she found the black magic stone in princess Osana's quarter?

If it was him, who she wanted, this mistress wouldn't have stopped the king to send Iris away, but the fact she agreed to stop for a break in order for Iris to come with them, she most likely lured his mate to those black magic stones. 

What was her intention? Iris's power? What she could do with that?

"Do you bring it with you?" Cane asked Iris when he helped her to get off the horse, as the king begrudgingly granted them ten minutes of break. 

"Yes." Iris patted her pocket, where she could feel her lizard squirmed inside. 

It was not a wise choice, but Cane needed all the reassurance to keep his mate protected, more so, this little creature was docile enough once you fed it. 

"And the other?" Cane asked and Iris patted her left hips, where her silver dagger rested. "Good job," Cane said, leaning over to kiss her lips before he took Iris's hand to sit on a big rock. 

But, they barely had time for themselves when alpha Dristan came with his new mistress, he looked distress. "I have sent someone to ask for help, but I am not sure he managed to get out of this mountain, there are a lot of royal warriors, who could stop him on the way."

Cane was aware of that, but he was sure, Avid could find a way, he was familiar with the terrain in the mountain. Meanwhile, Eron and Dyne hovered close to them, ready to take Iris away if things went south. 

"But, the last mindlink I received from my warrior, he said, he saw your warriors marched toward the mountain, did you manage to call them? Did you know this beforehand?"0

"My warriors?" Cane frowned, his expression became rigid. Something was completely wrong. It was too quick for Avid to get out of the mountain and marched with the Howling Wolf pack's warriors.
