3Iris had sensed this ominous feeling, but a second ago, she felt like the feeling intensified and amplified a hundred folds, as if something sharp was stabbed through her chest, the pain was excruciating, though it only last for a few second, but it was enough for her to lose control over her body and fell from her horse. 

If it was not for Cane, who caught her fall, she would have sustained serious injuries from falling from such height. 

Her body was twitching and her ears were ringing, the noise made her head throbbed in agony. The torment lasted for at least three to four seconds, but Iris felt like hours had passed before she finally opened her eyes and saw Cane's worried expression. 

She had never seen him so worried like right now. 

"You defend yourself so well, I am so curious about your origin now." Lady Cyan tilted her head, as she looked at Iris with so much curiosity. 

"What have you done to her?!" Cane growled. He cradled Iris in his arms, as she whimpered in pain and clutched his front shirt tightly, her body was trembling and the alpha also had a hard time to reign the anger from the lycan within him. This cursed creature forced himself to resurface. 

However, lady Cyan seemed to be deep in thought, she mumbled to herself. The aura that surrounded her almost like a maniac, it was so different from the figure she tried to portray in front of the public. 

"She should have died with such strong curse, but she doesn't. How could a runt do that? No, even a shifter or an average magic user will not be able to withstand that. Is she that powerful or is that only the nature of her ability? Could she extend her ability to someone else?" Lady Cyan directed her eyes at Cane, as she contemplated something, from the tip of her her fingers you could see red wisp fluttered in the air. 

The Howling Wolf pack warriors were on high alert with how things escalated, it went south so fast. They didn't see this coming, neither they prepared for this kind of situation. 

But a second later, two warriors screamed in agony, as they fell from their horses. Their scream didn't last long, as their body dropped dead to the ground. 

"I don't think she can extend her power," lady Cyan lamented. 

Meanwhile, the last seven warriors of the Howling Wolf pack snarled, they were enraged to see their fellow warriors died in such state. 

"She should have died like that, but it is so impressive, she can withhold my curse." Lady Cyan tapped her lips, contemplating of Iris's unique ability. 

Seeing their friends died, one of the warriors charged forward to attack lady Cyan. He was in his beast form, but before he could reach the witch, five royal warriors charged forward and fought him brutally. 

The rest six warriors snarled and two of them charged forward to help their friend, but more and more royal warriors interfered. 

There were only Oliver, Dyne, Eron and Dean, the last four warriors, who stayed back, as they bounded with their duty to protect their alpha and their luna. 

Meanwhile, Cane was having a hard time to breath when Lu forcefully came forward. He couldn't let the lycan out if he could help it and Iris could sense his struggle, as she was already calm enough from the aftermath of the curse, since lady Cyan didn't have her focus on her. 

The fight didn't last for long, as the four of them were forcefully watched their fellow warriors were being slaughtered. It could be their end too, but even so, they must die in order to find a way out for their alpha and luna. Therefore, they couldn't leave their position. 

It was anguish when they had to watch everything unfolded before their eyes, it almost felt like they were thrown back to the moment of their slavery. They were forced to watch their close one died without being able to do anything. 

That was what happened right now. 

"Cane, focus on me," Iris said, she grabbed his hand, as she sat down. His hands were so cold, but the color of his eyes was still so dark. Cane shook his head, as if he was trying to get rid an intrusive thought. 

"Lady Cyan!" alpha Dristan cried, as he fell to his knees, begging the witch. "I will not say anything about this! I will not say anything whatever will happen here! Spare my life and I will be your loyal ally!"

At this point, there was no way out of this situation, it was either you became an ally of this witch or you were going to die, since she had revealed so much about herself, a secret that the mistress had been keeping for so many years. 

See? This was what Cane meant, when he said there was nothing such as loyalty between the two of them, there was only profit and benefit. Their cooperation wouldn't last for long once they didn't see the benefit from it. 

And for alpha Dristan right now, his life was way more important than anything else. It was so embarrassing to see how an alpha from the Red Claw pack, the richest pack in this continent, groveled for his life. 

Meanwhile, the king was so obvious that he was a backdrop. He said and did nothing, as his expression remained angry, yet it was very clear for them now that he was under the witch's spell, as he didn't get a better grip of this whole situation. 

"You want to be my ally?" Lady Cyan repeated the words and Dristan nodded his head eagerly. He couldn't careless about Cane and the other. 

"My lady, I am the richest alpha in this continent, having me as an ally will be a great benefit for you tremendously," alpha Dristan started blabbering all the sweet offerings for the witch. "I will support prince Alan to be the crown prince. I will make sure the Red Claw pack will not interfere with the succession of your son."

It was Koda's grandson, who was appointed as the new crown prince and alpha Dristan thought, it was a great offer, since it was him and Cane, who had dethroned the previous crown prince, which no other than the only son of this witch. 

The only personal warrior of alpha Dristan also knelt down beside him, bending his body until his head touched the ground, begging for his life. 

"It was alpha Cane, who had planned everything, he was also the one, who had…"

Yet, alpha Dristan didn't have a chance to finish his word when his head detached from his body. Blood burst out from his headless body, splashed the ground with the color of red and the air contaminated with this metallic smell. 

Everything happened too fast, no one had time to process, not even alpha Dristan himself when Cane ripped his head apart from his body, as his claw still embedded on his shoulder and his other hand held his head. 

The sight was gruesome to say the least and the alpha looked more than feral. He looked crazy and no one saw this coming, even Iris. 

She watched how Cane held alpha Dristan's head in his hand and the dead eyes stared at her. She could feel her heart beat so fast against her chest, yet, she didn't make any noise, as she gritted her teeth and balled her fists to get a grip of the situation. 

She tried to calm herself down and not to be panic, this was not the first time for her to see such gory sight. 

Meanwhile, the other four warriors gasped, but this was not something that he had never seen before. To their surprise, their luna looked level headed enough, she could compose herself upon seeing this. 

It was actually the new mistress of alpha Dristan, who was sobbing against Dyne's chest, as she closed her eyes tightly, her whole body was trembling. 

"You can have him," Cane said callously, as he threw alpha Dristan's head toward lady Cyan. He actually hit her waist, which made the blood sprayed all over her dress and face. 

Lady Cyan was not a warrior, she was lack of physical reflex, thus she couldn't dodge that and this made the woman looked so mad. The look on her face was so eerie with blood stained her skin. 

"Here, another part of him." Cane threw alpha Dristan's body as well, but this time, lady Cyan saw that and immediately jumped to the side to avoid it. 

If they were stuck in this situation, Cane didn't need an ally turned traitor like Dristan. At this point, when what matter the most was their lives, he could die for all he cared, since he was going to expose the deal between the two of them. 

Lady Cyan was already a handful, he didn't need another threat. If Dristan would do more harm than good, it would be better to get rid of him sooner than later. 

"HOW DARE YOU!" The witch was furious and she aimed her anger at Iris instead, because she didn't want to kill Cane just yet and Iris was the better option to hurt this alpha. After seeing their interaction all this time, she knew how much Cane cared about his mate. 

Iris's body fell to the ground, as she curled herself and let out an ear splitting scream that could make you shiver, as though you could feel her pain. 

Far away… the five swords cracked.
