I ONLY WANT TO HEAR HIS VOICE
Haco held this young boy's hand, as he kept mumbling something incoherently about his sister, it seemed, she was the only person that he cared and worried the most, even in his last breath.
"Don't worry, young man, I will look after your sister, you can rest now," Haco said in comforting tone. Patting his shoulder to ease him. "I will tell your sister how brave you are, you can go in your long mission now."
With that, the young warrior's breathing became even and gradually, he breathed his last, while Haco held his hand.
Though, his life was so short and he had so much worried about his little sister, Haco was there to make sure he didn't die alone and he knew that his sister would be taken care for.
Haco felt so helpless. He should have killed the beast sooner, but their enemy moved so fast and he couldn't catch up with his movement, especially when he felt like he grew weaker and weaker day by day.
The old sorcerer used to live on his own, thus to have this kind of attachment to someone else made him realized how lonely and alone his life had been in the past five decades. It didn't mean he regretted it, but it showed him how to be human again and have someone to be cared of.
Haco took off his cloak and put it on his body, before he continued to walk ahead and find Cane. He suppressed his sadness.
In the end, there was nothing he could do to change the outcome. This young warrior fought bravely. He deserved so much more, so did those people, who died in a battle.
With difficulty, Haco moved closer toward the source, where this black wisp appeared, as he watched how the person that he thought, he would never see again was there.
"Zeke?" Haco called his name in disbelieve, but his voice was too weak and this person was too preoccupied to perform his dark magic on the alpha to be able to notice his presence.
Zeke was his senior in the Holy Kingdom when Haco was still sorcerer there. They were so close at that time, as they became like a brother to each other.
More than fifty years had passed now and their appearance had changed, but Haco still managed to recognize him in a glance.
Never in his wild imagination, he would think Zeke would become a dark sorcerer. He was the most brilliant young sorcerer at that time and it was an honor for Haco to be close with him.
Too shocked to react, Haco didn't do his task immediately, as he stared at his senior in the distance, while the alpha was still kneeling on the ground not too far.
Right at that time, all of them were startled when they heard loud sound of footsteps in the distance. From the sound of it, you could tell, there were more than five creatures that dashed toward this direction. Their heavy footsteps also disclosed that it was not an ordinary creature, as the ground was shaking.
It was most likely monsters, but of course, not the small one….
"Oh, shit! What now?!" Haco cursed under his breath when he watched the vogue figure of Geromine and Vermeyes among the trees, as the latter's head appeared on top of the trees within the cloud of the black wisp. "Shit! Shit!"
Haco immediately rushed toward Cane and performed his own magic. He pushed back thousand of question in his mind about what the reason Zeke was here and what he was doing on Cane. Did he know about the lycan in him?
==================================
Iris felt like she lived in flashes of memories, as she walked through one after the other, she felt like she revived the lost memories that she had never had.
"Serafim… how can you do that?" Rei was in disbelieve, he looked at the woman in front of him and was not sure how to feel and what to do upon hearing the revelation from her. "You shouldn't have done that… you know that against the nature."
Na lowered her head, she was so ashamed of her action, she didn't dare to look at Rei in the eyes. Tears streamed down her face and the sight made Rei became even more helpless, as he felt his heart softened.
"You create a chance for Decratic to be revived again, you know that, right?"
"I know." Na's voice was so low, it sounded like a whisper, but in this empty room, which only the two of them, it was loud and clear enough for Rei to understand what kind of great offense the Serafim had done.
"Na, you know that after what you have done, there will be another Serafim that appeared, until Decratic is destroyed completely, only then the circle will stop." Rei only wanted to make sure that she understood the consequences of her action.
"I know." Na's voice was shaking.
"The Serafim that comes after you will not be as powerful as you, Na… you know that."
Na nodded, she felt even more ashamed and guilty when Rei said it clearly the consequences of her reckless and impulsive decision.
"In that case, how can the other Serafim destroy Decratic?" Rei looked helpless and frustrated, he wanted to hug her so tightly to ease her pain, but it was not appropriate for him to do so. He cared for her more than anything else in this world, more than the Holy Kingdom itself.
He would be more than willing to go to hell if that was her order.
This level of loyalty was something that Na knew really well from him, that was why, she confessed this deepest and darkest action that she had ever done as a Serafim to him. She didn't have strength to bear it alone. 1
"Why are you putting yourself in this situation?"
"I want to hear his voice. I only want to hear his voice…"
