A HORRENDOUS NIGHT
"Damn it! Damn it!" Jace growled when he heard the howling in the distance, as he gritted his teeth and stared at the sky. It was new moon. He was worried about Cane too and what happened with him, but right now he couldn't think about anything else, aside from how to survive this battle.
Those warriors almost immortal! How they couldn't die? Unless, they cut their head off in one clean move or ripped their heart apart, they would heal so fast, even for a shifter, the speed of their healing was insane.
In the distance, a warrior shifted back into his human form and approached Jace and Redmond hastily, his expression was a sheer of panic and mortified. "Beta Jace!" he called with shaking voice. "The enemy has managed to break into the pack and now they marched toward the pack house!"
"What about the pack member, have they all been evacuated?"
"Yes," he replied, but then he looked hesitant.
"What is it? Do you still have time to be hesitant to tell something at time like this?!" Redmond snapped, he was extremely agitated. He was so hurt of the betrayal, but to kill those people, whom he had been with for decades still didn't settle well with him.
However, the situation forced him to do so and he knew, he did the right thing. He knew where he stood and he made it clear.
The warrior glanced at Redmond and spoke with a little bit of hesitation. "I think your warrior knew where the safe place, it doesn't matter if we evacuated them, if they are going to kill us all, it will only a matter of time before they found the rest of the pack member and slaughtered them."
That was true. If their intention was to execute them, they wouldn't spare a single soul and now with the alpha was away and the constant death in their part, their moral decreased significantly, though Jace tried to keep it up, but it was clear to see how the beta was also under distress.
"The front warrior will not be able to hold them back if they are already inside the pack!" Redmond stated the obvious, as all of them could hear the loud sound of battle was moving closer rapidly.
The air was contaminated with thick metallic scent and the ground was stained by their decapitated bodies. They were going to be defeated if they couldn't stop them, but then, there was nothing they could do to fight such warriors that was hard to be killed.
"Pull back and concentrated the defense around the valley, we will defend the safe place!" Jace growled the order. There was no guarantee they would be able to save their pack member, neither they had a chance to fight them off for long, since their number had decreased significantly.
But at the very least, they tried until the reinforcement came, if there was any, or until their last breath.
"Yes, beta!" The warrior immediately shifted back and rushed away to relay the order to the frontline warriors.
After that, Jace sighed deeply. "Thank you for standing with us." He patted Redmond's shoulder, but the warrior immediately swatted his hand.
"Don't talk in that tone with me, you jinx me," he grumbled. "The battle has not yet done. There is still hope, let's go!"
The difference between Redmond and Jace was probably because of their alpha.
When Cane was very presence for his pack member and would lead them into whatever murky water they were going through, which boosted their moral with only his presence, Gerald was not like that to his warrior, he used to hide and let himself be protected.
Therefore, at time like this, Jace was a little bit down without Cane, so did the rest of the pack, especially with their constant lost, but it was not the same for Redmond, since he used to have a coward as an alpha, who would hide in the safe place and couldn't care less about his people, so with or without the alpha's presence, he could keep his moral, though the situation was not in their favor.
Jace followed Redmond and shifted into his beast, as he led the warriors to rush back to the valley. This was their last chance and he prayed Will would arrive soon with the reinforcement.

"Gamma Ethan… I can't feel my legs…" Joel whimpered, tears pooled in his eyes and his bloody face looked panic, but there was nothing he could do, except laid down on the hard ground.
"It's okay, Joel, it's okay boy. You will be fine, you only need to rest and let your body to heal, okay?" Ethan caressed his head.
This young warrior had come between Ethan and a hard blow that their enemy launched. It was a sneak attack and Ethan didn't realize it, since he was occupied by three beasts.
"Rest for a while, okay?" Ethan said in comforting tone, he tried to focus on Joel and didn't look around, because he knew, the sight would devastate him.
"I am sleepy…"
"It's okay, you need to rest."
Joel closed his eyes and Ethan clenched his jaw tightly, he glanced at Joel's legs. Both of his legs were destroyed and he was afraid for the worst. Even if he survived, there was no way to safe his legs and in that case, he would no longer part of the warrior from the Howling Wolf pack, in which he took so much pride in it.
"Rest well, boy, rest well… everything will be fine," Ethan chanted, as he took his hand and patted it.
From eight young warriors, Ethan brought with him, six of them died during the fight, but not before they killed at least, one of their enemies.
It would be seven if Joel didn't survive this, while the other one, was sitting at Joel's side silently with his head hung low, while holding Joel's other hand and tears fell from his eyes, but he didn't make any noise. 0
This young warrior was covered with blood and wound.
It was a horrendous night…

Eron and Dyne followed behind Iris, as they couldn't let her go alone toward the horde of monsters, while Dean and Oliver walked ahead of them.
They left Chrystal, the mistress of alpha Dristan alone in the cave, because she was too afraid to step out of that place and probably it was for the best, since the monster gathered at the one place, there was no imminent danger she would face if she stayed there.
"What are you planning to do, luna?" Dyne asked, he couldn't stop frowning when he saw the black wisp and the holler of the monster in the distance.
Iris didn't say anything, she kept walking with expressionless face, she was deep in thought, as she recalled all the memories that was given to her a moment ago. Her dream was so real to be called a dream.
It felt so long, she almost thought, she lived in different era and had a completely different life there, after she watched how the first Serafim made one mistake after the other because she lost Lu.
