THE FINAL SHOWDOWN
The Serafim was a holy creature, blessed with divine power, which was the power that only belonged to her, she was the embodiment of the pureness and compassion, someone without any sense of hatred, neither anger.
But at the same time, she had human heart, which was the contradiction of the purpose of her existence, in which Na was struggling to keep her heart pure when she met with Lu.
That cursed creature was so… alive.
The way the lycan was angry for her and was being upset, showing his emotions freely, which was something that a Serafim couldn't do, was a comforting thing for Na in a twisted way. She lived through Lu emotionally, until she grew attached to him, so did the lycan.
Thus, when she lost him, there was nothing that mattered in her eyes anymore. The pain was so great, she couldn't endure it.
Therefore, she used the forbidden magic, she divided her power to five holy warriors, who would protect the next Serafim after her. Since Decratic was not completely destroyed, the circle of Serafim would continue.
This was the truth that no one knew aside from Na and Rei. People thought, the Serafim existed to keep the balance and destroy the black magic, but as it turned out, the circle of the Serafim was a result of Na's selfish decision.
While her divine power was divided into five, Na begged Rei to take the essence of her life before she died…
And now, the essence of the first Serafim's life was within Iris. It was not sure how she ended up with it, since the memory stopped when Rei took Na's lifeforce.
Iris stared at both of her hands. She had her essence, but she didn't have all of her power. What she had was not complete.
"How can you do that?!" Oliver was on alert when he saw how Iris's hands exuded soft white light, as if she was holding illuminous pearls in her hands.
Iris lifted her head and looked at Oliver. "I don't have time to explain this to you." Probably the right words were; she didn't know how to or where to begin with the explanation, since this was something that even Iris still tried to wrap her head around it. "We need to find Cane first."
Oliver clenched his jaw and didn't say anything anymore, while the rest didn't dare to make a peep. The more they walked toward the horde of the monster, the more they could hear vicious growls and this dampened their spirit.
Iris could see how their beasts became restless when they came closer to their destination and the deafening roars filled the air. Iris felt a little bit headache to hear such clamorous sound, since her life had been very quiet and this sound irritated her.
"We can't move further than this," Oliver said, as they hid themselves between the tree. Because of the dark wisp, they were hidden so well. No one would pay close attention to where they were hiding, unless there was monster came toward their direction.
However, Iris didn't feel the need to hide, as she walked ahead, emerged from the shadow of the trees before they could stop her.
Before her eyes, she watched how the lycan was trying to destroy the barrier that was put by Zeke and lady Cyan. You could see the crack of the barrier and it wouldn't last for long before the lycan managed to get a hold of them.
Meanwhile, the monsters noticed her presence, but for some reason, they ignored her, as they continued to assault the barrier, along with the lycan.
"Lu…" Iris called the lycan. It was new moon and tonight was the time, where the lycan's blood grew stronger and Cane's consciousness laid dormant.
The lycan stopped his attempt and perked his ears when his red eyes found her. Meanwhile, Haco immediately rushed toward her Iris's side and tried to put barrier around her, but he noticed something else, the glow in her hands.
"Kill those people…" Iris said in small voice.
==============================
The final showdown would be in this valley, where they had to take advantage of the terrain, because this was the only way for them to be able to fight off those warriors. Their only chance to survive.
As the night grew deeper, their hope faded away as well. They were hanging by a thread, even though there was no glimpse of chance to survive this.
Their enemies were twice in number and strength compared to them and even though the warriors of Red Claw pack that alpha Dristan left behind had helped them, but the help was like a drop of water in the ocean…
This was it.
This would be the end of the Howling Wolf pack. They didn't even know whether their alpha survived or not in the hand of the king.
The battle had happened since this morning and lasted for almost a day now, there was no chance for them to stand this final battle. They were too exhausted, while their opponent seemingly didn't know the word of tired at all.
Jace and Redmond were in their beast form, they stood in front of the warriors, led them in the front line and the beta liked this warrior a little bit now.
Now he understood why Ethan trusted him and actually got along with him really well, despite the bickering here and there.
It was unfortunate their time was so short to know each other. It would be nice if they had a longer time, to know him more. 1
And when the first beast from the royal warriors charged forward, it was the cue for the rest to follow him and Jace had prepared himself for the worst. He determined to take as many enemies as he could before they took him down.
However, before they could make a contact, suddenly something big and white fell from the cliff, it rolled on the dirt ground and stopped between the two parties, as the furry creature blinked its eyes stupidly.
