MORE EXPLANATION
Iris had seen this person before, whether it was in her memories or when he met with her secretly and disappeared so quickly. It was the same person. It was the same man.
Rei.
He was the protector of the first Serafim. Na didn't have five Holy Knights, who were chosen to protect her, but she only had one and it was Rei.
It had been over five hundred years since the death of the first Serafim, but he was still alive. There must be some explanation behind it, but this was not the right time to demand an answer.
"What's going on? Who is he?!" Haco immediately created a barrier around him and Iris, though it was so weak, since he had exhausted his magic power. It wouldn't last for long. He should have come with more magic power, Ethan would have given him more if he knew the sorcerer would encounter another magic users or lady Cyan decided to expose herself that she was a witch.
However, Iris didn't pay close attention to the sorcerer beside her, or the four dumbstruck warriors behind her. Her eyes fixed on this golden hair man before her. His moss green color eyes stared at her with longing.
"Rei?" Iris called his name and he pressed his lips tightly, as a surge of emotions came to the surface.
And it seemed, the lycan also recognized him, but he didn't look happy at all, as he moved toward Iris, instead of trying to kill the father and daughter duo. The lycan controlled the monsters and made them attacked this man, along with Zeke and Cyan too.
Without their magic, it would be the final blow that would definitely kill them.
Rei saw this coming and it was not only the lycan, who were dissatisfied with this encounter, but this man as well. He frowned and moved so fast, until you couldn't see it. His figure flickered and then disappeared, only to appear again next to Iris and wrapped his arms around her waist to take her away.
Because of how fast his movement and how unpredictable this man was, none of them had time to react when he took Iris away. This man literally kidnapped her right before their eyes!
Of course, the lycan was the first, who reacted, as he let out a ferocious growled and started to rush away from the scene to get his mate back.
And without the lycan was being in control over the monster, these creatures started to act out. Their instinct kicked in and they went berserk.
"Damn it, Lu!" Haco cursed under his breath, as he moved toward the other four warriors. "Move! Move! Find a shelter! Run!"
Everything was a mess and they were no longer care about Cyan and Zeke when these monsters were hot on their heels.
It was not sure, whether the father and daughter managed to survive this or not, because right now, their main priority was to stay alive. There was no way they could fight this many monsters only the four of them and a sorcerer, who had no magic left.
Meanwhile, Iris felt like the air left her lungs when Rei carried her to move so fast, away from the monsters, the dark magic users and the lycan…
He took her to the safety and only stopped when they were in the clearing area, where she could hear the sound of waterfall and the water that splashed her face.
"Put me down!" Iris struggled to free herself from him and Rei obliged. He released her and stood there silently. He stared at her eyes with longing.
However, the loud noise from the waterfall overwhelmed Iris, she felt like she was overstimulated with this newly found sound. Her world used to be very quiet, but right now it was rich with a lot of voices.
Iris needed to adjust herself with her current situation and it took her more than fifteen minutes to get used to this, before she could face Rei.
"What do you want? Take me back to Cane!" Iris was furious because she came to look for Cane, not to be taken away from him, yet this man was actually doing the opposite.
"You can't be with him." Finally, Rei talked for the first time to Iris. His voice was somber and he took a step closer, but he stopped himself when Iris took a step back to avoid him.
"I don't ask your permission," Iris retorted.
"You know what happened before when you chose to be with the lycan. The lycan is a cursed creature for a reason."
"It's Na, who chose to be with the lycan," Iris stated it clearly, she raised her voice, so Rei could hear through the rumbling noise from the waterfall. "I chose to be with my mate."
His eyes dimmed when he heard that. "The lycan has wormed into his soul and the alpha has tapped onto his power too, they are essentially one," Rei said. "Just like how you become one with Na when you get a better sense of her power. Her memories are yours, so did her power."
"I am not Na and Cane is not Lu, don't confused yourself, Rei," Iris replied. "I am going to find Cane." She then turned around, but stopped when Rei called her name.
"You were not born deaf, Iris. It's Na's way to recognize the lycan. The first sound you heard is him, right?"
Iris turned around, her face hardened. She had this angry look. "As a Serafim, someone, who should be kind and affectionate, divine and every beautiful adjective words you can find, she sure knows how to mess up with someone's life."
Having Gerald and Mason as her family, was the worst luck she had, but with the additional of being deaf, it only added to her misery. 0
"Don't talk badly about her, Iris, because you will not like what you are going to hear now you are able to do so."
