FAREWELL

It was weird, but at the same time, it did make sense how the white light that appeared in her palms now scattered into hundred of lights, it almost like speck of dusts under the sunlight, it was beautiful and dazzling, each speck of it went to each warrior spirit, consumed them and they finally disappeared from Iris sight one by one.  0

The sight of it was so devastating, Iris couldn't describe it into word and because she was the only one, who could see them, it was even more heartbreaking for her to know the living warrior and even Cane, couldn't see them for the last time. 

Cane had never said it, neither he had ever showed it, but he cared so much and loved his people dearly. He was rather lenient with them. 

"They have gone one by one…" Iris said in a whispery tone. She stared blankly at the last twelve warriors and all of them were very young, probably they were around Joel's age, they must be his friend. "They are so young…"

Oliver and Eron lowered their head, they could hear the sadness in Iris's voice when she whispered to the wind her final goodbye to the dead warriors. They couldn't see them, but knowing a battle had happened back in the pack and Iris said there were half of the warrior spirit with them, they realized how many people they had lost. 

This people were someone they had shared their pain and joy, they shared their food with each other and treaded through dangerous part together, someone they had known for years and so dear to them, but now, they lost them and they even couldn't be there in their final moment. 

"Farewell brave warriors, you will always be remembered…" Iris whispered when the last young warrior disappeared from her sight. It was only an empty spot now, with trees before her eyes and grass beneath her, the wind carried the flowery smell from the north. 

Tears trickled down from Iris's eyes and if it was not for Lu, who was standing behind her and still held her closely, she would have dropped to the ground and whimper. 

She didn't know them closely, but she had so many reasons to be sad right now, she mourned the lost of those warriors. They only tested the freedom they always dreamed of for less than a year, but now they lost their lives…

"Their souls rest in peace now," Lu said from behind her, he nuzzled her neck with his nose in a way to give her comfort. 

The forest became very silence, as if it mourned the brave souls of the Howling Wolf pack. 

Iris wiped her tears roughly and with her hoarse voice, she asked. "How do you know this? Could you see them?"

Iris could feel Lu shook his head against her shoulder. "No. But, I have seen you done this a few times before."

She understood, who Lu was referring to, it must be the first Serafim, since this power belonged to her. Lu must be the only person, aside from Rei, who knew how the Serafim's power worked. 

After a long silence, Lu growled when someone came closer to them, it was Eron, the warrior approached the alpha and the luna carefully, but he stopped in his track when he heard a dangerous growl from his alpha, was not sure, why he was growling viciously at him. 

Only when Lu turned around and Eron saw his red eyes, he was stunned and took a few steps back. 

"Stop it, Lu," Iris said, she squeezed his arm to warn him not to scare Eron and the lycan obliged. He looked sullen, but he did stop threatening the poor warrior. 

"Lu… luna… I think we should go back to the place where we promised to meet with Dyne and Dean, they must have returned to provide a report regarding the situation in the pack." Now they had found Cane and Iris, they needed to go back, so they could rejoin with Dyne and Dean, and learned what happened in the Howling Wolf pack. 

Eron kept glancing at the alpha and was sure this was not alpha Cane. 

After what they had witnessed and how the explanation had not been provided, since the situation did not allow it yet, they still this uncomfortable mixed feeling and so many question that consumed their mind.

On the other hand, Oliver narrowed his eyes, his shoulders were so tensed, he pressed his lips tightly. For his alpha to be the lycan that had shaken the continent in the past few months, was something he didn't expect at all, even in his wildest dream. 

It didn't go unnoticed by Oliver as well when Iris tried to calm the lycan. How could she tame the lycan? A runt like her could control the cursed creature? 

Oliver had different point of view from the way Eron saw what was going on right now…

"Hm, let's go…" Iris was so exhausted. Her mind was tangled, she was overwhelmed with so many information and new questions at the same time. A long discussion was needed, but before that, their top priority was to take a rest before they went crazy and their head exploded… 

Haco watched how Iris could use the first Serafim's power, he wanted to have a conversation with her and there were a few things he wanted to let her knew, but it was not the right time. He needed to wait until everything was sort out. 

"Can you give me Cane back?" Iris asked. She held Cane's hand that felt so cold. She wanted her mate back, but didn't want to offend the lycan that had helped her. 

Lu sulked, but it was Cane's face that was pouting, in everyone's eyes and Oliver and Eron almost stumbled when they witnessed their alpha made such face. 

"He is tired, he can't play with you. Why don't you play with me? Why do you always ask for him? You don't like me?"
