Literally Heaven-sent
NOEL SHERWOOD's purpose in life was to record historical events in the empire.
He was just supposed to be an observer, and he shouldn't care who would win in the divine war. But as the descendant of the Blue Dragon, he also ought to fulfill his clan's thirst for revenge– revenge against the Blue Dragon who abandoned them in the past.
That was just one of the reasons he decided to move, though.
The other was to repay the kindness that the Black Serpent had shown his clan in the past.
After they were abandoned by the Blue Dragon, it was the Black Serpent who took care of them. The Black Serpent of the time gave the Blue Dragon Clan a safe place to call home. That was how the Rippertons survived that war.
"Tigers," Luna, the witch, said while beaming. "You found the Golden Tiger's descendants, Lord Sherwoood."
"I found them while hunting Drake, my stupid ancestor's Spirit Guardian," Noel said as he landed on the ground. "As we suspected, Drake abducted Faline– the Golden Tiger's Spirit Guardian."
"Is Faline alright?"
He raised his hand to block the twin combat mages' attack. A violent surge of wind came out of his palm, attacking Michelle and Rachelle Atkinson in the process. The twins were sent flying then.
"Faline is barely alive when I found her, but she's out of immediate danger now," he said, then he gestured to the Tigers to attack. "But let's talk about that later." He turned to witch. "What do you need me to do?"
"Get the twins away from me," Luna said, gathering the Mana in her hands again. "I will try to deactivate the spell again."
He wasn't really convinced since her Mana was getting weak.
But in that situation, all he could do was trust the witch. And even if she failed to deactivate the spell, he had another plan prepared.
"Alright," Noel said while nodding. "I'll stall time for you, Miss Luna."

FROZEN monsters.
To be precise, Crades– the flesh-eating monsters that terrorized the empire for centuries.
[And these monsters were summoned by Nia Moonchester.]
Kiho had always found it easy to use the element of ice, but it had become easier for him now that they were in the North where they were surrounded by snow. Hence, even if he had to use a huge amount of Mana to freeze the hundreds of monsters scattered in the sky, he didn't even break a sweat.
He thought it would be an easy win.
However, he was surprised when the monsters suddenly broke free.
[Impossible! My ice…]
His ice didn't just break into tiny pieces– they actually MELTED.
[Only fire that's on the same level as Tilly's flame can melt my ice, though.]
He was distracted when he heard a burst of loud laughter coming from above him.
When he looked up, he clicked his tongue when he saw Nia Moonchester suspended in the air– looking down at him while smirking arrogantly.
[Where's Tilly…?]
His wife was supposed to be fighting the wicked princess. However, Tilly couldn't be seen anywhere.
[I still feel her presence, though.]
It only lessened his worries, but he still had to fight.
He raised his hands and freeze the monsters again.
However, he could clearly see the Crades emit smoke as if they were trying to melt his ice again.
And they were clearly succeeding.
Tsk.
[I have no choice but to use my sword in the end, huh?]
"Did you think I spent my entire life in this timeline raising useless monsters? Of course not," Nia said bitterly. "I raised those monsters by feeding them the hearts of the Fire Mages that I've killed in the past." She smirked once again. "Including the heart of Lady Marianne Prescott."
Lady Marianne Prescott was Tilly's mother.
He growled lowly, his golden eyes glowing menacingly.
[Ah, so that's how the monsters melted my ice.]
"You…"
He was about to curse out Nia, but he was distracted when he saw HUNDREDS of blinking red lights behind the wicked princess.
That moment, the sky suddenly turned dark.
Hence, the balls of red lights that appeared and scattered in the sky became more visible even to the naked eye.
[What are those things?]
Nia, who either noticed that he got distracted or probably felt the strange presence around her, looked over her shoulder.
Then the wicked princess gasped out loud.
He had the same reaction because, suddenly, the blinking red lights that scattered in the sky took the form of HUMANS with red wings.
Red flaming wings, to be exact.
Kiho whispered to himself in disbelief: "Fire Mages."
Fire Mages fell from the sky!
[They must be the Fire Mages living on the floating island all this time.]
He was once again distracted when he saw a familiar figure behind Nia Moonchester. Before he knew it, he was already smiling.
After all, he finally saw her again.
[Tilly!]
And Tilly just smacked Nia Moonchester in the head– causing the wicked princess to drop to the ground, her fall causing a small crater as a result.
That must have hurt, but he didn't care.
"Sorry, honey," Tilly, whose purple eyes were glowing beautifully, said to Kiho. "I'll take care of Nia, so please lead the Fire Mages in defeating the Crades?"
Kiho smiled and nodded. "Anything for you, Tilly."

[THEY'RE finally here.]
Tilly was fighting Nia in the sky when she felt the presence of her fellow Fire Mages.2
[They need my help.]
So, when she noticed that Kiho used his ice to freeze the Crades that the bitch princess had summoned, she allowed herself to get hit by Nia's attack. Then she let herself fall to the ground.
But the fire that she summoned cushioned her fall, so she wasn't hurt.
While she was lying on the snow-covered ground, unmoving, she saw Nia mock Kiho after the monsters melted her husband's ice.
[Tsk.]
She wanted nothing more than to attack Nia after hearing her comment about what she fed the Crades, especially after the bitch mentioned her mother. However, she had to hold back and focus on breaking the barrier in the sky.
Yes, there was a barrier in the sky that was almost invisible to the eye.
She didn't know who put it up, but it was obvious that the barrier was there to prevent them from calling for reinforcement.
[Not that we need it.]
However, she would welcome any help that would come their way.
Hence, the need to break the barrier.
She raised her arms, then clenched her hands tight. As soon as she did, she saw the faint image of the glass-like barrier breaking into tiny pieces.
Then it was followed by the pour of blinking red lights.
She couldn't help but smile sadly.
The Fire Mages who had been living on the floating island had finally descended. It only meant one thing.
[Solaris…]
She didn't have the time to dwell on sadness, though.
After ensuring that the Fire Mages had safely descended, she got on her feet and spread her flaming wings once again.
Then she shot up the sky and hit Nia in the head, causing the bitch to fall to the ground.
"Sorry, honey," Tilly, whose purple eyes were glowing beautifully, said to her husband. "I'll take care of Nia, so please lead the Fire Mages in defeating the Crades?"
Kiho smiled and nodded. "Anything for you, Tilly."
She smiled back at him before she faced the Fire Mages.
Their flaming wings were getting smaller and smaller. It wasn't surprising since she could tell that the wings were only temporary. Those wings were only created to help the Fire Mages descend safely.
"I, the Supreme Fire Mage, command every single one of you to support Kiho and eliminate the Crades," Tilly said firmly. "We will win this war."
The Crades that just melted Kiho's ice didn't wait for them, of course.
However, despite the Crades coming at the Fire Mages at full speed, her people still bowed to her respectfully.
"As you wish, Supreme Fire Mage."
