That's bad... this is bad.

"No..." Dane hid behind the other vehicle as he watched the other cars rev up. "... they should stay behind..."
His eyes shook, coughing at the thickening smoke in the surroundings. Yet, the growing worry in his heart refrained him from going inside the car. Right now, a few of the bodyguards were going into that building filled with bad people who, for sure, could take a person's life without batting an eye.
Even though he wasn't very fond of those bodyguards in particular except Bear, Dane felt guilty. Not to mention, Axel and Dominic were going to such a dangerous place as well. He didn't like Heaven for many reasons, but considering she was pregnant, he believed she should've just stayed behind.
"You should just do what you can do."
Dane furrowed his brows at the person who spoke. Moving his head, his eyes fell on the overweight bodyguard Bear recommended in the past. Fig licked the crumbs on the side of his mouth, wiping his fingers on his fitted suit that seemed it wouldn't fit him in a few months with his eating habits.
"Don't worry about them," Fig continued, slipping his hand inside his suit. "Staying here or going with them is the same, after all. Or rather, it's much safer if they go with those guys than stay here with us."
The lines between Dane's brows deepened as he watched Fig pull out a pistol in a languid manner.
"Weren't you listening?" Fig slowly pointed the pistol at the side, eyes still on Dane. "Who they wanted is Mr. Zhu. If they stayed behind, they'd be unguarded."
BANG!
VROOOM!
Fig pulled the trigger and at the same time, the piercing noise was muffled by the accelerating vehicles nearby. Dane instinctively squinted his eyes and covered his ears with the sound of the engine, but still kept his attention on Fig.
'Why did he fire a shot?' wondered Dane, peeking at the overweight bodyguard whom he had a bad impression with. 'What's that for?'
"We all stepped foot into an enemy's trap..." Fig slowly turned his head to the side, staring in a direction as if he could see clearly through this thick fog. "You should get inside. Once this smoke disappears, it'll be too late for us."
"Huh?"
"Hey." Fig whistled to get the other bodyguard's attention. "Drag him back in. We should go."
Fig wasted no time as he marched toward the front passenger seat, knowing they wouldn't fit inside if he sat in the backseat. The other bodyguards immediately got in as well while some dragged Dane back into the backseat. They might not be as audacious as the rest of them, but they understood the situation.
Before Dane knew it, two bodyguards sandwiched him in the backseat.
"Hey..." Dane's voice faded at the sound of their engine revving up. "What in the world..."
SCREEECH!
The rest of his words weren't heard as their vehicle screeched, drifting in the area as they made a turn. Instead of following the two vehicles that were going into the building, their destination was the opposite way.
They had to go in a distance — to a safe place.
Dane's mind was blank for a moment, darting his eyes on the bodyguards and noticing their grim expressions. The two bodyguards sitting on either side of him already held their weapons. Even the driver removed his suit in case he needed to move in comfort. Meanwhile, Fig went through the compartment in front of him to see if there were more weapons he could use.
"Wait... I..." Dane trailed off as he turned his head to the side, staring over at the man beside him and through the mirror. As they drove away from the thick smoke, he caught a person lying beside a tree trunk, shot dead.
"That guy..." his pupils dilated as he felt the knot in his stomach tighten, remembering which direction Fig shot fired moments ago.
Danger.
That word suddenly appeared in Dane's mind in a capslock. He could still see some silhouettes in the surroundings as they drove away, giving more sense as to why Fig said what he said.
Fig was right.
It didn't matter if Dominic, Heaven, and Axel stayed or not because this place was surrounded by enemies. It was akin to stepping into an enemy's palm.
BANG BANG BANG!
"Ahh!!!" Dane screamed when shots were fired, making their vehicle go off the rail to dodge the bullet. However, some still managed to touch their vehicle. Fortunately, it was bulletproof.
"Tch!" Meanwhile, the bodyguards sitting on either side of Dane hissed, turning their heads at the people shooting them. They wanted to fire back, but rolling down the window was too dangerous at the moment.
BANG BANG BANG!!
SCREEECH!
Everyone in the vehicle was helpless by the force at every sudden turn of the car they were in. All they could do was hold on tightly, putting their trust in the driver to get them out of danger.
"Uh..." Fig, the calmest of all, frowned. "Is this all we got? Mr. Zhang, don't you always keep weapons in every car that escorts the master?"
Fig looked back, his hand gripping the handle, which broke when their car turned violently once again.
"Huh?" Dane looked up at the man, only to see Fig looking back in the driver's seat with a frown.
"They already got the tires," explained Fig in a knowing tone. "If we let them shoot us, then we might not get out of here alive. We need to contact the General and the police, don't we?"
"Uhh… in the…" Dane cleared his throat, flinching as another bullet hit the window. He took a deep breath and plucked out his courage to ignore the shower of bullets. "Underneath the seat! There's a suitcase underneath your seat! Though you have to assemble it —"
"That's bad. This is bad." Fig's frown deepened, looking down, only to see his big stomach bulging. "Why did you hide such an important thing underneath the seat? I can't bend over."
"..."
BANG BANG BANG!
SCREEECH!
