[Bonus chapter] I might lose trust in you completely

On the second floor of the building, some men also shot fired at those riding in tandem to back up those on the third floor. However, they didn't waste more ammo on them as they caught two vehicles coming out of the thick smoke from the distance.  2

"Which one?!" one man yelled, darting his eyes between the vehicles coming straight into the building. "I don't know where Dominic Zhu is!"

People from the second floor gazed at the first vehicle, only to see a courageous fellow sitting in the front passenger window. Tiger's lower body was still inside, he had no protective gear to protect him from danger. Yet, this display of confidence somewhat sent shivers down their spine. 

Meeting a man without any fear of death was the most troublesome of all. And that was clear to everyone.

"Doesn't matter!" a man's voice thundered on the second floor, leaping as he positioned his rifle at the approaching footsteps. 

"UGH!!"

Before the man could pull the trigger, all of them gazed up at the ceiling. Dust from the ceiling fell on them as screams and shouts and more deafening rounds of shots echoed across the building. 

"Take him down — ugh!"

"Get back! Don't let him in!" 

Shouts from the third floor gave enough explanation on why there was more chaos now on that floor. The felons in the level below clenched their teeth. 

"Get on the third floor! That motherfucker fucking got in!" yelled another man, prompting a few of them to rush to the stairs to help their comrades. Those who were left on the second floor focused on the vehicles approaching. 

"There's just one!" announced another person, seeing that the rider of the motorcycle was driving away. "Get that one!"

"Leave him alone! Our target is not him!" 

  At this point, the people on the second floor didn't know who was talking. Their leader was not there to give commands and thus, they listened to whoever made sense. With that being said, those who were left on the second floor, aimed at the cars ahead. Yet, no one shot first immediately. 

"Take those cars down," said someone under his breath. "Dominic Zhu is surely in one of them."

BANG BANG BANG!

Meanwhile...

"Heh... fucking amateurs." Tiger let out a scoff as a minute passed and no one shot fired at them. However, the second those words rolled out of his tongue, a round of bullets was shot. 

SCREEECH...

"Woah!" Tiger held on inside as Gray suddenly turned left to dodge the bullet. "Now we're talking!" 

His lips stretched from ear to ear until his teeth were fully displayed, lifting the rifle from his shoulders. His eyes glinted with excitement and menace, cocking his head before firing continuous shots as if he had unlimited supply. Their vehicle moved in a zigzag, ambling up dirt that made it hard for their enemies to see their targets clearly. 

"Hah..." Gray, who was driving the SUV, couldn't help but sigh. He glanced at the rear mirror, seeing that Axel was following their trails efficiently. "She chose an exceptional driver. I heard he's an aspiring pro race. I guess that's true." 

Gray calmly set his eyes ahead, moving his other hand inside his suit. When he took his hand out, he took out a pistol. 

"Once this is over..." he trailed off, winding down the window slightly before putting the pistol out to shoot some obstacles Tiger hadn't gotten. "... he should equip us with more efficient guns. Tiger, can't you fucking see those guys!? I can't move any further if you ignore them!"

"Shut up, fool! Bear is already there — don't waste your ammo!"

Gray frowned as he retrieved his hand and pistol to focus on driving. "The gall to tell me not to waste ammo when he's been wasting his," came out a grumble, but didn't bother any more as he caught Bear's silhouette in the direction he shot fired. 

BANG BANG BANG!

Meanwhile, in the vehicle behind Gray and Tiger, Axel could almost feel his gums bleed at how he had been clenching his teeth. He flexed his fingers on the steering wheel, eyes stuck on the car's bumper ahead of them. Right now, they were driving at a high speed, but because they weren't going in a straight line, Axel had to calculate the movements of the car ahead of them. If not, they would crash into it and probably die before those enemies would kill them. 

"Goodness..." Axel breathed out to release the increasing tension in his chest. He glanced at the front passenger in the car ahead, catching Tiger fearlessly shooting the enemies while leaving himself wide open.

'I can't cower. I can't...'

Axel kept chanting in his mind, telling himself that if Tiger could do this, he should, too. Well, not as fearless as Tiger, but at least he shouldn't fail. After all, Tiger was baiting the enemies, risking his life. Bear too. Although Axel had no idea where Bear was right now or if Bear had gotten close to the building, he knew Bear had put his life in danger by saving Sebastian. As Sebastian's uncle, he should do his best as well. 

"Ughh... sis, we're making another turn!" announced Axel as he caught a faint red light from the car ahead, studying where the tires would go, and efficiently followed the car ahead of them without crashing into it. 

Heaven clenched her teeth as she held on tightly. Dominic, on the other hand, held her shoulders with his foot on the back of the chair in front of him. When their vehicle stabilized for a moment, Heaven turned her head to Dominic.

"I'm fine," she announced as soon as she met his eyes. "The baby too. It's not hurting."

Dominic simply nodded, lips shut. "Just hold tight." He leaned back slightly, flipping his phone that never left his hand to check on something.

'He's been on his phone,'she thought, aware that Dominic would glance at his phone from time to time. She then glanced at Axel, staring at his side profile and seeing the look she never saw in Axel in the past. 'Thanks to him, we can prepare for any violent turn.' 

They weren't going in a straight line, and the stress of every abrupt turn was barely bearable. However, Axel would shout and announce before making a turn, and thus, Heaven and Dominic could prepare themselves for a second. 

"He's here." Dominic moved his phone in front of her, showing her a map inside the building. "My intel told me Basti is here."

Heaven gazed down at the phone, brows furrowed. There was a red dot lighting up on the map, indicating it was real-time. She glanced at Dominic and nodded. 

"Got it," she said, drawing a deep breath. 

"We need to go there…" Dominic gazed at his phone with slight impatience, sending the location to everyone he could send it to in case they would see. But right now, he was certain Bear and Tiger wouldn't have time to do so. 

"Don't worry, Dom." Dominic raised his head when his wife reassured him with a level of certainty. "Basti will be safe for now… Joker will make sure of that."

Dominic's lips parted, a bit surprised at her remarks. 

"I'll tell you everything once this is over." Heaven forced a smile to her face, biting her inner bottom lips. "For now, we have to save our son."

Dominic pressed his lips again and nodded, peeling his eyes from her and then reaching for the small compartment under his seat. 

"You better explain things to me, Heaven," he mumbled as he took out a small suitcase. When he put it on his lap and opened it, he started assembling the small rifle stored in it. "Because if you don't… I might lose trust in you completely."
