Show them hell
Tiger and Bear were already distracting the enemies, fighting them with everything they had. However, that didn't mean Heaven's path was clear. On their way to where their son was, they met with armed felons.0
BANG BANG!
"Ah!" Axel's entire body shook as Gray dragged him behind the wall, jumping at the sound of bullets hitting the concrete. He covered his ears with trembling hands, his complexion drained until he was as white as a sheet.
"This is a mistake," he mumbled, stricken with unimaginable fear. "I shouldn't have gone here — ah!"
Axel winced in pain when Gray placed his arm across his chest, pushing him against the wall aggressively.
"This is not the time for regret, second young master," Gray hissed at the second young master, looking at the man with dismay. "Get a grip."
Axel gulped, eyes shaking as he gazed at the pair of burning eyes before him. Even this young-looking lad, who seemed to be stuck in the adolescent stage, carried such intense air around him.
"I'm..." Axel trailed off as he flinched at the rounds of bullets hitting the concrete where they were hiding. "... sorry."
Gray huffed quietly and looked back at where Dominic and Heaven were. These two weren't hard to be with since they could aim at moving targets and could fend off for themselves. Axel might be a good driver, however, he was one of their worries on this mission. Alas, they couldn't just leave Axel behind.
"Thirty..." Gray set his attention to his smartwatch, tapping on it a few times to check on something. "I don't think there's only thirty people in here."
"According to my intel, more people came," explained Dominic, warranting Gray's attention. "There's almost a hundred people in this place."
"A hundred?" Gray looked at Axel on instinct, frowning. "I'll go ahead and clear the path. You guys stay here --"
BOOM!
The four of them flinched and ducked down on instinct when they heard an ear-splitting explosion. Axel screamed his lungs out, covering his ears as he thought they exploded. When Axel perked up, he realized the explosion came from the direction where the enemies were earlier.
BOING
Dominic's ringtone almost faded at the fading echoes of the explosion, making him check his phone briefly. Meanwhile, Gray straightened his back and walked, peeking his head out of the wall they were hiding. Only thick smoke and some flesh was what he saw.
"That..."
"I think it's clear for now." Dominic slipped his hand inside his pocket once again, earning his companion's attention.
"Boss." With deep lines in between his brows, Gray looked at Dominic suspiciously. "Do you, perhaps, work with someone named Joker?"
Dominic gazed at Gray, assessing the latter. "How did you know him?" Was Joker a celebrity that everyone seemed to know aside from him?
"Ah..." Gray bit his tongue, realizing he slipped up. "I just heard some rumors about the guy when I was in my previous work."
Lies.
Dominic blinked ever so slowly, watching Gray look away from him. He instinctively cast his wife a look, only to see her bear with a solemn look on her face.
"Gray, status?" she asked after a moment, making Gray look back at her with furrowed brows. "You were checking the building, weren't you? What's the status?"
Confused, Gray shook his head as he didn't dwell on her question and how well she understood the situation. "Bad," he confessed.
"Tiger and Bear were probably fighting seventy percent of the guys," he continued, peeking his head out of the wall to check if the thick cleared up. "The rest were around this floor. We need to confront them, but for sure, more will come. So you have to stay close."
Gray frowned as he cast Axel a side-eye. "Stay behind, second young master. I'll clear the path and you search for the little master. We're running out of time. If we don't have reinforcement in time, I'm afraid their reinforcement will come before them. That'll be problematic if we're still here."
That would mean even if they rescued Sebastian on time, going out of this place would be ten times harder. If this mission only aimed to take down someone, they could go all out. However, they had to protect the children as much as possible. And that was an entirely different situation.
"Dom, can I borrow your phone?" Knowing the situation, Heaven faced Dominic squarely. "Please."
Dominic pressed his lips into a thin line but didn't question her request. He handed her the phone, which she snatched immediately and worked on it.
"What are you doing?" asked Gray, confused, only to get ignored.
After a few seconds, they watched her place the phone in front of her ear. Axel and Gray didn't know who she was trying to call at that moment, but Dominic had an idea.
"Tell me everyone's location in full detail," Heaven immediately ordered as soon as the line was picked up, tilting her head while raising her shoulder to keep the phone in her ears. This was why earpieces were important during missions.
"Who the hell is this?"
"Doesn't matter," she replied coldly, checking her pistol and how many bullets she still had. "Tell me how many there were on this floor and their location. We don't have enough ammo — I don't want to waste one before I get another one on the way."
"Errr... this is confusing," the man on the other end of the line hummed in a confused tone, but she kept quiet. "That hallway is safe, but a few people were waiting at the end."
Hearing that Joker started giving out full details of the building, Heaven put him on loudspeaker.
"Am I on speaker mode?!" Joker harrumphed, warranting a disgusted look from Gray. "Hey, don't do that!"
'He really is the intel. I knew it. I wasn't hearing things when I kept hearing that boing sound,' thought Gray, looking at the phone with dismay. 'Of all people...'
"Lead us the way to Basti," Heaven ignored Joker's complaints as she gazed up at Dominic. "Is he safe?"
"I don't like your guts!" Joker hissed, clicking his tongue in irritation at how this woman talked so casually to him. "He's fine! My baby spider is looking after him."
"Good."
"Though you guys need to hurry. More people are coming into his room and my spiders are running out. I think they plan to move him elsewhere."
Her eyes glinted as her pupils dilated, and she held her breath for a moment as her heart skipped a few beats.
"Stay on the line," she said, taking a step only to halt when Dominic grabbed her arm to stop her. Heaven looked back at her husband, their eyes both burning with their reasons.
"I'll do it," he breathed out, catching her arm once again.
"No." Heaven shook her head, this time using more force to free her arm. Her eyes shone in red, cocking the pistol while keeping her burning eyes on him. "I can't carry three children at the same time. Stay behind and cover me. I'll clear the path."
"Man… what a fucking drama." Joker, on the other end of the line, rolled his eyes. "Just let the most talented go first. I mean, Gray is a good decoy."
"Fuck you!" Gray cursed through his gritted teeth, only to choke on his own breath when he realized his boss was with him.
Heaven huffed as she held Dominic's eyes. "I'll be okay." She peeled her eyes off him, placing the phone inside her pocket while still keeping it on loudspeaker.
"We can't waste time," she said, knowing that if Joker said enemies were coming, that only meant they were already nearby. Wasting another breath might cost them their son. "Stay on the line and update me for any movements."
"I don't like you… but sure."
"They want crazy?" she breathed out as she marched away, walking past Axel and Gray without a second hesitation. 'I'll show them hell.'
Meanwhile, Dominic clenched his teeth as he watched his fierce wife clear the path for them. He could just order Gray to go ahead before them since that was initially their plan. However, by the looks on her face, it screamed urgency.
'Why… am I being treated like a fragile fool?' His face screamed displeasure, watching his wife step out of the wall they were hiding without a second hesitation.
